Arnold gladly accompanies Mykel and anyone else. "That went well! Hopefully it paves the way to our acquiring some Elixir or something. And then a horde of Aspis mercenaries could burst in to steal it, and I'd finally be of use."

Arnold finds himself once again too slow. "Good work, team!" He picks out a book if there are enough for everyone, but isn't able to decipher it. "I think Ofarah would have mentioned if there was another recent visitor, right?"

We're nearly always sharing space; I put a token down.

Arnold is loath to back up and charge with these creatures menacing his allies, but they're competent. The cylindrical attachment roars to life as mount and rider are practically hurled backward. Both get over the initial shock, and take to the air. "Give me a moment, I'll spear right through 'em!"

Arnold activates Dragon Style, Friz fires up the jetpack and withdraws. Should be safe against AoOs barring exceptional reach. Are these two at ground level, and how high is the ceiling? I'd like to be 5 or 10 feet above their height if possible.

Arnold is puzzling over the riddle in his head, when suddenly it is solved! He nods. "That would've taken me a few hours. Onward?"

Arnold follows along, on the lookout for guardians.

Am also mounted, but it's only Medium.

"What can't he do?" Arnold marvels. "If we ever need to get up high somewhere, but not for very long, best use of resources might be this." He cranes his neck to point at his mount's back, which houses a massive cylindrical tank.

My wallaby has a jetpack.

"Incredible! The rest of this should be a breeze, then."

Arnold nods at Mykel's suggestion and prepares to forge ahead, lance at the ready.

How does our front line look? If we're confident on that score, I might move further back in the marching order. That way I can protect from a potential ambush, and charge better.

Arnold is glad to have been of help. Moreover, he's happy that there's more to do, and in a less stuffy environment. He unbinds his weapons and retrieves his wallaby ally from the stables before pronouncing himself ready.

Once he is back in a solid form, the wayang takes a bit to look around in wonder. Then he's back to business, jumping into the saddle with his lance. "Shall we? I'll leave the traps aside, but the guardians won't give me or our new friend problems."

Power Attack and Dragon Jade Ogre Style make things go crazy!

"Does this really happen often? Ugh. I suppose that's why they sent me along."

Arnold nearly crashes out of his chair at the combined surprise of an assassination and the sudden break in atmosphere. But he quickly recovers. The wayang assumes a Jade Ogre pose and hurls himself forward to sock the elf back for Ofarah.

Also, oh boy, let's see what havoc I'm about to wreak.

Arnold lurches ever so slightly as his name is called. He wasn't being inattentive, but finds himself almost frozen all the same.

"That's mostly correct, to my knowledge," he starts, drawing out the sentence to buy time. "The highest-ranked wayangs I've known were mayors or just heroes of the community. Besides myself, that is, but that wouldn't have any traction where I come from. It's not as if we have no political structure, because that's how living together works. Still, I'm sure many of you might hardly recognize it upon seeing.

"Obviously, I didn't come into the viscountcy from there. It was bestowed on me as a gift for deeds done to help Taldor. And that brings me to my opinion on the subject, which I think is shared by many of my kind. Now I can see whether it'll be met with scorn or sympathetic sighs, with some chuckles thrown in for my naivete."

The wayang takes another few seconds to clear his throat. "It mostly just confuses me."

"I'm sure taking a long listen to the Master of Scrolls would clear some of this up. But the rest is mired in things even the historians and nobles can't agree on. Why, when so many civilizations rose up, did they do so this way? Perceived threats, maybe to establish dominance over their own? What powers have these imperial engines gained and lost over time? Which iteration was best for its people, other countries?"

"Lady Ofarah mentioned some romanticism at the idea of less governance. Is that because some think the idea has merit, but could never happen in lands that have seen an empire before? I've been to Galt once, enough times that I'm not for shucking off this entire institution."

"My perception is likely skewed, as I've only ever worked in a community that solely existed for those inside. Wayangs are even now only starting to open up. The ideas I've seen here will confuse them. But I hope they'll count the other denizens of Golarion as part of their family. Because their scope is always small enough to keep family in mind."

Diplomacy/Perform: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Arnold has been honest, which resulted in some insinuations, like how the Empire doesn't much focus on its individual residents. Combined with his usual nervousness and lack of charm, hopefully it doesn't go too badly. He hopes for a loud reaction of some kind, even raucous boos, because he needs to hack. Holding a speaking voice for so long is effort.

