My We be Goblins game has just lost a player! LINK We are at the very beginning of the second module so now is a good time for a new player. Current characters: Professor Zord - Cleric 3 (elder mythos cultist), Grubble Gruuu - Pyrokineticist 3, and Dogdog - Barbarian 3 (mad dog). Plus Dogdog's dog dog. What I'm looking for
15 point buy Any paizo class, summoners are unchained, no spellbooks (goblins fear writing will steal the words from their heads) normal wbl 2 traits, one must be a goblin racial trait, optional drawback for an extra trait Backround skills are in use Feat tax is in use Able to post regularly. A decision will be made by myself and the existing players based on concept/presentation as well as how well the character fits into our existing party.
The four of you, great champions of the licktoad tribe (or so you would like to think) have received an invitation to appear before His Mighty Girthness himself, Chief Rendwattle Gutwald. Being the prompt and dutiful licktoads that you are you have arrived on time and dressed in your finest (or rather an hour late and dressed in the same putrid mess as always, but you wiped some of the dirt off so its okay). Your head is filled with anticipation, and probably thoughts of gutted puppies and screaming longshanks. Before you stands the chief’s moot house. A huge hut adorned with all manner of decorations and trophies. Among many such decorations you see a full human skeleton (you’re pretty sure that wasn’t there yesterday but who knows), most of a horse, several of your former tribe members who you assume did something dreadful, and more dog bones than you can count. The chiefs advisor Slorb stands at the entrance to greet you, he slowly removes his finger from his nose as you approach and wipes it on his robe. Nobody really likes Slorb but everybody pretends to because he’s the only goblin who can handle the might of Chief Gutwald’s words without fainting from fear. He shouts out in a uncomfortably nasal voice. ”Come, come, His Mighty Girthness awaits. Yes, yes. He has big news for you fours.” I'll pause here for Physical descriptions and any inter-party dialogue (if we can call it that with goblins).
*Not for society credit, sorry* "You are goblins of the Licktoad tribe, who live deep in Brinestump Marsh, south of the hated man-town called Sandpoint. Once, other goblins tried to burn Sandpoint down, and they would have been legends if they had succeeded. But they didn’t bring enough fire, and got themselves killed as a result. Yesterday, your tribe discovered that one of your own had been using forbidden arts and was engaged in one of the greatest of taboos—writing things down. In fact, rumor holds that what he was writing was a history of your tribe! There’s no swifter way to bring about bad luck than stealing words out of your mind by writing them down, and so your tribe had no choice. You branded the goblin’s face with letters to punish him, which is why everyone calls him Scribbleface now, and then you ran him out of town, took all of his stuff, and burned down his hut. That’s where things got interesting, because before you all burned down his hut, Chief Gutwad found a weird box within the building. Inside was a map and a lot of fireworks—fireworks that immediately came to use in burning the hut down. Then, this morning, Gutwad announced that tonight there would be a feast in order to drive out any lingering bad luck from Scribbleface’s poor decisions. But perhaps even more exciting, all of you have been secretly invited to meet at Chief Gutwad’s Moot House. Why would the chief want to speak to you? It can only mean that he’s got an important mission foryou all... one that the other goblins of the tribe couldn’t pull off. This could be your chance to go down in
I'm looking for four level 1 Goblins ready to get into all sorts of trouble and possibly die terribly in a freak firework accident! We be goblins is short and very silly and I intend to play into it's goblin humor as much as I can, and so should you We won't be using the pre generated characters, although if you want to tweak one of them to be your own that's fine. I'm looking for a semi-balanced group of interesting funny goblins who will post consistently. This is very much a fluff over crunch game. -Character Creation-
15 point buy Any paizo class, summoners are unchained, no spellbooks (goblins fear writing will steal the words from their heads) Average wealth by class 2 traits, one must be a goblin racial trait, optional drawback for an extra trait Backround skills are in use Feat tax is in use
This isn't exactly a recruitment thread, I probably won't be running a game with these characters. If you're like me then making characters for a game is half the fun. I always have way more characters that I want to make then I do games that I want to join, or even have time for. So here's my pitch, post a request with as much or as little specificity as you want and I'll give you a character to build. I'll probably stick with paizo only but that's plenty of stuff to work with. "Billybrainpan give me a character!" - that's fine
Obviously I'd love to see whatever you come up with when you're done.
