A couple of questions about the Attack on Lu Yan. I will apologize in advance for not stating it, but I think I would have used my Wand of Mage Armor right before the clock struck, expecting trouble. I'll understand if you disallow based on the fact I didn't say it. Also, what ancestry does this enemy have a favored enemy bonus against? I ask, ask while Lu Yan is Half Elf, he has a strange SU ability that means he counts as a Dragon instead of a Human for favored enemy bonuses.

The arcanist knows Vexgits have spell resistance, as well as rusting grasp and snare as SLAs. In addition, cold iron weapons are most effective against them.

Twigjacks can sneak attack, are vulnerable to fire, and have the woodland stride ability.

Gloom Dragons are immune to paralysis and sleep, have spell resistance, can cast spells as a sorcerer 5, have greater invisibility as an SLA, and have a sickening, staggering breath weapon.

Right, darnit. If I'd had the foresight to prepare blindness I could counterspell, but no. I'm also guessing the effect is not bothered spell resistance.

Idea: he tries anyway but each square of movement there is a 50% chance it goes towards the goal or else veers off to the left or right? I understand if this isn't agreeable. My feeling is that he would attempt the make the most of what's left of flaming sphere while figuring out how to un-blind himself.

He can also desperately try the ray of frost this round, and I'll roll the 50% for that attack roll (and he probably can't "move on" to the next foe if the original is down).
