Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Has our DM gone MIA?

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

All I know is it's not me.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon had woken and risen without much effort, his home was far from spacious so he had slept in worse positions in his life. He lets the more combat talented ones take the lead. A wise choice when he saw the flames engulf Noro. He had no need of light to see himself but he kept that bit of information close to the vest for now. He was worried about Rook, Bishop, and Lorac. He doubted a mob would be interested in killing animals, but if they attempted to steal them then his pets would no doubt draw blood.

He followed the others outside, clicking his tongue. The sound was to low for anyone to overhear but animals had keener sense, if they could they would come.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

I think he is good, give him the once over please. I got a loud mouthed sword to shut up. ;P

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Going to have to wait til later to level Aeadon.

MVP Vote: Agreal

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Aeadon didn't know if his luck for the day had been some god's curse, but it seemed everything powerful in the damn city was finding it's way to him. He felt the magical sleep fall over him, his last thought. If I wake up as a soul, I am turning into a ghost. This is simply to much of a pathetic death. His eyes drop and so does he with a dull thump.

I don't expect to make the will save, even a nat 20 would not be enough. xP

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Aeadon put's as much space between himself and his enemies. Then cast a spell, his hand making signs as he whispered words of magic from his mind. The knowledge of a spell unraveling from his memory yet being rewoven by arcane energy into a single glowing quill held between two fingers he throws it at Szinroc. Darting with a life of it's own the quill finds it's mark without fail.

________________________________________________________________________

Magic Missile vs Szinroc: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Knowledge (Local) vs DC 12: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Perception vs DC 15: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

Aeadon felt it was time to speak.

"Have you considered Gazerich's affiliation with the Sczarni. You can't have duel loyalties in such organizations. We could use him to start some bad blood between the two rather then allow any sort of beneficial relationship to grow. Should Gazerich perish in the crossfire each will blame the other for it. It may even trigger aggressions between both groups. Weakening them and drawing attention from the city guard even. Just a thought."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

He didn't show anything, seemed Maldrek had put together some of the pieces. But the puzzle was yet complete as he saw it, he wondered if Milax would pick them up, choose her own path, or make them both one and the same. He simply kept observing, the information swimming in hos mind.

Maldrek you know that spell has V and S components. We can see you. xP

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Knowledge (Nobility) vs DC 12: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

Aeadon notices the crest and who it belongs to, seemed big and troublesome to him. Some people you avoid stealing from in his mind, then again it depended on what they had. He kept the information in the back of his mind for now.

Concerning suggestions on how to deal with the barber's and Gazerich, he would hang back for now. Let others speak to see if they had any worthy idea's. Granted he did think there was an interesting way to handle things. Then again he did not favor combat as others among them did.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon had been forced, that was the prime word in fact, into a most unwelcome position. He needed a way to deflect her interest without insulting her. He certainly was not about to lie to the no doubt perceptive assassin but lies were for the uncreative in his mind.

"You flatter me Mistress Synthia. I am a little ashamed to admit while my business has been doing well I can not afford a truly fine weapon. I am not much of warrior ether so such a weapon would be wasted on me. The truth is I fished this out of the trash. While I cleaned it, I would not want to take the chance of shaming myself or insulting you. I think we should remain focused on the task at hand, making our report."

Io BlackBlade:

You are fast becoming more trouble then your worth. I am starting to wonder why I do not simply sell you to Synthia, the Nex lord, or someone else. I certainly have no need of you and you are becoming hazardous to my health. I do not even know why you are so sought out. He thought back to the blade on his hip.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon waited for Maldrek to say his peace. But he did noticed Milax knew about Norvyn without anyone mentioning him. Which brought to mind why they bothered with the whole thing if she had equal or better contacts, or was spying on them. It seemed counter productive to him, they had passed their test so why did it seem to him like they were still taking it. He would have to shove that thought aside for now and prepare to report what he had when his time came. So many questions, answer one and two more appear.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

In case I was unclear Aeadon won't talk about stuff he did not take part in. Like Noro's encounter and Jiri's sneak attempt. He hates giving second hand information. ;-)

Btw why is the assassin lady looking at me. :'(

P.S. Get better and take it easy Sarvin.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon wordlessly sits, not touching his drink. He was tired of jumping in when others spoke out of turn. He doubted Milax was the type let lessons go unlearned but then again what did he know really. For now he would simply observe.

Io BlackBlade:

Knowledge (History) vs Xander: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Knowledge (Local) vs Xander: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

He does not spare Synthia a look or Io, wanting to provoke nothing. Still he thinks at the blade. I try not to get on anyone's bad side. Least of all people I know are more powerful then myself. Whatever problem she had with your partner has nothing to do with me or you as well. Clearly she resolved it anyways.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon tied up his mount and set his two dogs to guard duty. Then again only someone with a death wish would try to steal from the Crimson Coin. He followed Milax in, he was fairly confident they had enough to satisfy her.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Io Blackblade:

Well don't you have a lot of magic. I suppose keeping you won't hurt. Don't worry I will keep you clean and unless things have gone very wrong I should have no need to use you. He belts the scimitar.

