Kevan prepares to stab the first ghoul that gets near him in the kidney.

Forgot to put Tymos in the order.

Eochaidh

Ghouls
Tymos
Alden (Current Initiative)
The ghouls step forward, looking at the light emanating from the hallway and approaching cautiously. Except waiting around the corner, closer than the light, was a halfling with a rapier. Kevan's thrust catches the first ghoul off guard, but also fails to connect. The tip of the blade plunging through the shredded trousers of the first ghoul. Passing through under the crotch and out the tail end before he withdraws his weapon.
"Food!" the thing growls hungrily. Further down the main hall the sound of several ghouls screeching in alarm echoes. With the element of surprise gone Tymos roars in protest and charges down the hall at the ghouls as well.
Charge: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 = 151d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
His blade stabs into the side of the nearest ghoul's torso. The beast cringes in pain but then snarls at Tymos.
Map updated.

Alden Cooperson |

Alden glances back towards the combat, noting that his companions currently have the ghouls hemmed-in to the room and outnumbered. Remembering his duty as rearguard, he holds his ground at the intersection, anticipating the arrival of more ghouls.
Full Defense, +4 to AC. Current AC 23.

Kevan Nimblefingers |

Kevan tumbles around to the right to avoid the angry ghouls and attempts to get behind them. "Do you fellas remember when you were alive and you'd get somethin' nasty on your boot and they wouldn't let you come in. Yeah, you smell like that." The halfling says as he moves.
20' tumble move around the outside of the ghouls to flank diagonally with Tymos.

rapier dmg, sneak: 1d6 - 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (4) - 1 + (2, 1) = 6

Eochaidh Roidal |

With no opening to the front available, and knowing there are ghouls behind them, Eochaidh waits to see if the other ghouls advance.
Delay since no opening up front.

You can move through a threatened square without provoking an attack of opportunity from an enemy by using Acrobatics. When moving in this way, you move at half speed. You can move at full speed by increasing the DC of the check by 10.
Move through a threatened area Opponent’s Combat Maneuver Defense
Move through an enemy’s space 5 + Opponent’s Combat Maneuver Defense

[ooc]Forgot to roll it, going around to avoid the +5. Just double move to setup flank for others.[/dice]

Kevan Nimblefingers |

This server wants to kill me. I can't roll over a 6.

'Rabbit' |

I can't seem to move my token right now. If someone would move me up directly south of Alden that'd be good.
Rabbit hurries after the others to keep close. The eerie giggling continues.
Move action to move, move action to Cackle and maintain the Fortune hex on Jaxom and Eochaidh

It's not a Google Slides map; it's more a picture.

Map has been updated to a slide, so you should be able to move your tokens now. I have moved you as requested in the meantime.
As Kevin tries to dive into a tumble between the ghoul he faced and Tymos he misjudged the creatures response. Reeling back he managed to avoid falling underneath it's incoming swipe, but he still left the thing with an opening to attack him.
AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Thankfully the thing was not good at adjusting to his height, and with a dip of his hips Kevan was able to duck the feral attack. Kevan makes a stab at it in return, but just misses again as his rapier tip snags the ghouls clothing again.
Miss without the flank. Jaxom is up! Alright lads, I am ready to roll.

Jaxom Buhr |

Jaxom moves through Kevan and slashes the ghoul with his Axe-Gauntlet,
To hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
No point in rolling damage if we can't hit....
and misses terribly!

Kevan Nimblefingers |

Since I wasn't going through his square don't I get my move just he gets to swipe at me? Understand if I try to go through them they stop me but I believe it is my movement that draws the attack. I like the slide.

GuardYourPrivates |

Looking at the skill it is indeed only halted if attempting to move through the creatures square and not just a threatened square. Kevan can move 15'. I will also say you could hold your attack until Jaxom moves up, getting the flank, and landing your sneak attack. Which is just enough damage to eliminate the ghoul.
I have adjusted your positions on the map, and everyone should be able to move their tokens going forward. I will update when I get home in the morning.

Kevan Nimblefingers |

Outstanding, thank you.