Hmm...maybe tiger tail? Can't eat it, but it strikes me as the sort of flavor one would very grudgingly try and later on say, 'Eh, that's not too bad.' The flavor also seems like an out-of-place clash that works.

Arnold likewise watches the exchanges, but more out of dread for his inevitable turn.

Bluff: 1d20 ⇒ 9

Arnold immediately finds himself out of his depth. He finds himself stealing glances at what his more savvy allies are doing, but is still unable to copy them.

The wayang tries to find an open place next to an end seat, all the better for a bit of extra space and quiet. On the other hand, he defers his seat to any of his fellows looking to sit next to someone important. Their expertise is more important than a bit of his comfort.

Not suited for glad-handing anyway, Arnold slips off for a moment. "I'll be right back. You've got this!"

Arnold reluctantly opts to bond all of his weapons. Should any issues arise, he is perfectly capable of punching the culprit in the face. He asks the guards if his friend can accompany them. It sounds like he's trying to be annoying, until the hulking wallaby makes itself known, and his honesty shines through.

I have a noble's outfit and title from a low-level scenario. I'll need to find the exact Chronicle to see if it does anything more, maybe raises my Diplomacy above 0.

"Making nice is usually preferable to the alternative. Let's go!"

I feel bad hoping that a fight will break out. What else will I be good for at a bigwig event? Fighting and boasting about cool foes I've fought. Guess I'll dust off my noble seal.

"Where do they keep the vials during the auction? I think it'd be smartest to have them in a different city entirely."

I vaguely remember that! It's been too long since I got to play as Arnold. I can now fly and do some other absurd stuff.

If your character were a famous painting, which would it be?: I'm no art buff! I looked through a lot of paintings involving jousts and astronomy, but couldn't find more information on the ones I liked.

Arnold is here! A level 8 mostly-fighter who goes in mounted on his familiar. Looks as if we have a lot of melee, most more skilled than I, so I'll bow out if needed.

I'd like to play that! If the scenario isn't too combat-focused, Arnold won't be very effective. But he does like to roleplay all the same.

I'm still up for a game! A lot of mine have wound down and I do want to play Arnold more.

For all his talk against it, Arnold joins in to help. His tough nature is offset by his extreme squeamishness throughout.

"Ugh, Doormouse...what?" Arnold is suddenly seized by the desire to turn away, and remembers to get himself healed.

"I hope not," Arnold says. "It'd likely be something awful, like flagellation. And I feel like I've done enough bad today, despite the problems we've solved." The wayang starts poking around the room for an alternative, ready to backtrack if need be.

"I'm willing to give the place another once-over if it means avoiding this. I don't suppose our magic can trace the letter that oaf got?"

"Good riddance," Arnold says, shaking off residual acid.

When the ioun stones appear, the wayang looks uneasy. "The Venture-Captain who mentored me often espoused doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. I think he was including things of this scale. But it still seems...I don't know." He follows suit if anyone else accepts a stone. But either way, he isn't entirely discounting the option.

Arnold takes the full blast, but his mount is fine. He takes a parting swipe at the archon before rising into the air.

Will activate my jetpack and move to my new spot, 20 feet up if Naroth still stands. Here's my tumble against the archon if it's still around.

Arnold reels and tries to free the archons by banishing them back to Heaven. With a chainsaw.

Arnold's steadfast wallaby is hampered by the fog, but the wayang can still guide her about. He pulls the cord on his chainsaw and it spins to life with a roar.

Swift action for Dragon Style, move to activate Martial Flexibility (Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Chainsaw)), standard to activate it.

Might as well try this time.

My plan is just to leave the lance for now, I'd have to make saves every round even if I got the first one.

Arnold requisitions the help of any spellcaster not otherwise preparing. He hopes Create Water might help with this issue, but doesn't bank on it. If the lance remains greasy, the wayang sticks it in the ground and pulls out his new chainsaw instead.

Definitely using new rolls if that's the case.

Arnold waits patiently for as long as his comrades need to power up.

I'll hold off on my delayed action until we see their positions or new allies. Would you like me to make new rolls when the time comes?