Turning to the others.

"Now we have a map for Milax. Our report should not be as shallow as before."

Before any more visitors or magical items can appear he mounts his camel.

"Shall we go before we are accused of tardiness."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon pulls something out of the garbage again, casting a cleaning spell on it as well. Then casting a detection spell and examining the sword. He would feel better knowing more about it.

Appraise: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

"I think we have our map now."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

He nods to Agreal, considering the matter closed.

"Fair enough."

At Grriks question he brings up the blade.

"Working on it."

Aeadon is examining the now clean blade but speaks up none the less on the matter with Noro.

"The barbers are a becoming a thorn in all our sides. They need to learn that they are not the only group with ability. How they learn that lesson I leave up to our superiors."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon looks truly annoyed by it all.

"I have already explained. This is talking to me telepathically. Unlike the map it is not inside Norvyn's home. Taking something that is considered trash on the street is not theft, nether is it in any way punishable by law. As to the unprovoked actions of Agreal I have no explanation. Rook and Bishop are guard dogs, is it surprising that they attack someone who cast a spell at me from behind. Had I not signaled them they would have killed him or die in the effort."

Taking a deep breath his face returns to normal.

"My own patience is wearing thin, so excuse my curtness. I may have failed to mention that the sword is offering a map of the sewers in turn. Simply for the service I have already granted. A fair trade by far I think."

That's what I get for making short post. Well got some RP out of it. :)

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon recast his spell, drying himself instantly. His dogs were already moving in growling at Agreal. He clicks his tongue to stop the attack.

"I won't stop them a second time. If you wish to leave do so."

On phone so excuse my short post. :'(

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon picks something out of the refuse with his gloved hand and cast a prestidigitation spell on it. He figured something wanting to be left alone could not be to bad.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Scimitar:

Again he attempts to speak with his mind to it. I am well aware of where you are. But I will not pick you up unless I know what you are. He knew enough about magical items to know some were cursed or could be evil. He had no desire to be on the receiving end of ether, a self aware item would find a nex lord hard to possesses. But the average person like himself or his associates would make far easier puppets.

Aeadon looks over at the Shoanti. Norvyn was popular these days.

"He is currently in the sewers working. I wouldn't advise following him as it is a maze down there."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

"That was the plan, then something started talking to me telepathically. You can understand my concern."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

I got the devil's luck I tell you. xP

Aeadon looks at the refuse pile, thinking for a moment. He dismounts sending his own thoughts at it. I think an explanation is in order. As I am not trusting of magical weapons with a mind of their own. Let us be honest even those without a mind of their own can be harmful to someone picking them up carelessly. He then speaks aloud to the others.

"I think I know what they were looking for. Allow me a few moments to confirm."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon looks over at the man that seemed determined to undermine everything. He wondered if he was perhaps better suited as a barber then a smoke knight.

"Norvyn would notice as he did with everything stolen from him. It would lead back to us and by extension our job. I am not in the habit of leaving a trail or backstabbing my associates."

He gives a click of his tongue, both dogs flanking his mount.

"We should report and let our employers make of it what they will."

He kept a slight eye on the guards that remained. Last thing they needed was to be overheard with careless words. No doubt the guards could use anything they picked up in trade for their master or own benefit.

Edit- Got ninja'ed, oh well still works. ;)

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon gets on his camel.

"Well today seems highly unproductive. Unless someone else has a lead I guess we report."

He swore the whole city was against them. Simply preparing for the job was more trouble then the job itself. Seeing as two groups had seen them along with the trouble of the barbers. He questioned if the whole thing would not be called off. At least they would play no part sense so much attention had been drawn to them. If that was the case he would get no share or a small one. Damn the barbers and damn enchanters who did not have the sense to simply pay for services rather then magically compel them.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon looks at the man, seeing things were not going to go the way he wanted he simply shrugged.

"No one of importance."

Looking over at Norvyn.

"I will make you one trap after I get the map. If it turns out to play a part in my job I will make you another. I think that is fair Norvyn. If you agree please give me the map and I will take no more of you or your employers time."

He would see how his own employers took the information. If it proved of no use to them then he would inform the Varlokkur. He had no reason to side with the entitled types, Norvyn held more value to him then Rixanorthoz. In fact the ratfolk did as well.

Nimon wrote:

DoYou live in America? would you know a service medal on site? I was four years in the military and I only know the ones related to my branch of service.