The four of you sit in the middle of a large ante-chamber, awaiting your audience with the king. The chamber is lavishly furnished with draperies, plush chairs and couches spread throughout in excess. The middle of the room is taken up by a low oaken table carved with elaborate wooden monsters fighting legendary heroes. There are two exits from this room. The one you came through, a fine red curtain covering the entrance to a long spiral staircase, and a large gilded door covered in ornate metal work and magical runes, it stands just a bit taller than Eloron's full height. A guard stands on either side of the door leaning on a pole axe and staring blankly ahead. This is just an intro to set an area for you all to start role-playing. I will make a longer more official post later tonight or tomorrow.
level 15
Can you all please update your characters to this format. Fluff:
Description Ilyn is tall and thin about 6'4'' and 170 pounds. He wears lightweight black clothing in several layers with an easily removable hood and facecloth. His skin is incredibly pale, almost white and his hair and eyes are jet black. He doesn't appear to carry anything with him except a quiver. Despite his appearance Ilyn is outwardly friendly and generally much more excepting than other elves. His intentions are good and he cares deeply for his companions. His methods while dark never cross the line into what he considers true evil. One thing Ilyn believes in strongly is giving a quick death. In any situation in which another being's life must be extinguished it should be done humanely. This of course does not extend to the darker beings such as demons and undead. Backstory
Ilyn never went home instead he moved to Aloran and sold his services as an assassin for higher, he drifted farther and farther into himself that he no longer cared for life, his own or anyone else. He brutally slaughtered his targets without mercy. He continued on like this until he was 115. One night Ilyn had a dream. A shadow came to him and asked "what is your greatest fear?" Ilyn didn't know how respond until the shadow morphed into him. "A great war is coming and you my son must be ready to stop it. Give up this life of evil and embrace the darkness in its truest form. Be the shadow cast by the holy light." When he awoke Ilyn packed up and left to travel the world offering his services as a scout, healer, hunter, and protector. Religion

This is very much an interest check, please be clear that i'm not sure I will try to run this.
Would people be interested in this? I'm not sure I would have the time to GM but if I do I would love to run it. I would also be perfectly willing for someone else to take my idea and run a game (although I would like to be given a spot in said campaign if they do).
Hello there everyone. I am writing a paper comparing the morality of games like pathfinder and D&D to that of reality. I have put together a quick survey and would love to get as many peoples opinions as possible. Below are the questions, if you have any other questions you would like to ask people or related things that might be helpful feel free to share. 1. Is there a direct correlation between good/evil and law/chaos? 2. Is anything inherently or irredeemably good/evil? 3. Can you know how good or bad an act is without exploring the whole scenario first? 4. Should the morality of a player affect their character? 5. Does the morality of a player affect their character? 6. Does committing an evil act make you evil? 7. Committing several evil acts in pathfinder will change your alignment to evil. How does that relate to real life? Is that an accurate portrayal of morality?
I did something like this for a game here on the boards a while ago and I really enjoyed the outcome. The idea is you post a request "hey, billy I'd like to give it a shot" or the like, and I'll post a link to an image. You have to build a character that fits the image you were given. I'll probably reuse some of the images I used last time. the rules for character creation will be pretty loose, but ill post them here. -25 pointbuy
The five of you stand in a pitch black room, or at least it seems like it is. you can see perfectly fine but there is no source of illumination. You can feel your feet on the floor but you appear to be floating in a vast black nothingness. Around stand four other people. These are the people you see. Please check in here with some sort of introduction. We will begin once everyone has checked in.
You have all been called to the counsel room with an urgent message. As you arrive a hulk of a man stands in your way. You have never seen him before, which strikes you as strange in a small camp like this. He stands in front of the door holding a massive great sword over his shoulder. HULD IT, RIGHT DER! DERS A MEEIN' EN SESHUN the man seems rather pleased with himself as he hinders your path. WAIT HERE NOW!
