The ganzi briefly considers her options, and the sight of one of her teammates suddenly getting sent to a watery grave certainly tips the scales.
Considering that her body has taken a beating from her own abilities, she doesn't like her odds with the monster. She backtracks at full speed, swimming through the muddy and bloody water to relative safety while hoping her allies follow suit.
As for the parting shot....

One don't just move out of mud monster's reach with ease. Luckily, the murky water obscures the accuracy from both side, and Araezi got away unharmed.
Alya are not sure about this monster's habit. She don't know whether the monster is going to give chase or stay and eat Methyl.

Sorry, I probably fail the perception check and mistaken the 16 as attack roll
Patros lands a solid blow on the mud monster, but his mundane sword is not very effective.
Every little hit adds up, and the monster is rather wounded. The mud monster retaliates and knocks Patros unconscious.

She talked up the steps spitting out water from her lungs. She was angry not just at herself but at the stupidity of the adventures group she had been sent to observe and assist.
"What a *&%$*&% mess@!"
She exclaimed to no one in anger.
One dead possibly two, and why?, becouse they had been over confident and rash. Charging a ahead, Trying to bright force they way past danger. Fighting blindly without any form of small unit tactics or basic dispin. They had from the start be noting but relative to every situation. She was a professional soldier, one used to war, death and all that came with massed armies fighting each other. She was angry at herself for not pulling them up at the start and making them work out a battle plan. She was angry at herself trusting them to know what hell they were doing. Well with one or more dead it was clear to her as day they did not.
She placed her spear on the wall and took off her backpack. Talking out her note book she wrote down some such to she could right it up later. Most of all about the danger level of this location and a recommendation for a larger better trained group be sent. Or this group would have ot get new hands in, but with out better leadership she could not see a better outcome. Not after two rooms.
She was done with them, as a professional soldier she knew they did not have what it took to help here, and she needed to report back and made ready to leave.
Ok All, sorry but I feel I should leave the game everyone, I really don't think my PC is equipped to help complete this, She is an investigator/Mistry type and this is a start up dugan crawl. I am in the wrong for not getting that form the get go. As for the above, I am just playing my PC as I feel she would Act in this situation in regards to what has happened, as a justification for leaving. Please do not take it as any kind of comment as you as players. Bad luck and timing had more than anything to do with this

Adrenaline and Ganzi blood are a hell of a mix. With the state of things, Araezi doesn't even notice one of her allies leaving the group to die. Instead, she grows impatient as she waits for a complete headcount of allies to pass her by. She swims forward, peeking over the head of Ganem to see Patros floating motionless.
She gives the man a touch of invigorating energy, once again sapping her own life force.

She had waited, she was not the kind to run off an leave others but they had to do a tarcal retrait. She came over and helps them out the water.
"Your right, I could do nothing to stop that thing, Are the other coming? I saw Matt fall, but Shi and Ganem?"
She asks with some concern, seeing none of the others she dove back in water heading to them.
Is it half speed or full speed I forgot"
| GM_Colin |
Make a Swim check once per round while you are in the water. Success means you may swim at up to half your speed (as a full-round action) or at a quarter of your speed (as a move action). If you fail by 4 or less, you make no progress. If you fail by 5 or more, you go underwater.
Shi guards the entrance while Alya goes back to check on teammates.

Ahh...sorry, I mistook the red outlined avatar as the monster. Yeah, I think I would withdraw since I can't 5 foot step. I think that would negate my move action to take the potion sponge out of my haversack too.

The ganzi had her chance, but it seems that it wasn't in her nature to turn tail with a friend in danger.
The mud monster slams down hard, his attack impacting an invisible barrier around Araezi's body. In that moment, it shimmers and cracks, shattering like so much glass before it can absorb much of the momentum. The blow connects right on her shocked face and causes her to rotate a whole half circle before the momentum halts.
The ganzi's body, already pushed close to its limit, gave way underneath the attack. The monster would find itself grasping a limp, unresponsive prey.
Well, looks like all that Burn caught up with her. Thanks to the nonlethal damage, Araezi is unconscious. If it matters, her force ward regenerates 1 temporary HP per minute, so she'll be back to an effective 0 HP in 2 minutes.

It looked like Matt and Patros and Araezi where down, the mud demon smothering her, all three dead or soon to be. Ganem was coming her way and fast. He was making a brake to get away from the thing. So three would survive and three where lost, that was the reality of this situation. Alya was not brave she know that, she was deeply pragmatic. She was no hero to run head 1st at an enemy with no plan other than to gain glory. She know that senseless bravery on the battlefield did not win wars. She had seen too many dead. No what won wars was bringing Superior, force, planning and discipline to a fight did. And they had had none of these here. She was a realist, running was the only option now. She had no means to harm the thing, and it had no eyes so Vanish would not work, and with out a means to magically harm or charm it all they could do was a statical retreat. When they could regroup and come back with more force, planning and better dispalin.
"Ganem hurry"
She moved 10' move 5' reach, if he or she still has an action she pull him 5' away from it held out her hand for him to grab so she could pull him away from the thing. So they could get away faster

As Ganem and Alya escape from the flooded hallway, you find Shi waiting for you in the dry landing. You glance back, expecting the mud monster to emerge from the dark water, but it doesn't give chase. The sound of water fades behind you. As you pause to catch your breath, the adrenaline fades, replaced by a heavy, creeping exhaustion that washes over your mind like the dark water......

You open your eyes, and you're staring at the ceiling above your bunk bed, drenched in sweat. Your heart still races as you sit up, the images of drowning corridors and terrifying monster already slipping away like mist. You give your arm a small pinch, and let out a weary sigh.
It wasn't real. Just a terrible dream.
......You really need to remember to turn off the humidifier next time.