I don't know if I agree with that. Gold pins in Absalom are not service medals but rather closer to status symbols. Everyone who gets a service medal does not get a stone bust in the largest arena in the world for all to see. They are not known city wide and treated with respect by the social powers of said city too. Which nobles would be considered social powers I think.

I will say I have never met anyone who did not know what a purple heart is in real life. So some medals I think are important enough to be known by all.

Anyways will post in a bit.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

I know the spoiler without opening it, why would nobles of Absalom or anyone that lives there for a few years not know what that pin means?

Also just want to know if suggestion is legal. Cause it seems like your saying it is. But seeing as it's a spell that makes people do what you say, so long as it is not obviously harmful. I would consider that illegal in anything but self defense. Trade city after all, silver tongues are bad enough. :P

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon did not like being forced into things but sometimes no choice was left. He ignores the half orc speaking to Rixanorthoz before things got ugly for everyone.

Osiriani:

"I am sure you are aware that certain spells are against the law in Absalom. That the Varlokkur punish those that break such laws without exception."

He figured the man was smart enough to get the meaning that he was giving him a chance to bargain. While Norvyn was a good contact his magically compelled servitude was a minor thing. Nothing harmful to the man but very harmful to the controller.

Edit- What gives there was a post from Agreal before.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Spellcraft vs DC 10: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

Aeadon clears his throat a bit loudly. Before giving a slight bow and addressing Master Rixanothoz.

Osiriani:

"Some would find it some what insulting to have a message spell used in their presence, excluding them as such. If not suspicious to say the least Master Rixanorthoz. I am sure a man such as you are guilty of nether intent. If you wish to know our purpose, it would be more prudent to simply ask us directly. That is if Norvyn is your work, pardon, working for you. After all we dropped by unannounced seeking aid with our own work."

His face remains politely neutral. But his mind was thinking of how to work things to their advantage. He would need a measure of the man before things could move forward in a way that would benefit them.

I think Nex main tongue is Osiriani, if not consider it draconic. No mage should be unable to speak draconic. x3

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon quickly takes in the information, this boss was a good suspect. Just as he is about to answer Norvyn a new arrival appears.

Knowledge (local) vs DC 10: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Knowledge (nobility) vs DC 12: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

So it seemed he had all the answers he needed. Master Rixanorthoz was behind it all. His purpose was still unknown but his methods had been exposed. He could use that, enchantment spells were not something one used often in Absalom. Not with the Varlokkur around to enforce judgments and punishments. Something he took into account himself as certain spells were outright illegal to use. Speaking to Norvyn.

"I will try to smooth things over and explain it to him so you won't get in trouble. It is our fault for keeping you after all and we were unexpected."

Turning to the others.

"As the caller said that's Master Rixanorthoz. Vice Nomarch and enchanter from the foreign district with ties to the arclords of nex. Do be on your best behavior as it would be very bad to insult him in any way."

His eye falls on Gerrik for a moment, his dogs had their teeth hidden but had kept an eye on him from time to time.

Love my mods. x3

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon rubs his brow a moment before looking at Gerrik. Snapping his fingers and pointing at him. His two guard dogs instantly turn towards Gerrik baring teeth but not letting out a sound, they stare the man down. There is no doubt that they would attack given provocation or orders.

"Gerrik if you can not be civil then your free to leave. I certainly will not forgive disrespect to Norvyn when he has done nothing to warrant it."

Letting his gaze linger a moment on the tactless man he looks back at Norvyn.

"Friends is a bit of an overstatement. I am sure you don't call everyone you work with friends Norvyn. I know I have dropped by unannounced and apologize for it but I was just wondering if you could help me out. I was also wondering how you had been. Been hearing some rumors going around and was concerned is all. I certainly was not making any demands of you. Asked if you met with anyone else today and your troubles but certainly not demanding anything."

Diplomacy vs Norvyn: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon replies in kind.

Infernal:

"I am aware of that. But that sort of magic does not last long. They also have to get close to cast it. So ether it's the ratfolk who steal it or someone else. Best to try and find out."

Looking back at Norvyn.

"Sorry about that, anyways Norvyn. Have you had any dealings or visitors besides us lately. Or are the ratfolk the only ones you have been suffering from today?

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

What the heck at this rate I will never use a hero point. Can't make it without it anyways. x3

Hero Point: Sense Motive vs DC 22: 1d20 + 1 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 1 + 8 = 26

Aeadon looks over the man carefully wondering if his game was deeper then just a round about bribe or favor. He sensed something was off even for Norvyn, that was saying something, he kept looking over things. Studying things for more information.

Edit-Watch me get a nat 1 now. xP

Spellcraft vs DC 15: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon eyes his home.

"Norvyn do you think you could lend it to me or at least let me make a copy. If you fetch the map I can fetch my tools to copy it."

