Too bad it did not work out. Maybe see some of you in other games on the boards...

"Great idea Admiral. I can try and see what I can pickup on the open channels. Maybe we can come out of this with someone owing us!"

Allen sits at the Comms seat and starts trying to adjust the system to pickup automatic responses.

Comms: 2d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6, 1) + 1 + 1 = 9

"Well I suppose I will. It seems like the quietest time and will give me a little hands-on with this vessel. Who should I notify once I am relieved? Also, I will stay near the bridge as well...communications and all that...plus I would only stink up one of those fancy suites..best keep them for the paying customers!"

He smiles at his own joke as he puts his gear away and heads to the bridge.

"Well let's just get there and sort out who does what once we are there. I am not too worried about the actors...except getting sued if they die...it is the mercs that have me worried."

The ex-con fiddles with his computer cuff as he also checks his shotgun's expanded magazine.

"Uh-oh!! We got some problems!"

Allen goes on and tells the others about the crews of the two ships they are following.

"So we are either going to be pulling our punches for a bunch of trid-actors, or shooting it out with a grim band of trigger happy mercs!!"

I figured it was something like that..where our system would update the newest info whenever we made port...I suppose the next search will be on the names of the ship owners, if possible.

Computer: 2d6 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 12 (Unforgivables)
2d6 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 12 (Bullet Company)

"Shoot me the names and transponder codes and I'll query the Port Authority and see what we have!"

Computer: 2d6 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 15
(Skill+Attribute+Equipment)

"I am sure we can find some rather small and valuable items that may need to travel from one system to another. But we can also maybe clear out some space and use it for more storage...like maybe one of the suites? Sorry I am not a spacey type, but perhaps I can help make the connections to get these items!"

"Well, well, well...just look at this place! Never been in such a posh ship before. Can see why you rich types like to keep the rest of us down! Just joking, but still, very nice digs!"

The ex-criminal walks around the salon and peeks his head into some of the luxurious rooms muttering to himself about the toiletries being worth more than his entire neighbourhood's combined yearly income!

"So we are gonna become servants to the rich and famous! Sounds good to me...I like taking money from the rich but I am not the kind to bow and grovel for their entertainment. I'ves got dignity and such you know!"

Yeah, let's check it out. This is my first time on a ship like this...I want to see how the "other" half live!"

He grabs his duffle and hardcase of computer parts and follows the ex-scout to examine the rest of the yacht.

"Yeah those rooms are huge! I could fit everything I own in one small corner. In fact, I was just going to setup a cot in the computer core so I could tinker with the systems!"

I was thinking of spoofing the system so that it looked like we had permission to examine the wreck from some part of the government or perhaps from an imperial source. Not too sure we have that much time to do it...even if I do try to speed it up, but it could solve some of our problems about worrying about what the planetary government might think :-)

Is it possible to hack into the port's system to post a fake flight plan and give us "special" status from the government so our flight is given privileged status?

Allen logs onto his computer to see what he can find out from the control and get a feeling as to what is happening.

Computers: 2d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5, 6) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 17
(+3 skill. +2 equipment, +1 Int)

Allen is trying to access the space control system to see what he can find out about the other ships in the system and what might be moving out towards the ancient warship

Unfortunately, besides Sensors-1 and Pilot-1, Allen does not have any space skills....

Allen returns to the ship and immediately syncs up his neural system to the ship's internet comms. Once that is complete he has his computer tie into the ships systems as well.

"Ok, all hooked up and ready to go!", he sends over the internal comms

Hearing the ping of his audio pickups, Allen mentally reviews the message from Rion and snorts in amusement. He clicks his tongue then returns the following message.

"No worries chief and sorry for the toe stomping. I caught the reference to the computer caper and unless you can pick me up a TL-13 or higher system with level 3 intrusion software, we will have to make do with my rig!"

I am still in the diner am I not?? A little confused on locations and time at the moment...if not then he will also send a pin as to where they should also meetup so he can at least offer some protection from the thugs at the bar

"No need to get all riled up. We'll take yer job and you others can pound sand! Now where do I sign??"

The big man gets up and stands beside their new partner, blocking the view of others from his companions at the table. He whispers.

"We take it now or we forfeit, is that right Mr. Braun? Well I say we jump onboard and get out of town ASAP before any of these claim jumpers move on our payday!"

Recon: 2d6 + 0 + 1 ⇒ (3, 2) + 0 + 1 = 6

Allen looks around but does not notice anything out of the ordinary. He shrugs and defers to Jason and his observations.

"Hey man! Glad you could make it. Grab a seat and let me introduce you around."
Allen introduces their newest member around the table before handing him a bottle and sitting down once again.

"So, I think we are all here now...what next?"

