"Ragnar Stridson"
I am not 100% sure if this was my headcanon from running wotr as a GM, or if it is in the original writing, but Anevia is a crusader spy, and her trademark for such spying is being friendly, competent and aggressively sane.
Ragnar prophecy thing sparked some inquisitorial attention (the Iron Angel prophecy is explicitly Gorumite, who isnt exactly the favored god of the Mendevian inquisition), which in turn sparked the attention in turn of Anevias Eagle Watch (Anevia disapproves of quite a few of the inquisitions methods, and also has a very very strong personal no torture policy).
Anevia investigated and interviewed Ragnar (before the actual inquisition got to him), was entirely polite about it, and Ragnar, who half expected to find himself in a torture chamber, was super happy about getting an official writ of being fairly harmless.
He is very thankfull to her, considers that he owes her a favor, and tried to use his contacts with her to inform the citizenry that Ettiken is a ratfolk, and ratfolk =! Abridkandidu demons. He would accept most non directly suicidal requests from her without requiring compensation.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
"Over here. There is a choke point in the rubble that seems to lead down." Byron will make his way over and look around the point to see if it is sound to stand on before getting too close.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Marcus DePawlo
Marcus hears Yoko's request and turns to move toward her. "The spider is dead. There are some strange holes in the body though. Maybe something has been eating it?"
Approaching Yoko he replies, "I have a little bit of healing magic. Just a moment." He casts cure light wounds. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
"I only had the one healing spell prepared. Didn't think I'd need more at the festival."
Marcus DePawlo
That CLW should have been 5 points....
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt
Tanrov Marcus is examining the choke point and looks around a bit before stepping through
"I'll just step through and see"
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Byron Hasperson
"Save your arrows. If there are things that can kill a giant spider around, it might not be in it and then the arrows will be useful. And if it is in the giant spider, it probably has enough food to just leave us be for now." Byron muses
Ettiken Kozo
Ettiken's casual dismissal of the ring turns out to be largely bluff — it's worth as much as the contents of a caravan wagon. She resists the urge to pocket it; she needs these people, plus it's so obviously from a different strata of society that she'd be swiftly arrested if anyone saw it.
Ettiken has not yet processed that society has flattened quite a bit in the past hour.
bluff if it matters: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
She ignores Yoko for the moment. Everyone's a beggar now, she thinks, as she follows Tanrov, crossbow in hand.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

