Tocasia, Fisette, X-23 and Hep all manage to assist Deka in retying lines and retrieving lures. Naple makes a good attempt but she has trouble with tying fishing knots.
As Deka gets back into the competition, the crowd calms down. The judges return to the judging stand as Naple shows off her strength in an elaborate fashion and helps another competitor carry their catch basket. Fisette uses her finger as a lure to distract it while sneaking up on it. It works and she effortlessly grabs a fish. Hep on the other hand, uses the more direct approach and moves like the wind, sneaking up behind a fish and grabbing it. Maurice jumps in, swims around and tries to herd the fish to his companions. Unfortunately, most of the fish swim past him before he can herd them in the right direction. Tocacia uses a ninja-like move and snatches a fish while it swims by. X-23 creates a net-like barrier but unfortunately set it up in the wrong place.
The non-stop action continues.
Maurice remembers his studies in nature and recalls that injured fish are easier to catch. He notices one swimming erratically and grabs it. Fisette uses her mind to send her dagger into the water and into a fish. Tocasia attempts to make a fish look bigger but the judges aren't fooled. Naple tries to catch a fish by ambushing it from behind a rock. As ludicrous as it seems to the judges, they are impressed when she comes up with a fish. X-23 tries to get the other fish to believe he's one of them, but they aren't fooled. Hep also tries to remember her nature studies, but she forgets that fish movement has an aspect of randomness to it and misses the fish.
Tournament Point standings:
Rd 3: 3
Party Total - 11
Demed - 12
Deka - 9
"Ten more!" shouts Demed.
"It’s not over until the fish are counted", grumbles Deka as she hoists another catch into her half-full basket.
"Might as well be! You have no hope to catch up", replies Demed as fish start jumping from the water directly into his overflowing basket.
You realize that Demed's bait is somehow charming the fish but their behavior is becoming erratic, indicating that the magic is either very powerful or unstable.

EP-1 Arcana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
If this check is not tied to Victory Points/success counting system, Tocasia can roll too.
Tocasia Arcana: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Eidolons and summoners share a pool of actions. As a result, for Victory Point/success counting systems that allow each PC a limited number of chances to roll, either the summoner or the eidolon can attempt each check. The summoner's player chooses for each attempt which of the two rolls. Any direct consequences of failure apply to whichever creature rolled the check.
This rule does not mean that in general only one of the summoner or eidolon need to roll to deal with adverse situations. If everyone in a room needs to attempt a saving throw against a hazard, both the eidolon and the summoner need to attempt that saving throw. If every PC needs to overcome a particular obstacle in order to continue (such as crossing a chasm), the eidolon and summoner both need to get past the obstacle.

"What!?!? How did I not see that."
Maurice casts Detect Magic, and probably does figure out that something about the bait is magical.

Nope. We did all the Victory Points stuff earlier (instead of rolling them per round, I just had you do it all in one swell foop!)

Hep rains blows down on Black but she doesn't hit. Tocasia sends a spark of electricity at both Black and Green. Surprisingly for creatures of their size, both manage to avoid the worst of the damage. EP-1, however, moves to Black and pounds its electric arm on Black, striking it squarely and roasting it inside its shell.
Driven past its desire for food, Green releases Maurice and begins withdrawing from the scene.

Several judges approach once the crabs have been dealt with. One of them interrogates Demed, who comes clean under the stern gaze of the judges. Deka asks that her brother be allowed to continue in the tournament without his magic bait, but since Demed’s actions endangered other participants, the judges are inclined to disqualify him.
You can either:
Advocate for Demed (Diplomacy)
Explain that the magic’s harm was the result of a malfunction rather than malice (Arcana/Occultism/Nature)

X-23 attempts to explain the physics behind the magic bait but he somehow gets confused and ends up simply agreeing with Maurice. The judges accept Maurice's explanation. Demed does not get away scot-free but instead has most of his catches invalidated. Demed is grateful to the party for advocating on his behalf.
"Thank you for speaking on my behalf. I won't use anything I don't understand in the future. I might have caused lasting harm to my new friends."
Once the crab carcasses have been moved to a clearing for the post-tournament feast, the action resumes. Naple recalls her studies of fish behavior and find the best hiding spots and snags some fish. X-23 attempts to attack the fish again with his crossbow, but this time isn't so lucky. Hep attempts to punch a fish but overbalances and falls into the water. Maurice jabs his lance to where he spotted a fish and manages to spear it. Tocasia jams its electrostatic pummeler to test its efficacy and shocks a fish into floating for easy retrieval. Fisette makes her dagger (with impaled fish) dance around before dropping into her basket. This attracts some attention and keeps their attention away from their lines.
Final Tournament Point standings:
Rd 4: 3
PCs: 14
Demed - 6
Deka - 12
All in all, your team does a great job in the tournament. At the end of the day, the judges tally up the scores and decide unanimously that your team has won. They walk up to each member of the group and hand you a small pouch containing 4 gp.
"It's very clear that your team has won the tournament! You all earn the title of Silver Sovereigns. We would like you to come back and defend your title next season!"
Deka and Demed are deeply grateful for and impressed by your actions during the event. "We are honored to have been beaten by competitors such as yourselves! You should come back next season and defend your title!"

Thanks all for playing!
