"Thank you. I'm glad in the time I've been gone the Society has ahd more people like you and less like Ivoiveth and their scoundrels." Almina is able to calm herself as she relaxes. She gets back to work soon and offers, "if there is anything you need to check out here, I'm happy for the company, but otherwise you might need to report in. Unless that has changed when I was gone."
"I'll keep looking for ways out," she offers pressing forward a hopeful cheer. "Besides they have some ideas that I'm not seeing."

Let's make our report. May be we will be able to know more about the info in the datapad and they will give us clues about what happened here?
proposes Myzzrim' as they seemed to have explored all the hidden complex.

Looking at RZMR:
you really see no way for getting her out? With all the subduing of the systems here you have been doing? I really don't like the idea of leaving her in there.

“Were you the one that caused the monitor to display help near the entrance, Almina? It went away quick, but maybe we need those systems?”

The definition of insanity is trying the same effort and expecting different result, RZMR states, yet new input and insight may improve the outcome, however remote the possibility. RZMR is open to the request.
We've hit every terminal, right? Maybe we can retry the ones that we did before we heard of Almina... that's indeed the one near the entrance

I don't know! It works with nails for example...in the end the difference between madness and persistance is often the end result. Which you can only find out by trying.
Don't get me wrong: I know not much about computers. And if you say, there is nothing we can do right now - I believe you. I just want us to be sure. Can't you...I don't know...force the systems to reveal how Almina can be freed? It seems hard to imagine that you can't.
| GM Blazej |
"That might be a chance, I didn't search as thoroughly over there. I was just waking up and following your signal." Almina shows hope for that prospect.
If I were to describe the situation Almina is in, it would be a mine collapse. She can communicate to you through bits of collapsed passages, but her way to you. Opening passages might be possible, but known techniques would be ineffective. It would be the difference of creating a new mine as opposed to a rescue operation. A far more unique and complicated task.
Returning back to the entrance to the secret base, Almina spends a bit of effort and has a shriek of glee. "You were right, I think I found a back door out of the system. It is-"
Her voice cuts out of the comms as it is replaced with static.
Within moments the computers in the room spark and explode in a shower of electricity, smoke, and debris.
Everyone in the room takes damage. DC 12 Reflex save for half

The spoke takes a moment to clear out through the entrance, but the computers are completely destroyed. At the center of the room, lying on the floor, is Alima whose appearance is unaged and exactly matches the description you found in the century old records.
She is disheveled, but shows no injuries from the blast. However despite that she is unconscious and doesn't immediately wake.

"Ow!" Then Chance falls to her knees. "Almina, Almina, are you okay?"
Would you allow a Lucky Guess to examine her?

She continues to breathe, but Almina doesn't respond to Chance's call.
I will allow a Lucky Guess to examine her.

Chance picks up the unconscious gnome, carrying her gently in a firefighter's carry and says, "Almina's in a coma. She appears stable for now, but we need to get her back to one of the treatment facilities in the Lorespire. Trill, can you guide us back? I'll carry her."

“Sure! No problem.”
Trill puts his Comm unit away and leads the way out of the secret base.
“Probably want to close the secret door as we leave.” he says as he leads the way out. He doesn’t say anything about removing the tape that highlights where the panel is.
Once he is outside the secret base, he calls Royo to update him. “We are headed to the med center. We found a trapped Starfinder who is in a coma. We did find a secret base and have some more names to track down.”
| GM Blazej |
Royo starts to offer more question before he stops himself, "better to speak of this in person. Attend to them, then come and report to me once you are able."
Alright ready for your arrival the med center is quick to take Almina in as they ask you the details of her identify, where you found her, and any other information you can provide.
Presented with the facts of the matter, it is clear that this is a far from usual situation and that treatment will take time. The doctors promise to attend to care for Almina and doing all they can for her recovery.

With Almina being cared for you are left to proceeding to your debrief with Royo in the Archives.
There are an array of sweet and savory treats waiting for you when you arrive as well as a piping hot pot of tea.
"I admire your dedication," Royo remarks with a bit of melancholy in his voice. "Lulo and Morning Star updated me on your initial finds and said you had gone to follow up on an important lead. I promised you tea and treats and you absolutely deserve them. Now, tell me what else you discovered."

“We found a secret base where they did research and cybernetics. It even had traps that they had left behind!” Trill shares the images he has on his Comm unit.
“We also found out that gnomes can live in computers for a long time, but coming out can put them in a coma. Almina, the gnome who was helping investigate the group, got stuck in a computer and we helped her out. That is the person we needed to take to the medical facility.”

An elaborate plot to undermine the society, of an age well over the median lifespan of starfinders. Remnants of the plot may still linger and form a danger to society. Illicit operations include augmentations and longevity solutions. The level of cyber security this wayward group has deployed is pitiful. RZMR summarizes

Royo is focused on your report. He moves up upon the edge of his seat as the details are pronounced. "I would be impressed to to hear of any secret complex within Absalom Station, but it is a far more surprising matter to hear one has been lying under our gaze for longer than I have been here."
His gaze turns down with a somber demeanor as he adds, "add the return of Almina should be a celebration as with the return of any Starfinder. It would be disservice for me to not commend you for that. Still I wish she should be here as well."
Forcing is gaze up he returns to the debriefing and speaks to RZMR, "I may count their lax security to the covert nature of their base. There are more names to reference and it may well be that all were purged from computer directories in such a complete way. Did you recover any digital media from the base? If you have I would like to pass that on to the Dataphiles as soon as able. We have already lost much time, no sense wasting yet more."
"I will again commend you for your efforts today. Rec Room 247 will be cordoned off and I will be in communication with the First Seeker to investigate the facility further."
Norbert Smallfoot

Isolation and investigation of Rec Room 247 should be done as covertly as possible. The Organization Iroiveth worked for, and even her sister, may still be monitoring our activities, and the less they know about what we know the better. Also, I believe RZMR recovered some Hard Drives that were too heavily encrypted to recover data on site, but could be turned over to the Dataphiles for further analysis.
Almina mentioned the name "Lubose" but her memories seemed to be corrupted.

"I'll take that under advisement as I proceed Norbert," Royo answers as he furrows his brow in consideration. "My inclination is for learning and sharing knowledge and, one could argue, that the were left to run their operation freely by dispatching the covert investigation into them."
"Needless to say I will be in communication with Celita and the First Seeker on how to proceed. Thank you again for your efforts and I wish you well for your hard work."
With that Royo dismisses you all and frees you all to your own interests.
Thank you all for the adventure and I look forward to joining with you all again in the future.
