![]() I just noticed that the credit card attached to my account had expired, sorry, I hadn't thought to check it in a while. Subscription orders have apparently been backing up because of this and this order is scheduled to be cancelled December 13th.
Thank you ![]()
![]() I just received the shipment in the mail today, however the shipment was missing Goblins of Golarion and the package sheet/receipt. The shipment came in a Paizo cardboard box with the tag clearly saying 5 books were included, Pathfinder 48 & 49 were in a cardboard envelope together, and another envelope held Inner Sea Magic and Pathfinder Society Field Guide. The tag on the box clearly says 5 books should be inside, but only four were inside, however since Goblins of Golarion and the package sheet were missing I figure it might have been stolen under way or is this simply as shipping mistake? Can you shed some light on this please? ![]()
![]() Hope this thread doesn't offend anyone, I am simply striving for some degree of authenticity in my games. So, my group of PC's just rolled into Katapesh and had a look around town, of course the paladin decides to free the slaves, though in a lawful manner, he wants to buy slaves and set them free, fine by me, only problem is I don't know what a slave would fetch. So, is there any official word in any Pathfinder volume on the price of a slave? I haven't been able to find one. I was thinking of setting the price at 350g for a relatively young untrained slave, I base that on the salary an untrained laborer earns per day multiplied by 10 years, so a purchaser would break even after 10 years which sounds "fair" to me. So 1s per day * 365 days per year * 10 years = 365g, which I round down to 350g. Although slaves need to be fed by their master, so maybe less? Skilled slaves should obviously be worth more. Would there be any price difference between a man and a woman? Children would likely be worth less than adult slaves since they can't work as hard as an adult, but again they "last longer" than adults. What would be a fair price for children? Anyone care to comment? ![]()
![]() It would seem that a shipping error has occured with my subscriptions for all of the March products (Council of Thieves map folio, Kingmaker 1 and the NPC Guide), I have recieved no e-mail notification, and the order doesn't seem to have ever appeared among my orders. I see that other people have had the same problem, but that Cosmo fixed it, but mine does not appear to be anywhere in sight... Could someone please fix this? ![]()
![]() I just checked the My Subscriptions page, it indicates that the last volume to ship was Pathfinder 26 and the next would be Pathfinder 28. Also, the preorder for no. 27 has not appeared, my bank account does not appear to have been charged anything and I haven't received any e-mail notice of the imminent shipping of no. 27. I am outside the US, but I assume you should at least have placed the preorder when others have had their orders shipped already. Something must have gone wrong, could you please fix this? ![]()
![]() Well, my homebrew campaign setting has grown quite dramatically over the last few years, so much that I'm having trouble keeping track of all the information. So what I've been thinking about for a while now is to create a wiki where I upload all of my notes and other campaign information, but I don't want to put it online. So does anyone know of any kind of tool or software to create and edit a database similar to a wiki, but offline? Help would be greatly appreciated... ![]()
![]() So my boss just told me today I have to go to New York City for a week early next year to help sort out a mess the bank I work for has gotten into. I've noticed a few New Yorkers posting here and since this is my first trip to the United States and New York, I was wondering if anyone has any tips on what to see and do while I'm there (beyond the obvious tourist stuff like the statue of liberty and similar...)? Most of my work will happen during the daytime, so I should have some free time after 6 pm. I'll be in New York from February 9th to 15th. ![]()
![]() So, Age of Conan has been out for over a week now. Has anyone picked it up? I got my Collectors Edition last week and I have to say I love the game, much better than World of Warcraft which I never really got into because of various reasons. My Stygian Demonologist is already up to level 25, if anyone wants to say hello, her name is Eshaeris and can be found on the European server Ymir. I've always loved the Conan stories/world and I feel this game does the mythos great justice. Two thumbs up from me at least. ![]()
![]() I just noticed in the latest Pathfinder that Ezren (the iconic wizard) has his deity listed as "atheism". That makes me wonder what it means to be an atheist in a world where the existence of the divine is so obviously real. Since atheism means to "reject theism" (theism: the belief in the existence one or more divinities or deities) it probably has a different meaning in Golarion. Ezren has an intelligence score of 17 and a wisdom score of 15, he is both smart and insightful enough to realize that the deities are real. So what does it mean to be an atheist in Golarion? ![]()
![]() My group is getting ready to run through Carnival of Tears and they're rolling up new characters. One of them wants to play a wizard from the lands of the linnorm kings. He's trying to build a backstory, but he doesn't really see how that would fit into the whole viking feel of the area. Are there any areas of that area that are civilized/advanced enough to have a "learned" class like wizard?

