Iron Gods: Iron maps;

And welcome to the Worldwound, where the epic battle against the Abyss is done! I hope we all enjoy here a nice time of RP and strategy.

Please add here some basic information needed for me to report at the end of the scenario (you can copy paste this template).
Player name:
Character PFS #ID:
Day job roll:
Advancement: Normal / Slow ?
Brief character description:
I assume your faction is properly set in your character alias (the icon next to your name), so please double check it.

Please, do not hesitate to let me know if there is any other extra information you would like me to add in your chronicle.

About Tier
This game is probably going to end out of tier for some of you. Please, try to sort out what character will you be finally playing through the week. If you end playing low in a high tier, please, take care and play it safe. If you end playing high in a low tier, please, be considerate and try to hold of your best tricks so others can enjoy too.

This will be a Standard Society game, as I do not think there is enough interest for Core.

Some notes to set some expectations on PbP gaming:

In order to keep the pace during combat, I might skip one player if he is the only one still to act, and give him the right to use his action in the next turn. I have found this is usually the best balance between maintaining the game pace and keeping the players opportunity to participate even if they cannot post very often.

Also, in order to improve everybody's experience, every time you have a doubt, in addition to ask about it (please do so!), add contingency actions so I can resolve the events without having to go back and forth into a two people discussion.

And one rule when you post, if you are unsure if something works in a certain way, try it out, if not, I will just ignore the action or tell you what other thing to do. It just saves a lot of time in PbP. Even more if you add contingency actions in spoilers.

For example:

If no one says against this direction, I check the left door for traps.
[dice=Perception]1d20 + 6[/dice] -> Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
I open the door and go into the room if there is no immediate danger.

I call the party rogue to open the door. If we don't have rogue, I try to force it open with my axe Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13.
GM answer:

Great contingencies post! Thanks for helping the action to keep moving!

The door seems to have no traps at all. When you try to open it, you discover it is locked. You call the rogue and he take 20 for total 26 unlocks it.

Your torch light goes inside the room, and you see a big birthday cake. All of a sudden your Pathfinder friends come out around and greet you all "Happy birthday!"

That saves us from expending 3 days checking questions and answers back and forth to decide where to go and what happens with it.

Once I can confirm we are all enrolled, I will set up the Gameplay thread so we can start.

And first rule that triumphs them all: have fun! :D

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Hi! Thank you all for accepting the invite :)

So we have:

Lady Alya De Qill, Elf Investigator (Psychic Detective) 3
Tanbu Yull, Halfling Rogue 4
Cyclic, Gnome Oracle(Nature) 4
Andrelis Lethian, Rogue (Scout) 4
Greet, Leshy Shaman 7
Makras Vekker, Dwarf Oracle 6

APL = (3 + 4 * 3 + 7 + 6) / 6 = 28 / 6 = 4.67

That means we are to play Tier 3-4 with 6 players adjustment.

The Gameplay thread is up!

Hi GM I see what you are saying sorry that post was so blunt, was on the move. To Save time I will go with what everyone does and Roll [when I need to] or you roll [when GM needs to] skills etc. :)

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

No issue, it is fine, just wanted to be clear :)

By the way, I intended to put that on Discussion, not in Gameplay, sorry for that!

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

I am liking how you are interacting to try meet each other. Good RP so far :)

I will give Makras and Cyclic one more day chance to react before the group leaves Nerosyan.

Meanwhile, if you would add your Perception and Initiative bonuses to this slide, it would be of help, thanks.

Sorry about the late arrival. I did not see this campaign starting because gameplay was not up and I could not dot in. Though I did post in discussion and that should have put the campaign on my main page and it didn't so I am a bit confused why it did not show. Happened to notice when I wondered why it had not started, went to my posts, tracked down this thread, and then found out I was being missed! Ugh.

Anyway, to be continued as soon as work allows...

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

What works the best for me is to monitor the https://paizo.com/campaigns page with the "FOCUS" option so only threads I have visited are shown.

The view is more compact and you are not exposed to the weak functionality of the campaigns track system.