GuardYourPrivates |

Alright, here we go. Let's walk it back.
Kevan nimbly slips between the ghoul and Tymos, thinking he could get past the ghoul's guard. It swiped at him, but given his short stature he was able to duck under it's claws. Coming back up to his full height he skidded to a stop, waiting for Jaxom to move into position. Then, when the brawler moved in and tried to strike he drove his rapier into the small of the creatures back.
The ghoul wailed, and Kevan could feel the blade bending up against it's spine. He pushed ahead regardless, the blade's tip nicking and tearing along until the thing went limp and fell.
Stuff: 1d4 ⇒ 3
The other ghoul shows no fear at the loss of his comrade, but neither does it move forward. Glaring at Kevan it swipes out with claw and an open, hungry maw.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 161d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Kevan reels back from the bite, swipes his rapier to desperately keep one claw at bay, but the other one catches his shoulder. He feels a chill run through his body, and then cannot feel his shoulder at all. Or move.
Kevan is paralyzed for...
Paralysis: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Four rounds!
Seeing this Tymos bellows an inarticulate protest and bulls into the ghoul trying to push it away from Kevan, drawing a swipe himself.
AoO: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Bull Rush: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
He leads with his shield, deflecting the attack and slamming into the ghoul, but is unable to push him back.
Back to Alden and then the top of the round.

Alden Cooperson |

Hearing both Tymos' cry, and the sound of a body hit the ground, Alden opts to move in the direction of the battle.
Double move to stand beside the fallen Kevan.

Eochaidh Roidal |

Eochaidh whispers to Rabbit, "Go to Alden; I'll join you."
@GM: Eochaidh will move with Rabbit and stay behind him on the map in case the ghouls behind us come at the party too.

Kevan Nimblefingers |

'This is because he didn't like what I had to say. But, he does stink. It's not my fault. Some people just don't know how to take constructive criticism.' Kevan thinks as he struggles to regain control of his limbs.

'Rabbit' |

"Oh no-- Kevan!" Rabbit gasps, watching the other halfling freeze up. He hurries forward, though the breathless giggling that seems to have overcome him means he doesn't get too far.
Move to move on map, move to sustain Cackle, Jaxom and Eochaidh continue to have Fortune for 2 rounds

He's using the MW scimitar.

Jaxom Buhr |

Not having a direct attack on the remaining ghoul Jaxom tries anyway.
Two attacks from Brawler's Flurry
Attack #1: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 8 - 2 = 15
damage if that hits?: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Cover? Low to miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 90 ? Percent based on cover?
Attack #2: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 2 = 12
damage if that hits?: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Cover? Low to miss?: 1d100 ⇒ 100 ? Percent based on cover?
Fortune re-roll for Attack #2: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 2 = 12 LOL!

GuardYourPrivates |

Melee cover can be a bit hard to understand as written, but the PHB pg 194 has a pretty good diagram showing how it works. That said, it seems to mostly occur when diagonal. It is also a bonus to AC rather than a percentile. Thankfully for you it's on my end to figure out if you hit or not and you can roll as normal.
Eochaidh can't get into melee with the ghoul in one movement range, but he can move to where Kevin is (Small creatures can share a square with medium.) so I'll let you give him a bump out of the way on a double move if you're fine with that. I know it's not RAR, but you only needed part of a double move so sure. Again, if you're okay with that.
Eochaidh and Rabbit move forward, both helping in their own way as the druid moves in to Kevan's space and gives the rogue a push back as he does so.
Jaxom swings twice at the ghoul, who has the sense to hug the wall and avoid anything but a wide hook around the wall. Neither of his attacks connect. Considering the targets before him, he chooses the well armored but potentially lethal Tymos as his target.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Each attack though, is met with not just shield and armor, but by Tymos aggressively pushing and battering the ghoul back. The man seemed furious as he fought the creature, striking back in kind.
Longsword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 191d8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Tymos carves into the ghoul's ribs from the side, and he bulls into the thing to cut deeper. It wasn't clear if the thing actually needed it's rotten organs, but it wailed and physically pushed itself off Tymos' weapon in agony. Shrinking back and glancing about.
Initiative Order:

Alden Cooperson |

Power Attack with longsword: 1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 8 - 1 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 2 = 11
Alden brings his sword down in a powerful arc at the ghoul, seeking to snuff out its unnatural life with one mighty blow.