I just had a strange idea for an adventure. I don't imagine it will be very long but the interesting part is this.. Each player will be given an image (by me) to create their character from. I will pick the four submissions I think best suit their image for gameplay. Obviously this is a strange idea so let me know if your interested.
Im mostly just gauging interest right now but most likely it would be somewhere in the 5-10th level range.
I'm totally open to ideas so if there is a specific type of campaign you would like me to run feel free to suggest it. I'm not going to run an existing campaign though so don't ask.
Several months ago my brother started a PvP arena here on the boards. I wanted to check interest for a similar arena. Here's the catch all of the characters would be gestalt. Another possible idea I had was to have everyone submit there character with another person. this would mean that arena fights would be fought in duos. I think this would lead to some very interesting teamwork. So who might be interested in playing something like this. Please don't post characters right now although concepts are fine. Also please tell me what you think about the teamwork idea.
You awake suddenly, lying in a soft white bed. Around the room are five other people in five other beds of exactly the same make, The seventh bed is empty. The room rocks gently back and forth, and a single window looks out at the ocean. It is a plain room with nothing adorning the walls and a heavy wooden door in the corner. A walled off privy takes up one corner of the room. Everyone make a DC 15 perception check.
I am a fairly new GM and have only ever ran one pbp but I wanted to give this idea a shot. I don't want to divulge to much about the actual campaign but it is a fairly standard one.
Race (1d7):
1: Dwarf 2: Elf 3: Gnome 4: Half-elf 5: Halfing 6: Half-orc 7: Human Class (1d22):
1: Barbarian 2: Bard 3: Cleric 4: Druid 5: Fighter 6: Monk 7: Paladin 8: Ranger 9: Rogue 10: Sorcerer 11: Wizard 12: Alchemist 13: Cavalier 14: Gunslinger 15: Inquisitor 16: Magus 17: Oracle 18: Summoner 19: Witch 20: Antipaladin 21: Ninja 22: Samurai After you have rolled a class you may pick 4 archetypes and roll a d4 to decide which one you use. Alignment (1d9):
1: LG 2: NG 3: CG 4: LN 5: N 6: CN 7: LE 8: NE 9: CE re-roll any result that is not legal for your class. Ability Scores:
For ability scores Roll 2d6+6. You can't change the order your abilities are in, so your first is str and your last is cha. The exception to this rule is if you have your main casting stat below 14 or if you are a full base attack progression and your strength is below 14. If it is you may swap it with the closest 14 or higher number going down. For example a wizard rolls these scores.
Str - 15 Dex - 9 Con - 18 Int - 8 Wis - 10 Cha - 16 <--- Switch this with Int Even though there is an 18 right above it to keep the randomness you have to go down. I realize that this will make very strange characters but that is the point. I suggest looking somewhere else if you are really into optimization.
I realize that "looking for GM" posts are generally unsuccessful. However I recently had an idea for a (hopefully) really fun campaign. The reason I am asking for someone else to GM is that I just don't have very much experience. I would be wiling to co-gm with someone else. The idea I have is basically taking all the things that you can do to make a game overpowered and smashing them together.
I know that this would be very challenging to run so I understand if no one wants to.
I would really love to play a mid to high level game (10-15?). I am not a very good GM but I would love to play. Anyone who would be willing to run it. I would prefer a home-brew but anything is good as long as it is pathfinder. If you have anyone fun quirks or strange settings for your games I would love to hear about them.
Here is th link to the gameplay thread. level three. 20 point buy. core races. no evil. any class/archtype.

Elmer is a towering six armed humanoid. It's helm is open around it's jaw to reveal jagged purple - black scales and a mouth full of sharp fangs. It wears severely scarred full plate and wields a Heavy pick in each hand. enormous razor sharp claws protrude from openings in it's boots. A leather cord connects each sword to his wrists. dice:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Initiative 3
So I had an idea recently for what I think will be a really cool campaign.