Please, join in Gameplay when possible :)

Hi Lady Alya! All creatures do 5' steps only. Fortunately, the mount uses its own movement for moving :)

Hence it can take a move action to move its speed without problem (note you still take a -4 penalty to ranged shots if the mount double moves). As you only need a DC 5 to fight with both hands and you have a +4 Ride, you do not need to roll ride checks every round for that.

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

@Lady Alya I do not think you have your spear anywhere around as you had to drop it (free action) in order to draw (move action) and shot the crossbow (standard action) in the first round.

You can still draw another weapon, like your cold iron rapier, so I am assuming you are doing that instead :)

Also, handling the dog to attack is another move action (and requires a Handle Animal DC 10 and the dog to know the attack trick), so I fear you are getting short of one action here even if we assume you are dropping the crossbow to rotate to a new weapon.

If you have any special class feature or feat that allows any of this, please point it out as I have not been able to find it in your profile.

Mange got a 21 on his save and is unaffected. Did you mean Mange tries to calm down Cyclic? Or that Greet tries to calm down all the animals? Does the Protection from Evil help Cyclic out?

I was hoping the party members who made the knowledge check and know what is going on in here would have shared the info with the others so people is not this lost.

Besides, about the calm animals, Mange is the only intelligent animal here, so the casting can only affect him, hence the reference to Mange.

About protection from evil, Cyclic decided to use this spell before knowing what is going on (I guess influenced by meta information I gave in OOC that this was a mind-affecting effect, which I only was giving in good will to help you in case your character had bonuses against that), so in the follow up post I was intently trying to be cryptic here to not further influence your actions on base to what your character knows. But on an attentive read, you might notice only Andrelis has been called to further saves, so you should see an answer to your worries in there :)

Yea, the whispering voices were a major clue (combined with their being in the Worldwound which has a reputation) that her mind was being messed with. The OOC comments would have made no difference. On the other hand, if the nature of the effect as to also be convinced it was real, then she would not have cast the spell. Insanity is an odd thing and you can have a mental issue and be fully convinced that it is everyone else that has a problem. If that was the nature of the effect then you should retcon her casting. But, dang it, if in real life I started hearing voices like that, and provided I had any sense and was not clinically paranoid, I would start wondering if I was drugged (which translates to bespelled in this case) and try to do something about it. So that is what I had her do.

So in short, if the effect calls for it please retcon her casting.

I'll hold off on Cyclic's response and react based on your judgment.

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

I would suggest Greet to rereed the knowledge planes spoiler for the check he was successful at and share the info with the party so things do not get worse.

Apologies in advance for the inconvenience, but I've off camping for the week. Please bot me as needed. I'm enjoying the game, and really curious to see how this one shakes out!

Wow, I expected Spiritual Weapon to deal some damage. There is no 1 target in description. And my creator originally used shotgun with splash so. Anyway, I probably should remain in Tree Form. Feeling useless and do not understand why we fighting.
I MA sure Burning Sands and Thorny Entanglement or Sleet Storm unlikely to be affective also, despite being area effects.

As wasps are exposed to holy water maybe Spirit Rebuke would work, but Greet'd never try to Rebuke Spirit of wasps...

Anyway I am in a terrible mood last week due to life troubles. Sorry for sporadic posts. Bot me if necessary

Thank you GM that was most kind, I did miss read it, but using two action that works for me. :)

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

As I see it, the spiritual weapon is no more useful than shooting a bow into the swarm Greet, aside of the damage type different. Also, the spell still requires specifying a target, there are references in the description like "Each round after the first, you can use a move action to redirect the weapon to a new target."

Because someone identified the wasps already, I can tell you the burning hands are actually a great option, as aside from their special vulnerability to holy water, they have nothing special compared to a wasp swarm, and certainly no resistance to fire.

And I am sorry your week was troubled :(
I hope things get better in that front and that following encounters in this game are less frustrating for you. I hate swarms fights, and being the optional encounter I debated myself whether to run this one or not, but finally decided to give you the extra combat as the scenario does not have so many and we are no time constrained.
