Thank you for writing a Lawful Good(or at least good-leaning Lawful Neutral) Hellknight. Now maybe people will stop laughing when my tiny precious paladin announces her intent to join the Order of the Scourge.
Just for the record, I'm putting together a Cardcast deck with the posts from this thread. You can use these decks on Pretend You're Xyzzy to play online Pathfinder-themed CAH with anyone. It's not finished yet, but the code is 8VKC6.
You now need a free hand, like an actual fencer does.
This is absurd thing to think...fencing was nearly always accompanied by something in the other hand. A cloak, a main gauche, a buckler(yes actually held in the hand) or another weapon. Two rapier fighting was actually a real thing as well, I have seen all of these done many times
Olympic strip fencing is a modern sport, it is a tiny fraction of what fencing is.
I'm in a group that does some historical-style fencing. My favored style is rapier/dagger. It's definitely the most common style around here.
Other common techniques that could apply to Pathfinder:
Rapier/buckler
Rapier/staff
Rapier/cane(similar to staff, but with disarm)
Case(two rapiers at once)
All of these are equally valid and would be well represented with Dex-to-damage. Rapier/free hand is for people who haven't gotten a dagger yet.
If you're doing the Warpriest dip, I would advise doing the Warpriest level first and using kukris instead. Better threat range. (The reason I say Warpriest first for this is that they get the proficiency, rogues don't.)
Demoniac is on a similar level, but is likely more destructive, because chaos.
On the original subject, vivisectionist has the issue of being able to get lots of natural attacks AND sneak attack. A well-built vivisectionist on a sneak attack can wreck stuff. Personally, I'd hope for the various gun archetypes. It wouldn't change the guns, just the people holding them. Also, most of them aren't so great mechanically.
Have, openly willing to trade:
Psychic Dilettante(free psychic skill unlock, but I don't have Occult)
Factor(any 1-5 on a Day Job counts as a 10)
Technophobe(bonus vs robots, penalty to using Numerian tech)
Have, willing to trade for something REALLY COOL:
Sylph/Paragon of the Society/Elemental Dilettante
Undine/Paragon of the Society/Elemental Dilettante
Want:
I'm open for anything on the first three, the Sylph and Undine(especially the Sylph) would require something like a GenCon GM boon, particularly the one with the Changeling. (I got the Tiefling I was looking for earlier already- and all I had to do was put up with six goblins!)
That's interesting, I've not seen or heard of that race before now. what's the wording on the new Boons? can a person use one New (say a new Aasimar boon) and one old (an older Tiefling boon) to make one, or does one have to use two newer boons...
One of the two boons used would need the extra text detailing the rules to merge the two into a new race option.
I've heard mention of something called Child of Chaos. If it's real, I'll trade my Sylph, Undine, Factor, and Technophobe for it.
It's a Ganzi and can be made by combining a new aasimar and new tiefling boon.
In that case...
Have:
Sylph
Undine
Factor(any rolls between 1 and 5 on a Day Job count as a 10 on the die)
Technophobe(+1 AC/Attack/Damage against robots, chance of glitching with tech items)
There's Clouded Vision, Deaf, Haunted, Lame, Tongues, Wasting as far as curses... are there any others?
I've always liked Legalistic, from Blood of Fiends. No real benefits or drawbacks, just that you can't break your word without getting sick. With some careful choices of phrasing, you may never notice the curse.
Once again, it's always a good time when Mikra Blackiron is around.
Voice in the Void:
So the basement of the Blakros Museum is a loop. We enter the left door, smash a giant T-Rex, blow up some black puddings, ignore the mushrooms asking us weird questions(Do oranges have feelings?), and keep walking.
Eventually we come to the room that connects to the door on the right-hand side of the entrance hall. As the party member with both decent AC and darkvision, I walk into the room. I am almost instantly downed by the flanking gargoyles. We have a really great healer, no big deal, someone else takes the AOOs and I crawl out of the room before they can hit me again. On my next turn, I am mostly healed, but still on the ground. One gargoyle is left. Anyone who read my previous story knows where this is going.