![]() It has been a few months now since Dungeon/Dragon ended and, Pathfinder and the GameMastery Modules got started so I thought this would be a good time to ask how Paizo is doing. So how are you doing? Are you making ends meet? Do you consider Pathfinder/GameMastery a success? How does it compare (financially) to your run with Dungeon and Dragon? The reason I'm asking is because I hate to see anything happen to my favorite games company, you just can't find quality like what Paizo produces anywhere else. Any finally, is there anything we the fans can do to help keep you going? On behalf of all the fans: We wish you good fortune Paizo, you are in a league of your own! ![]()
![]() Just read up on the pantheon for 4th Edition on Wizard's site... Well, I am still hopeful for the 4th Edition ruleset, but the "default setting" is shaping up to look more and more like Frankenstein's monster. I mean... you take Pelor as the sun god (fine by me), but you go ahead and axe Heironeous and Hextor in favor of who? Bahamut and (FR's) Bane?! I'm really starting to wonder what they are thinking over there... WOTC James Wyatt wrote:

![]() Well, I recieved my (signed!) copy of Expedition to the Ruins of Greyhawk last week and I have been flipping through this thing every chance I get (I swear I'm going to find the time to read it cover to cover soon). However, doing so got me thinking; what about a "classic" D&D adventure like this for Pathfinder Chronicles? Make it a "GameMastery Super Module"... It could be "our" Castle Greyhawk, "our" Maure Castle, "our" Tomb of Horrors... I'm sure I'm not the only one with this idea... ![]()
![]() Well, it has been four weeks since Dragon 359 shipped, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of it. To top it off yesterday something I ordered from Amazon arrived (transit time: 5 days from the USA), and my Pathfinder #1 arrived even though it was shipped a week later than Dragon 359. Could it be possible to redeem this order for store credit? If I can I'll just pick up D359 at my FLGS. If it does happen to show up I'll pay whatever it costs to return it to you... ![]()
![]() Just saw the information about 4th elves on the WotC site. I have to say I like it, they now prefer "natural magic" over "arcane magic", and they are descended from fey. I think this is a step in the right direction, I never really cared much for the elves before. They seemed a bit too "super" for my taste, trying to cover to many bases... The pro 4th side gains another point in my book. What does everyone else think? ![]()
![]() Since I finally have a weekend off I have been taking my time reading through Pathfinder #1 and I have to say I was really surprised by the amount of information in the paragraphs about the various issues of the Pathfinder Chronicles (page 85), just reading through all those stories of Pathfinders exploring the world just got me really excited about Golarion. It seems to be an incredibly exciting (and well developed) world... how much have you developed the world already anyway?! A lot of it is obviously inspired by real world myth. Lost continent of Azlant - Atlantis
Anyway, if the adventures continue to be as good as Burnt Offerings, and the world is as interesting as the Pathfinder Chronicles make it sound I will continue to be a subscriber for a long long time... Just my thoughts. Keep up the good work Paizo! ![]()
![]() What can I say, I like the villains... How big a role will Karzoug himself play in this AP? My players absolutely love to hate Vanthus in STAP, and their many encounters with him really helps to drive that. Will Rise of the Runelords do something with Karzoug beyond just the final encounter of the campaign? In my experience, you need to make the players really hate the villain to get "closure", otherwise the final encounter becomes somewhat anti-climactic. It would be a real help if the players are constantly taunted by the villain from the point they learn about him, such as through projected images (he could even make a personal appearance to see the adventurers who have created so many problems... and leave some minions to fight) or they could come to fight one of his simulacrums... anything to give him a presence really. I'm also a history fan so I'd love to see more information about ancient Thassilon and the Runelords. ![]()
![]() I couldn't sleep the other night, so I sat up flipping through Dungeon 134, and having a particular love for wizards I took a closer look at Thessalar the lich (page 68/69) and it struck me that Thessalar must have been the dumbest mage in the whole world at one point. Here you have an ancient Transmuter 10/Loremaster 10 human lich, and he only speaks three different languages. Namely Common, Draconic and Undercommon. Now, anyone who takes a look at the loremaster prestige class will notice that it grants two bonus languages. And we also know that you gain one bonus language for every point of intelligence bonus when you create a new character, that is in addition to common. That means Thessalar, a mighty CR 22 lich, had at character creation a maximum intelligence score of 11. I am impressed at Thessalar's ability to survive over all these years to become a might lich, however I am less than impressed with some of the adversaries we have faced in The Age of Worms, not that they have been bad adversaries, it is just that they have been riddled with mistakes. Take the ghost avolakia clerics in 135, undead avolakia with tons of cure wounds spells, not to mention a quickened mass cure light wounds at level five (when it should be level 9). I know the writers have a deadline, but guys, come on! Things like these are really things you should have been able to avoid. The fact that Thessalar can only speak three languages is not really a problem, but undead carrying spells that do harm to undead and heal the living is a little worse. I hope you get this fixed for the hardcover and the next AP... |
