When Garrath breaks into the house, he sees Aldern and then Iesha transform from their human appearance to a faceless mass with very long arms. They did not seem surprised by Garrath's action, as though they had anticipated it.(Ten Foot Reach.)

"Thank you," Aldern shuts the door.

"Demolished!" the woman exclaims as she moves into the living room.

GM Screen:
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 2 + 10 = 21

"They are not demolishing our home, Iesha,"Aldern looks at the woman as he moves into the living room. He then turns toward the man at the door, "Mr. Anderson is it? Come in and let us discuss this further.

Aldern becomes sad and more despondent by Lyr’s response, almost like a spoiled child being denied a cookie before his meal. He will continue to make small talk, mostly about Magnimar, in a low key tone for the remainder of the ride.

With boar in hand, you make your way back to Sandpoint. Aldern talks about his townhouse in Magnimar, the Great Irespan, the vast Monuments and other sights in the big city. He goes on and on about Magnimar through the return trip to Sandpoint.

Lyr only:
When Aldern gets an opportunity, he privately ask Lyr, ”Come with me to Magnimar. I can show you the city. I have a townhouse in the Grand Arch District. It is a much better place than this little Sandpoint. What do you say?”

As Garrath dismounts and rushes toward the boar, and Kelvin misses with a bow shot, Brandark cleaves into beast with his new Waraxe. Its squealing quickly ends as Abacus stomps upon the wild hog.

Aldern Foxglove dismounts and races to see the action, only to miss the final blow. ”Bravo. Bravo. Well done. Let’s dress this boar and get it back to the Tavern. We’re going to have hog tonight,” the young man proclaims as he heads back to his horse.

GM note: The “Boar Hunt” was not designed to test the prowess of the party. It is more an opportunity for RP in a setting outside of Sandpoint. I also wanted to see mounted actions in a PBP setting, and learn from it. Much of Burnt Offerings is around Sandpoint, but not all. Also I have plans for side adventures not in the AP that will require being on horseback. And finally I wanted a glimpse to see the Cavalier in action.

Aldern Foxglove is attentive and appreciative of the conversation. He sees Garrath's Falchion as a bit overwhelming, but the Scimitar was more to his liking. He asks Garrath if he could hold the smaller blade.

With Lyr, Aldern is less talkative taking in every word she says. "That weapon is as mighty as Garrath's Falchion. And to be wielded from one with such beauty is fantastic to behold," Lyr can sense his growing infatuation.

"No. No, great lady. Please continue," this is exactly the conversations he had hoped for.

It is about an hour and a half ride to the Tickwood Forest. Along the ride, Alden Foxglove is interested in the party’s adventures. ”Where do you hail from? Are there many Goblins from where you are from? What is your favorite weapon and why? “ The primary focus of his questioning seems to be a greater understanding of what it takes to be a hero.

"Lyr" wrote:
Lyr looks doubtfully at the noble man. I will accompany you, she says slowly, Though I am not sure yet whether I will participate.

"Just your presence is enough," Aldern is very pleased that you will be riding along.

Again RP is fluid and can happen at anytime.

"Yes, yes, I would greatly enjoy your company," Aldern is clearly excited.

Aldern Foxglove eyes the party. Shortly after Ameiko’s song he comes by and hands Lyr a sack of coins. He bows gracefully, ”As promised, your reward. You saved me from certain “goblining.” He cannot help but to stare at Lyr.

There are 50 gold coins in the sack.

Looking at the rest of the party Foxglove ask, ”Tomorrow I am going on a Boar Hunt in the Tickwood Forest. I would be honored if you would all come along.”

” We can meet next door after breakfast at the Goblin Squash stables where I have my horse. We can then get your horses. If you don’t have a horse, I will buy you one. The Goblin Squash has several fine equine specimens for sale,” the young man is excited about the prospects of going hunting with the Heroes.

”Thank you! Thank you,” a young man rises from behind a barrel. He is dressed as a nobleman with finely embroidered blue top coat, silk tan waistcoat and breeches with white shirt and stockings. ”I am Aldern Foxglove, and I am in your debt, the dandy says with a slight bow.

Even after this ordeal he barely has dust on his shoes. ”I have never seen such prowess,” he then becomes transfixed on Lyr, ”especially in one so lovely.” He pulls out of this momentary trance and looks at the rest of the party, ”You all deserve a reward for your valor.”

He glances about nervously looking for more goblins, ”I will be in town for only a few more days. I am staying at the Rusty Dragon to the south. When you get a chance, stop by and I will reward you properly for saving my life.” He then carefully gathers the dog’s body and heads south, again nervously looking in all directions.