Still lying on the ground, the skald coughs, and with all the ferocity of a dying dwarf... The gargoyle is demoralized and takes 9 points of fire damage. A shame it passed the reflex save.
During the 'earn money' phase, my team wound up in an arena fighting a cryohydra. Remembering that hydras don't like fire, we start trying to pull out fire attacks, without much luck. On her turn, rather than raging as normal, the skald glares up at the hydra, yells "F*** YOU, BUDDY", and it spontaneously combusts. Blistering Invective. Great spell.
There's no rule saying you have to use the same crossbow for Rapid Reload and Crossbow Mastery. If you do, it no longer provokes to reload, but Bolt Aces already have that. I've been using a Repeating Heavy Crossbow on mine, and I've been enjoying it.
I'm liking the idea of Warpriest. Their big thing is self-buffing. Use Fervor to cast a self-buff as a swift action with no somatic component and no requirement for a free hand. For the first four levels, you'll have about as many spells as you have uses of fervor, so you can focus on the buffs. Later you can grab utility spells.
With four levels, you can start adding enhancements to your weapons. If your crossbow is already +1, you're ready to throw on flaming or frost or one of several other extra-damage and/or DR-bypassing goodies.
They also get blessings, which look (and probably are) just like the clerical domain powers without the extra spells.
We can look at it this weekend if you're coming home. ;)
Thanks, Dad. Honestly, Zohls has pretty boring blessings, but Travel gets the 5 foot step thing and Good has a decent buff.

you could start taking levels in Kineticist
I don't have a copy of OA yet. It looks okay, but nothing has really impressed me enough to actually buy it.
I've got a character who's unexpectedly at level 7 due to playing a certain module this weekend. I know that there's nothing really worth it past five levels of Bolt Ace, so I'm thinking about multiclassing.
Stats:
Str 12
Dex 19(21 with Belt of Incredible Dex)
Con 14
Int 10
Wis 14
Cha 8
Human, LG follower of Zohls(LG Empyreal Lord of investigation), uses a Repeating Heavy Crossbow.
Here are the classes I've been considering and their pros and cons:
Unchained Rogue-
Pros: Sneak attack, more melee potential
Cons: Reduced BAB, ranged sneak attack sucks, doesn't sound like as much fun
Cleric-
Pros: Casting based on Wisdom, Travel domain shenanigans
Cons: Can't channel worth crap, not a huge fan of prepared casters
Warpriest-
Pros: Casting based on Wisdom, free Weapon Focus, Blessings
Cons: I don't really understand how this class works, would have to study
Inquisitor-
Pros: Spontaneous Wisdom caster, Judgment
Cons: I already have two Inquisitors. I really don't need another.
I also have a ridiculous sum of money, as one does after gaining three levels without spending anything. Basically, help me figure out how to make this character cooler.
I've played Lirianne the gunslinger at 4 and 7 due to not having the right level character, Jirelle the swashbuckler as a GM for a 3 player Silverhex table(wound up being the tank when Amiri went down in Crash), 7th level Seelah for both parts of Rats of Round Mountain, plus Poog and Reta.
Hall of the Flesh Eaters is really nice and geometric, aside from the opening bit which can basically be made up(and comes in flipmat form if you can find it).
Forgotten Realms. Last time I was forced into D&D, I played Merisiel, who had been tragically ripped from her home plane. (It was a terrible game, but not because of that.)
Would you rather play only randomly generated characters, or characters built by a small child with no understanding of the mechanics?
I haven't posted this yet? Huh.
One of my new favorite characters is an Inquisitor of Cayden Cailean who heads up a small order of worshippers who are basically chaotic good frat boys(I'll post about them eventually).
He's an Archon-Blooded Aasimar. His ancestors don't approve of what he does.
I have a boon that gives my inquisitor access to an axe beak as an animal companion or mount. I've never played a character with a companion/mount, so what would be the best way to work it in? I was thinking about taking a level in something that gives access, but I don't know what.
