"The security logs look like it will take some time to go through, might be best to just download it for evidence on our way out, let me see if I can see into the other rooms with the security cameras."
Computers: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

I'm fine with letting our two battered ysoki take a 10-minute rest, if the carusidae will stay away long enough to allow it. If reviewing the logs requires a Computers check, then it will have to be someone other than Mazer (who is untrained). She can keep watch.

![]() |

"Yah yah, I wouldn't mind a bit of a kip!"
I'll wait to see if we're interrupted by the monster during the rest before actually restoring any SP/spending RP.

![]() |

Nippostia nods to Salamazarin and checks her laser pistol.
“I’ll join you on watch.”
And Nippostia returns… thanks for your patience. The last two weeks were (cough) unbelievably full. I missed you all SO MUCH!!!!!!

![]() |

You are not interrupted during your rest.

![]() |

Nixxer jerks awake from his nap. "Now where wuz we? Oh yeah, heya Sal, any luck with them there logs?"

![]() |

It would take a few hours to go over the security footage. Are you wanting to spend the time or press on into the next room?

![]() |

"I agree with Sovellis," Salamazarin replies. "We came here to find sometime. Time may not be on our side." The sarcesian gives her weapons a quick check, then assumes a defensive posture where she stands near the southern door.

![]() |

The door is easily opened and the next room contains a specimen cell identical to the one two rooms back. A male kasatha cowers in the corner.

![]() |

"Heya, fella! What's your name? I'm Nixxer. Ya got anything innerestin' around here?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9

![]() |

Rahosa. Have you seen Nindir?

![]() |

"No, I'm sorry, we haven't. But we came here looking for her. And you," Salamazarin replies, stepping into the room. "I'm Mazer. We know the two of you met at her secret place. What happened after that?" The sarcesian is careful to keep her tone gentle and friendly, and without judgment about the young couple's hidden affair.

![]() |

Nip looks to the ysokis and points back to Rahosa.
“Can you two do something about the cell door so we can get him out?”

![]() |

Rahosa tells you that after the leporine pack attacked them at their hangout spot, Nindir and Rahosa fled down the tunnel and made their way into the facility. Once they realized where they were, it was too late, since they couldn’t figure out how to get past the turret guarding the entrance. The 'mad scientist' later returned to the facility and discovered their presence, sending his carusidae to hunt for them. Rahosa managed to fight it off but was stung in the process. Nindir helped him hide in this cell before leaving to find help.
I dunno if she's safe or not, and we couldn't call for help cause my comm unit battery is flat and Nindir doesn't have one. But you can open this cell from the control room back that way.
He looks rather weak as he points to the door you just came through.

![]() |

Sovellis says to no one in particular. "Go open the door. I'll stay here. "
The elf turns to Rahosa. "What else can you tell us about this scientist?"

![]() |

Ah ... I think his name is Hynes - but I have no idea what he's up to, except I'm sure he's as nutty as a fruitcake.

![]() |

Pockets opens the door for Rahosa, then gets out his trusty datapad and a new checklist for hostage rescue.
"I gotta few really quick questions to ask fast, won't take long at all, Ok let's get started, first,
are you injured?
Are you hydrated? We have food and water if needed.
Are there any other dangers in the area we should know about?
In case of an emergency who should we contact for you?

![]() |

"Are any of you trained medics?" Mazer asks her companions. "I'm not, but that carusidae seems to have done a number on our new friend."
The sarcesian glares at the cell for a moment--but very much not at Rahosa. As she takes up a watch position by the next door, she softly and deiiberately starts cursing Hynes and whoever they are working with, or for, in Azlanti. Even those who don't understand the foreign tongue can easily guess from her tone that she is using some coarse, colorful language.
I took the liberty of moving most of our tokens into the room with the cell, since nearly everyone is talking with Rahosa now.

![]() |

Yes. It stung me. I could use water sure. That creature is still out there. I'm feeling pretty weak.

![]() |

”Are any of you trained medics?”
“Nope, I can't do anything about the poison yet.”
Does he have obvious injuries that a healing serum would help?

![]() |

FWIW... Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 To keep watch.

![]() |

The containers are full of basic supplies, including two mk 1 antidotes, six weeks of R2E rations in an assortment of flavors, a basic medkit, and two mk 1 serums of healing. Furthermore, a shiny bauble on the floor turns out to be a clear spindle aeon stone.
One of the perils of PBP--if you don't write it down, you'll forget you had it by the time you need it. I just found the note I made about this loot. I don't believe any of it got claimed by anyone, other than the food by the two ysoki, so I'll say Salamazarin is carrying the rest. (Her load was a mere 2 Bulk before that.)
Salamazarin's baton does not much impede the finger snap she makes when Pocket announces his plan. "The supplies we took from the other room! There were a couple of antidotes in there!" She puts away the baton, and pulls an antidote and a healing serum from one of her pockets. She hands them to Nippostia to administer so that she can resume her watch. "And he could probably use one of those ration packets, too."

![]() |

It's more likely that anything not nailed down was swiped by Nixxer, but it all works out the same in the end :)

![]() |

You apply the antidote and give Rashosa water and food and he soon feels better. Still a bit weak though but that could be temporary now.
What's your next move? Onwards?

![]() |

“Let’s keep moving. We can put Rahosa near the center of our group to protect him... at least a little.”
Nip keeps her laser pistol drawn in case the shark-thing shows up again.

I remembered Nixxer stuffing his cheeks, but not what he put in them.
Sovellis nods at both Nippostia's suggestions, moving on and Rahosa in the middle. As the party shuffles south, now with Rahosa in the center, the elf carries his sword naked in his hand.
Added a light blue dot for Rahosa. Shuffled us all south to the next door with Mazar in the lead, preserving our order more or less from previous position.

![]() |

No traps. You end up in an empty, unremarkable room.

![]() |

Salamazarin enters the room cautiously, looking around as she heads for the far door.

"That's a large portal. Salamazarin, you and I should enter first to control any opponent's ability to close to melee with the other party members. The rest of you stay close to us. No doubt our phasing friend will show up if there is a fight."
As ever feel free to disregard Sovellis' suggestions. Oh and can't manipulate the slide from my phone. Could someone shuffle us all into the room Mazar's in with Sovellis near the big door please?

![]() |

Done. Feel free to shift around if you see fit, erevyone.
BTW, you forgot to choose Sovellis for Post As, so thanks for naming your PC in the notes. ;)

![]() |

Nippostia holds her pistol ready and silently sends a request into the cosmos.
Please, Nindir, be safe. Stay strong. Know we are coming to help and that Rahosa is with us.
She nods and sets her jaw.
“Let’s finish this and find Nindir.”

![]() |

You get the door open. A sheltered observation deck rises 15 feet off the floor at the center of the room. A specimen cell identical to the ones in areas B3 and B5 stands open to the south.

“There! In the far corner!”
Nip reaches out with her mind, but can’t make a connection. Just out of reach… for now.
She raises her laser pistol and fires.

Trick attack damage gets rolled twice on crits, too: 1d4 ⇒ 1

![]() |

First time ever having a trick attack hit, let alone getting a crit with it! Do I roll twice for the trick damage and base damage then roll once for the burn damage? Or is the burn damage the crit damage for the base attack? Also I forgot the target gets the burning condition but it might get a save for that?
