"I feel like i am stating the obvious here but we don't exactly look like the hired help. And dwarves and elves are well known enemies of chaos and its beastmen servants. I highly doubt any beastmen sympathizers will trust us with their plan. If there are beastmen that need killing I can help that, but convincing human servants to trust me isn't in my normal repertoire. "

Artor actually has less of a problem with her being an elf than her being a mage. Dwarves are naturally untrusting of mages. I also figured out how to deal with more of Artor's spells when he eventually gets them. Some kind of temporary rune activation. Like maybe the runes are imperfectly done and only function for short periods before requiring touch ups. After all dwarves in warhammer may hate magic and not be able to use it, but their runes can mimic a lot of low level magic.

"wait your turn, Mage. I already challenged this self-righteous git. So your fight will have to follow mine if it come to that. Not that a second fight would be required as his sword is probably as sharp as his mind, which leaves me little to fear. Or he could pick up that glass of beer I kindly offered him and prove my beliefs about his intelligence wrong. In which case no fighting will be needed."

"Did wood elves loose their brains as well as their dignity when they "bonded" with the forest? No one is saying we ignore this problem, just that we take a bit of time to do this other job first as it actually pays money. Oh, wait, you foresty types may not understand the concept. I will break it down for you; us civilized folk use this thing called money, usually in the form of precious metals to pay for items instead of bartering like savage woodland tribesmen. Now that we have that sorted, if we need anything to help our cause, like say supplies or mercenaries, we have to pay them, instead of just asking nicely and offering some choice leaves that they can use "medicinally" later, or however you barter with other elves. But as I said before you can go off and get yourself killed for all I care at this point, it will save your self-righteous prattle from everyone else involved. Now you can either sit down, shut up, accept the plan and my kindly offered dwarven beer, or I spill your blood in the street this very hour and maybe the headache you have given me will go away." Tread carefully wood elf, the dwarf has had enough of your self-righteousness.

couldn't hurt to see if we can track down more people. 3 person parties can be rough, as if things go south they go south quick. Dwarves and Elves rarely get along well in warhammer, in fact you are probably the only reason artor isn't fighting with elf cough

"it is the way of the Dwarves to be pragmatic and prepared. Maybe your forest would be better protected if your kind was the same rather than charging ahead with no plan or resources. But go off get yourself killed if you really want to, at least then at least my mercenaries won't have to listen to your self righteous prattle as they hunt down the fell denizens of chaos."

"And if we encounter more trouble than the three of us can handle beardless one? Hard mercenaries require hard money to pay them, and unless you have some hidden wealth I am not seeing, none of us have such ready money. Is it not better to take some time to be prepared then blunder forward without a plan?"

"I have no immediate need of coin and the taint of chaos is ever a danger. But the money has a defined timeline while this other matter does not. And depending on the nature of these threat we may be glad of some coin in the future, so I say we make some easy money first."

"It sounds like an excellent way to make some coin. Just let me nail this notice about orcs here."

"well met. I am Artor. The tavern here probably doesn't have good drinks, but they will have drinks which is good enough for now. Do you know anyone in this town? I was tracking a pack of orcs that entered the forest, unfortunately I lost their trail in the storm last and wish to warn the locals." Artor looks prepared for whatever journeys he has made to reach this location. He has a walking staff in hand, a large crossbow and quiver on his back, and a pair of hand-axes pushed through his belt. Neither his scail mail or clothes are new, but both are in good condition. His mostly empty pack is over one shoulder so he can easily get to his crossbow if needed. He is around his mid 30s and has a great beard that has likely never even been trimmed. .

Origin 1d10 ⇒ 10 Tribal Marauder Personality trait 1d8 ⇒ 4 I have a lesson in every situation, drawn from observing nature. Ideal 1d6 ⇒ 2 Greater good, it is each person's responsibility to make the most happiness for the whole clan. Bond 1d6 ⇒ 3 I will bring terrible wrath on the evildoers who destroyed my home. Flaw 1d6 ⇒ 1 I am too enamoured with dwarven ale. So we have a dwarf ranger who spends his days fighting enemies of the dwarves attempting to honour a grudge from his clan's book of grudges. He acts for the greater good of his clan, but has an annoying tendency to make suggestions of following the ways of animals. He is also a borderline alcoholic. I will expand more when I have done some more research.

Artor strikes back at the creature. 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 for 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 dmg. Confirmation roll 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 for 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 I am almost thinking Artor should take a level of barbarian so he can truely rage against all the creatures that want to eat him.