Alden Cooperson |

Alden moves back into the hallway, and prepares to hold the line against an onslaught of ghouls.
"Rabbit, you may want to move back into the room. Any magic you have that can bolster those of us on the line would be greatly appreciated."
2nd Round: Full Defense, +4 to AC (current AC 23)

Kevan Nimblefingers |

Such an exciting adventure and here I lay just watching. I definitely need to get more involved if this ever wears off. Will this wear off? Am I paralyzed forever? Surely not. I mean I'm fated to entertain the world with my stories. Surely this isn't how my exceptional life ends.

Jaxom Buhr |

Jaxom looks around and points into the room. "They're coming. Let's move over to the wall there and set up a line. Ready missiles, alchemist's fire, whatever to hurt them before they reach melee."
He grabs Kevan and drags him over to the wall and sets him down before moving in front of him. He pulls out a flask of alchemist's fire and waits.
I moved myself and Kevan. Let others move themselves?

Eochaidh Roidal |

Wouldn't it be better to block the entrance than to move into the room and giving them the ability to fan out? Eochaidh can cast Bless but it's a minute per level so we'd be banking on the ghouls arriving while it's still active.

'Rabbit' |

Rabbit nods wordlessly at Alden's instructions, hurrying to comply, but saying nothing as he keeps up the hitching giggling.
Round 1, move 20' and cackle; round 2, move 20' and cackle. Fortune remains active on Jaxom and Eochaidh, duration 2 rds

GuardYourPrivates |

A round is six seconds so your bless would last for 30 rounds of combat.

Jaxom Buhr |

2 rounds isn't enough time to gather materials, build a barrier, and ready our attacks. We have missiles and can at least hurt them before they reach us. And cast the bless before they reach us! Every little bit helps!

Eochaidh Roidal |

Eochaidh nods at Tymos, "I agree we should hold the smallest area so the fewest ghouls can attack at one time. We see what happened with Kevan."
Eochaidh puts out one of his hands to touch the earth and calls upon the power of the ley lines to enhance his spell.
@GM: Using Place Magic ability to increase caster level by 1 for Bless.
If one of the frontliners thinks this is the 'big fight' Eochaidh can cast Bull's Strength on them.

Jaxom Buhr |

Jaxom quickly drags Kevan's body closer to the group and takes a spot on the front line with his ready flask of alchemist's fire.

Alden Cooperson |

"I'm a farmer, not a soldier, so please correct me if I am seeing things wrong, but shouldn't we move forward and block the hallway? Two in the center and one on each corner, or perhaps behind the front line, striking with longspears? This should bottleneck the ghouls and allow for only two to attack us at a time, correct?" Alden asks.
(If the rest are agreeable to moving forward to make a line at the entrance of the hallway, Alden will volunteer to be one of the two standing on the line in the open. Anyone with a spear could stand directly behind the front line, and attack at the same time.

I think that's what Eochadih and Tymos are suggesting.

Jaxom Buhr |

So move everyone to where they should be when the ghouls arrive. Otherwise the GM will start the battle with us not ready. This arguing just slows things down.

Alden Cooperson |

I moved my icon and Tymos to form the front line. The rest of you can position yourselves either on the corners to strike from partial cover, or behind the line to use a spear, lob alchemist fire or cast spells, whichever works better for you.

Eochaidh does not have alchemist's fire or a longspear unless someone loans him one. He does have a sling he can use or wait to heal.

You should have the longspear Alden gave you before we went into the crypt. You were going to cast the huntsman's spear spell on it.

He does and he did. I should've been more specific: He doesn't have a longspear *besides* that one and it's literally a one-shot item now. I was hoping to save it for the 'boss ghoul' whenever it appears.

Jaxom Buhr |

I don't have a reach weapon and only have one alchemist's fire which I planned to throw as they approached. I moved myself to the front and Tymos to the side.