I am not trying to make you feel bad, but actually asking for assistance. Please take her over and
Horgus Gwerm Blackroot, if you would. He will likely be even harder for me to roleplay appropriately. So thank you in advance for helping me out.
-
My rendition is that she is in pain, stuck under a large piece of rubble, and short with the foul-mouthed noble. She also has a bit of a chip on her shoulder against him.
To truly see if the choke point is stable that would be an engineering check.
Tanrov climb check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Tanrov easily climbs down the fifteen feet to get down into the hallow inside of the rubble. Luckily not much of it collapses with him.
Yoko Mitsure
Marcus hears Yoko's request and turns to move toward her. "The spider is dead. There are some strange holes in the body though. Maybe something has been eating it?"
Approaching Yoko he replies, "I have a little bit of healing magic. Just a moment." He casts cure light wounds. 1d8+1
"I only had the one healing spell prepared. Didn't think I'd need more at the festival."
"Thank you... I am called Yoko Mitsure, just call me Mitsure. And you are?"
How exactly are you doing +5 on a cure light?
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt
Seeing the two people "Hello, I am actually a good guy, I have companions that are more fair looking who I will reveal to you once we can get them down the rocks."
Tanrov looks back at the choke point he calls out "I made it, you might want to use a rope it's a bit.. unstable"
Tanrov wil then try to attend to the woman, he tries to help her out of the rubble, moving the rubble first bit by bit and then helping her up.
"Here now that I've got that stuff away, I can move you so that we can make a brace and maybe heal you."
Marcus DePawlo
@Yoko. Sorry. I was as clear as mud again.... I meant that the CLW should have been 5, not 4. I did d8+1 instead of d8+2.
Marcus smiles at the response. "You are welcome of course Mitsure. Interesting name. My name is Marcus. Can I help you up and out of the rubble?"
Byron Hasperson
Byron climbs up to aid in freeing the woman.
Climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
"Hello, lets see about getting you freed so that we can have those with divine gifts aid you." Byron says as he aids in getting her free.
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt
I am Tanrov of the Shoanti, I will get you out of the rubble now"
Tanrov removes what rubble he can and then picks up Anevia and moves her to a slightly less rubbly place
"Does anyone know how to deal with a broken leg?" he asks the rest of the group
"Anevia Tirabade"
Tanrov? the woman looks at you as if going through a mental list
Inquisitor of Pharasma? It is good to meet you. I am with the Eagle Watch.
The Eagle Watch are a knightly order focused on keeping the peace, and doing some counter intelligence. They are genuinely good, and do not employ the heavy handed tactics of the inquisition
Marcus DePawlo
Heal to know how to set a broken leg?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
"I have some training.... I'm pretty sure none of us the magical power to heal a break. But I think we can find materials to splint the leg, and perhaps a crutch for walking."
Marcus DePawlo
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Once Anevia is in a place where a splint could be applied to her leg Marcus digs through the equipment that had been found. The sacks cut into strips, the torches, and his hanbo could hold the leg straight once the bone was set.
"Hold still. This will hurt, a lot. Maybe bite down on this leather...."
heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
After he uses a cure light wounds to heal a little of the flesh damage...
CLW from wand: 1d1 ⇒ 1
"There was an earth breaker. Maybe it could be used as a heavy cane or crutch?"
Thinking for a moment he considers. "Hey. Did anyone figure out the powers of the scales? Any chance they did any healing?"
Byron Hasperson
Marcus seemed to roll a d1 instead of a d8. That might have been a mistake?
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt
Tanrov does not have a knowedge skill and he is not from here, so he would know nothing anyway.
"I am not familiar with the Eagle Watch but I can infer from the name they are watchers of a sort. Well watch us and gauge our intentions, because we may need you to do your best to help us get you out of here."
Tanrov goes and retrieves the Earthbreaker and makes sure tograb a scale of cloudwalking
"Here Anevia can you use this earthbreaker to assist in walking?"
Marcus DePawlo
LOL! Yes. Not sure how I did that as it should have need 1d8+1. Thanks. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 And then I get a 1 + 1!
Byron Hasperson
"I am sure there is some timber around here that might work." Byron will search around for something that would act as a splint.
I will take 10 and just get an 18 to look around for some rebar or a thick stick we could use.
"Ragnar Stridson"
Alright, lets get our wounded to walking wounded and get a move on, I dont think we can stay here long term, and while I can create drinkable water, we best get stuff done before hunger kicks in.

Tanrov won't check the spider but he won't ignore it in case greeblies..
Ettiken Kozo
Ettiken follows Tanrov, eyes darting every so often to the limping Anevia. She takes the broken cane, murmuring that she'll be able to fix it later.
I'm presuming somebody also grabbed the rope and tanglefoot bag.

Ragnar looks at the elf, before saying
Tactically speaking, having someone act as your eyes is absolutely sound.
The issue is that I am literally a Bloodrager, my optimal position during combat is not... where you want to be as a recently blinded person.
Although I can do ranged, thankfully I got a pretty nice bow...
Alright, put your hand here Ragnar places the elfs hand at a hook on his breastplate
If you stumble flex your arms musculature, it will stabilize you. The difference in weight between us is significantly in my favor, which is good
If I say Ciel cramoisi, meaning crimson sky in celestial, it means that I judge combat to have evolved into a situation where I need to enter melee. Let go of my should in that case.
Ragnar, with gear, is a massive item of a man easily north of 230 lbs, Ragnars looks more or less
Byron Hasperson
Byron shuffles along near the front of the group looking for any signs that these tunnels may have been used as smuggler tunnels.

Toward A2 on the map?
Byron Hasperson
A2 sounds good to me!
Tanrov Shadow-Graxt
Tanrov moves towards A2 staying as far away from the bug as possible.

A2 Abandoned Campsite
This smaller cavern appears to have once served as a campsite or temporary lair. A torn bedroll lies next to the cold remains of a fire. A pile of bones, broken equipment, and rubble lies just past the campsite.
You see a giant cockroach has made a home in the trash heap. The dog-sized vermin hide and wait.
Treasure: The junk in this room may prove extremely
valuable to the PCs. A thorough search of the room turns up a
torn bedroll, three candle stubs (each can burn for 30 minutes),
a bent fishhook, 10 feet of badly frayed hemp rope, and a
copper brooch depicting a bat perched on a mushroom—
both of the bat’s eyes are tiny amethysts. This brooch is worth
200 gp,

Seeing his bolt completely miss he points, "I missed. It's there, hiding!"
I forgot my crossbow was destroyed.
