Huh. Okie dokey! Mrs. Crinkle had just been making conversation as they passed through to the divination room, but apparently the group decided to stop and push some buttons. Pushing buttons is sometimes fun and often dangerous, so of course she wants to do so as well. She picks one at random and studies it for a bit before giving it a little twiddle. "Let's see what this does. Heehee!"

Desmond watches Mas get himself shocked and sighs. He drops his pack and begins rummaging inside. "Now if you're just going to willy nilly poke at things, you're going to get yourself hurt. Luckily, I have a salve that can help, but it takes some time to mix up. So if you're going to keep poking, do it now while I prep this."

Mostly just flavor, but Desmond will wait to Treat Wounds until more people have triggered traps and/or are hurt more.

The Pathfinders proceed to the north, hopefully with more noble goals than Mrs. Crinkle for the most part.

This room is completely bereft of windows and lit only by dim magical orbs mounted on each wall. Two perfectly smooth crystal balls lie in the center of two large tables, near the center of the room. The other furniture in the room has been tossed, the shelves have been ransacked and a pair of mirrors on the far eastern side lie shattered on the floor, revealing an empty indentation in the eastern wall.

Trained in Arcana, Occultism, Nature or Religion:
You can interface with either of the crystal balls using a 3 action activity. Using either causes that ball to display a remote location along with a label of what room or area is being viewed. You can easily choose to view other areas available to that crystal ball, cycling through the options in a set order. The western crystal displays the rooms of the manor in a fixed order. The eastern crystal ball displays important cities and landmarks around Golarion, including the Starstone Cathedral, Lepistadt University, and the Husk Beetle at Sothis, among several others. The western orb has been left active displaying the front entrance.

Desmond goes to inspect the ransacked shelves and the mirrors. "I wonder if this was a trap or if someone was here searching for something." He looks at the empty indentation to see what could have fit.

"Ooo! I wanna see!" Mrs. Crinkle bustles straight to the western crystal ball and begins narrating everything she sees. "Well, there's the front entrance. Looks like whoever was here last wasn't confident in their sneakiness, watching their backs like that. Wonder if they're still here... Now, how do we switch to another room? Let's see..."

"Looks like these crystal balls are remote viewing devices of some kind. That one," he pointed at the ball that Mrs. Crinkle was looking through, "looks at various places in the manor here. The other one looks at various cities across the world. This is truly fascinating. I mean, the whole of this room is dedicated to scrying magic, which come from what people traditionally call the 'divination' school. The previous room was all 'abjuration' wards. Now I really want to apprentice under Alyreha. She could teach me so much more than..."

Bertram broke off and looked around sheepishly, as if embarrassed to be caught saying whatever he had been about to.

"Anyways, that's what the crystals do> Why don't you look around the house and see if you can find whoever beat us here? I want to look and see if I can figure out why one was taken."

Bertram moved to the empty indentation and examined the area for signs of magical residue or something that might tell what had been here.

Mas who's now allergic to the electric shocks, stays clear of the shelves. He instead takes a look at the remote viewing devices.

The front entrance is how you remember it - no one is there now, and nothing seems to have changed since you entered.

You can see two other areas beyond what you have already visited on the first floor - one labeled "conjuration gallery" with number of paintings, many left haphazardly on the floor; and another outdoors area called "illusion garden" which contains several statues.

Nothing on the second floor is visible, nor is the tower. The name of each room appears - "necromancy study", "home office", "reading room", "teaching hall", "enchantment auditorium", "evocation atrium", "transmutation storeroom" and "scrolls storage room" - but the view of the room itself is missing.

Mrs. Crinkle will need to find another way to observe the lavatories.

There are a lot of interesting things to see in the second orb, but all are beyond the scope of this adventure.

"Let's see here. The front entrance is the way we left it... The conjuration gallery is well and thoroughly trashed, and the illusion garden has statues--or does it? And the--well, poo! Gosh darn! Alreyha, why isn't this working? The rest of the rooms don't show me anything." Mrs. Crinkle holds up Alyreha's skull to the orb so she can see for herself.

For curiosity's sake, what kind of statues are in the garden? Anything that would make someone with juvenile humor chuckle?

The statues in the garden are all of an adult Garundi woman at varying ages. How amusing Mrs. Crinkle finds them depends a lot on what happens when she sees floating cloth (made of stone).

After recovering from her shock at being removed from her statue and dragged into the divination lounge without so much as a by-your-leave, Alyreha looks into the orb. I remember having a scrying sensor for each room, but can’t say for sure if someone sabotaged them or if the damage to the house’s overall magical protections could have taken them out," she remarks.

Mrs. Crinkle is able to locate a chamber pot near the stairs. As she leaves, there is a suspicious lump in her pack. The Pathfinders head to the southwest.

The walls of this room are covered in paintings of creatures, organized beneath signs that list the names of each of the Outer Planes. Many of the paintings have been moved aside, turned crooked, or taken off the shelf, as if the room had been thrown into disarray. On the southern end of the room, a painting in the section labeled “Maelstrom” lies on the floor, with one side of the frame slightly broken off.

Three strange creatures crawl out of the frame.

Bertram broke off as they entered the painting room and the creatures attacked. As they did, his spellbook flapped back out the doorway like the vicious attacker it wasn't.

Razzm eyes the two creatures advancing upon him. He hits one of them with his shield and then, just when the other one thinks that he has managed to bite the fighter, he quickly pulls his shield up for some helpful protection.

"Ahh, there's a good book. Heehee!" Mrs. Crinkle giggles as the spellbook gobbles her note, then glances over her shoulder.

"Eh? What's that? Oh! Coming dearies!" Her voice changes pitch partway through her sentence, becoming deep, harsh, and guttural as her body begins to swell. Silvery gray fur sprouts all over her body. Her face elongates into a lupine snout filled with jagged teeth. And her comically enormous red sweater dress...doesn't change size at all. The slip knots come loose as her body grows, and the knit fabric stretches, creaking and groaning with the stress of containing this massively muscular wolf-woman, resulting in a super skimpy mini dress with a skirt so short it's a good thing she now has thick fur to cover her underside. Wolfy Mrs. Crinkle galumphs straight up to blue and snaps her jaws at it. "Snack time!"

She's still a medium sized creature, but just barely.

GM, by my reading Reactive Shield would give Razzm the Shield bonus to his AC until the start of his next turn (so it would still protect him from the latest Jaws attack.

Desmond sees Mrs. Crinkle's such big eyes and ears get chewed on by one of the creatures. "Whoa, Granny! Hang on, I'm on my way!" He rushes around the formation until he's on the other side.

He tries to swat away the creature from the old woman. "Get away from her. I gotta do my job!" Finally, he tries to bind her wounds, using the non-adhesive bandages that won't stick to her fur.

Desmond takes a couple of swipes, but is more concerned with patching up Mrs. Crinkle.