He motions to his camel. He wanted to avoid entering that home at all cost, it could be the end of his sense of smell if he could not he feared.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon chooses his words carefully.

"We may or may not get a job that involves us going down there. Thought it best to know what we are getting into. See if the pay is worth it you know."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon closes his eyes to endure the smell, otherwise shows no sign of it. Clearing his throat, and nostrils, he replies to Norvyn.

"That's fine we would not want to intrude, it is more spacious out here. As to your suit, I would test it thoroughly in shallow water before attempting anything serious. That aside, I was wondering if you knew anything about the sewers of a certain location."

He goes on to explain the general area of the target, without giving the precise location of it. No need to leave loose ends or a trail should news make it's rounds after the fact.

Diplomacy vs Norvyn: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon is ready to go, in case I am holding anything up. x3

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

He keeps an eye on them until they are out of sight, his two dogs still on guard glance at those near by.

"I would like to have something substantial to show for our efforts. I intend to find my contact and with luck he is useful. Shall we go?"

Did my linguistics roll get anything?

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Linguistics vs Orc Language: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21

Aeadon instantly picked up on the words while he tried to decipher their meaning, he knew something was going on if not the exact nature. Still he was not going to let Noro walk into something blind should she give in to his provocation.

"Your Gazerich right, seems your not only a barber but word has it you have been involved with the Sczarni recently. Interesting bit of business that is."

He readied a spell in case the orc's cover was blown. If he worked for the Sczarni his target would be Noro, getting her alone would make her death easier and their mission would be done. They wanted to ambush her and flee, dealing with a large group on even or disadvantaged terms was not their way. Not that he put it pass them.

Rolled to try and get the meaning and such, does it help that Aeadon learned Giant. ;)

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon didn't show anything on his face but his mind was whirling. They couldn't admit anything, at least he wouldn't. He would have to choose his words carefully, he was not the best liar but that did not mean he could not misdirect.

"Sorry but I doubt my business is the same as yours. Any arrangements you wish to make with this Milax the Black, I suggest you do so directly. I only ever make a habit of speaking for myself and my business is not running messages through the city for everyone who ask. They have runners for that sort of thing."

He thought about this orc, someone strong or stupid if he was trying to muscle in on Milax and the Smoke Knights.

Knowledge (Local) for Gazerich: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Trying to get info on Gazerich, at least his name sense he has yet to give it. x3

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon looks over at Noro, he had no loyalty concerning the woman but he had no reason to give her to the Barber's ether. He speaks to the half orc, he would attempt reason.

"Noro is not mine to hand over. Yet she is currently helping me with something so I can't very well have her taken away without reason. What business do you have with her?"

He remained on guard in case things went south.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Knowledge (Religion) vs DC 10: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon gives a slight click of his tongue as he spots the group moving towards him, before whispering to the others.

"We have company, act as if your my escorts and we may be able to fool them. But be on guard."

His dogs were already sensing the danger and kept a close flank to their master, ears slightly back. Yet they remained silent with teeth still not bared.

Going to assume Aeadon and gang are still around. :D

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Well unless someone else wants to chat with Aeadon I think he is ready to hunt down.....I mean find his contact and determine his usefulness in our little endeavor.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon shrugged.

"Galt once had nobles aplenty, as did Andoran. They are now but dust and bones. What point is there to a title if you can not claim it or hold it. Nobles bleed and die like any other. Kill enough of them or strip them of their wealth and they will beg those with power and coin to stand by their side. After all how did the nobles become noble. They took it, how long ago does not change this fact."

He gives a rare half smile.

"I assure you I have no romanticized view of nobility."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon's expression is blank. More like a case of unsupported arrogance and luck. Still that was easy to deal with, predictable even. As long as her goal and business stayed out of his, live and let live was his view on it.

"Well I personally have no special interest in assassination. Not that I am opposed to it ether. I wish you the best of luck, yet I would offer you some advice. Keep good allies, assassins regardless of what they call themselves. Can not survive otherwise."

He was going to leave it at that but offered one more tidbit.

"Nobility is not something you are born into, it is earned. Titles mean nothing without merit, of that I can assure you from both those who have had them and lost them."

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Aeadon uses a simple spell he had learned rather recently. Discreetly pointing to Corvus upon completion to make sure he did not to have to raise his voice enough to be overheard by any unfriendly ears.

"There is unique opportunity and access, as well as rewards. Simple enough reasons. Your own?"

Message spell

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

If no one will go swimming then Aeadon is going to go find his contact, with whoever wanted to come, and see if they are of any use. Depending on how that goes he will then report. That's his plan right now.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

"Can anyone swim well? They may be hiding something underwater as well."

He had no desire to go into the water even if he had the aquatic skills. The harbor was far from safe.