"Yeah, I know him. He saved my bacon a few years ago. Good kid, if a little wet behind the ears, but willing to learn and...well...younger..hehe"

I’ll take Comms then. I can patch it all through my neural comm system.

connection sounds great to me Jagger. Now where are we in choosing from the package?? I do not really need pilot (already have Starship 1) but could take comms 1 as I do not already have it. I was going to take sensors but it looks like it was already nabbed.. :-)

Well your agent term 4 and my agent term 6 would allow us to both know each other...we both belonged to the same police unit and while I was injured you were luck enough to get out and succeed in the operation..

ok..well I will stay with the TL-10 Neural Comm and pick up a mini-computer that straps to my wrist (easy for Tech 11) will give me more money for fun programs :-)

well the Neural comm is not a problem, but the wafer jack is a TL12...anyway I can use my underworld knowledge or agent contact to perhaps gain access to one??

Same here...still need to know if I am ok with the wafer jack and neural comm.

Yeah that works for me too...let the people that want a certain skill have it...there are plenty of others available!! And as it does not add to existing skills it is somewhat limited to people looking to gain a new skill or bump a 0 to a 1.

OK then, unless someone has another strong desire for a package, I saw we go with the Traveller. There are enough skills there for us each to choose 2 extra skills if needed and it should give us a good selection. What do you all think??
(Not trying to take over anyone choice, just want to move along to playing!! :-) )

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well for my 2cr I think the Traveller package has most of the things we might need...including gunner and medic. I would probably take Stealth out of that package if it were taken.

Ah...yes, you are right. I was thinking of the older system where you take Electrical then specialize in Comms or Computers or whatever...like Engineering. I will correct it to just computers...thanks for pointing that out

Maybe I will take Computers from both contacts and then stealth from the package??

I think I might be Badger from the series lol

could be the NEW Firefly...lol

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Yup...with a 3 in melee (unarmed), he should be able to train you pretty well

I like the Investigation Package...it seems to have a wide variety of skills....My two from contacts will be computers 1 and carousing 1. If I can only take one for the package I would grab Computers again...giving me Computers 4. I also am wondering if it is possible to get wafer jack and neural comm implanted (Possibly using rogue connections to receive a TL-13 model ?? :-) lol

Alex perhaps your sixth term could fit with mine...I was investigating something at the local naval downport and needed your help...or maybe you came to us for outside support...and I was wounded during the climax of the investigation/take down. What do you think?

I am ok with the marine...gives us a little more muscle which I am sure we will need. I like your 3rd term crime event, but mine is Good Fortune...so maybe somehow we are interconnected. Maybe you helped me escape my dilemma but by doing so you lost some standing (Soc -1), leaving me deep in your debt. Or something along those lines!

"...so there I was, all alone in the capital building having just been turned down for a position with the planetary security force and with no prospects. Suddenly this police captain shows up and asks me if I was still looking for work...and bamb! suddenly I am working for the city police force!"

Chuckling at his own story, Allen looks over the group at the table with him. Some he knows, but the others he has only just met. Leaning back he watches the others to see how they react to his revelation he was a cop.

Well who is still here to play?? We might need to alter our connections with 2 people leaving??

OK..so it looks like I have 2 players that want to use me for their connection, but also on the same Term. That could be very interesting. I figured I planned and executed the heist plan with Aranda, and then Lucian was there to help in my escape?? Is that possible? Either way, I will be taking Computer-1 from one of you and Carousing-1 from the other :-) On our group package I would also like to take Computer if it is available...

Ah cool...target practice!! lol

Daniel has unveiled my second favorite yacht!

Totally love the Destiny though.
LOL
probably love the 41% ownership more tho.
WOW

Ok...so what is your favourite yacht??

I call dibs on one of the executive suites....lol

Axel: Are you using the Mongoose 2nd edition or first? I thought we were using the 1st edition...if not I might have to rework my character as I did it all in 1st edition. In 1st edition a 7+ is a Corsair...they removed this in 2nd edition.

Ok...this is Daniel. Here is my mostly finished character. Still need to make the background as well as add 2 connection skills (Lucian and ?) and take skill from group package.

Al also examines the remains after putting his revolver away.

”So…what do we have here? Some sort of security or spying device??

Allan spent part of the night speaking to some of his friends in the bar before heading to bed. In the morning he gathers up his gear and meets the others outside.

"Hope you all had a good night's sleep. Let's get going and your right P'Reena, we will need to be very careful!"

Allen heads over to talk to a few of the PSH from the town that he knows. Most came from secluded compounds or hidden survival camps. He is the only one (as far as he knows) that was 'found' in a cryotube in the ruins of an ancient medical facility.

"Yeah, let's get a room...might be our last good night's sleep for a while! I'm still getting used to everything in the wild trying to eat me!"

He says this with a chuckle and smile, but also with some truth, as he was almost taken down by several 'innocent' species when he first emerged from his deep sleep.

Allen rushes off down the stairs to try and find another body to join their troop.

At the bulletin board, he sees an odd-looking creature with too many legs and the torso of some kind of cat. Shrugging, he approaches.

"Ummm...hi there. Are you looking for a job? A group of us are looking to work together to find a missing person in an old ancient's ruin. Interested?"

Allen watches as the strange vegetation seems to follow them up the stairs. The turtle stares at this newcomer for a few seconds before moving forward.

"Ummm...hello there plant. can we help you?"
