Veevee and Syrelle take out the dark grey guard with two hits. Khavarku tries to daze the light grey one.
Will (Modifier less): 1d20 ⇒ 10
The guard is dazed for a round.
While all this is happening, Duthuj tries to hack the door open. However when he gets to the door, he finds that the only real access point is an intercom. it takes a moment to get the cover off, but hacking into the system to actually force the door open will take some time, at least 30 secs if everything goes well.
That is one of 5 successes needed to get the door open.
However standing right there makes him a little too easily noticed.

Duthuj gets their program working faster and more efficiently, knocking a few seconds off the hack time.
Veevee fires a shot at the last guard, but has a small moment of conflict and fries a plant instead.
Syrelle and Khavarku both fire and swing at the same time taking the guard down.
On the Livechat, everyone gives a cheer, the stream flooding with emojis for a moment, with a few people ribbing Veevee for being such a poor shot with her pistol.
As Duthuj finishes hacking the door open, there’s a crackle as your comms flare to life again. But instead of the excitable tones of Vyrnandi, a gruff male voice taunts you, “So you’re the members of the Mrraheen who stole my files. I know what you’re trying to do, but you’ll never make it past the outpost’s defenses. I’m feeling generous, so I’ll give you one chance: turn tail and run if you value your miserable lives…” Consul Shethris laughs as he starts to describe details, “... or I’ll find you and flay your skin and then cut the still living flesh from your bones as I-” There’s a moment of silence followed by the voice of Vyrnandi cutting in “-ose a good girl? That’s a good computer, boot the mean old consul out of the comms. Right, crew, can you hear me? Seems he-whose-name-would-get-us-unneccessary-attention hacked our comms there for a moment. He’s onto us, we need to hurry before the place is teeming with guards.”
Veevee’s live chat goes wild for a few moments, some people still believing this is a staged publicity event, while others are hurling insults at the consul, and the chat moderators are having to handle more than a few expletives.
The party starts moving down the 10 foot wide stairs into a 20 foot square room where various guard supplies, weapons and anti-plant and bug sprays are stored. The group moves down a second set of stairs as Vyrnandi continues, “But good job handling all that! I really like the touch of hacking the turrets, and even better you didn’t leave any witnesses behind to possibly alert others. I’ve been watching your progress on Veevee’s stream, and it seems you are generating a lot of buzz, so keep it up! I’ll go quiet now so as to not tip anyone off in there, but remember If you need any help or advice I’m here.” Vyrnandi sighs wistfully, ”Maybe next time I’ll get off support duty and get in on the action…”
The door at the bottom of the second stairs opens into a dimly-lit entryway. Another door directly across seems to lead further in to the bunker. Thick metal walls silence any sounds from the world above, leaving the place with an eerie, hushed atmosphere, the only sounds coming from the low hum of a circulating fan and a computer on a neatly arranged desk with the chair pushed in. Between you and the door however are two robots who activate when you open the door and quickly realize you don’t have ID badges.
”STOP RIGHT THERE AND SURRENDER. THIS IS A RESTRICTED PLACE. YOU ARE UNAUTHORIZED TO BE HERE. YOU ARE UNDER ARREST. DO NOT RESIST.”

Duthuj gets a pretty immediate answer to his unvoiced question about his trick attack. Trying the same manuerver as last time, the chat is flooded shortly with comments on him being a one trick pony in a fight, how it’s boring, a request for a backflip and even a disparaging comment about ‘this being why he didn’t get into the fight outside.’ All this distracts the ijtkri enough he fails to be sneaky and alerts the robot he’s moving, but his shot still aims true, hurting the robot slightly.
Syrelle on the other hand, gets some encouragement for their missed shot earlier and this time hits with her shot.
Veevee calls out for advice on these bots, when WanderingWeydenite comments, “These interceptor bots aren’t grounded properly! super susceptible to electricity” pointing out they have an electricity weakness. Veevee pulls out her ‘Gruff-Skit’s All-Purpose Survival Knife’ and for a moment forgets she’s not doing yet another promotion for the sponsor, and tries to open the ‘can’ of the softly padded robot’s arm.

You can rest up if you'd like, but I'll be pushing us along here.
With the two robots down and gone, the room can be investigated.
The computer could try being hacked into DC 22 Computers, or you could move onto the next room.
| GM Sedoriku |
Duthuj gets into the computers and finds a few things they could do inside the system.
They first check to see if they could just upload the data they want to send from here, but that system is physically sperate from the rest of the facility. However, the facility controls aren't.
You can get access to a blueprint of the outpost as well as the geotagging of the various employees here.
Full copy of the map on slide 2, I'll add tokens for the various people tomorrow as I need bed tonight.
You do find another set of guards in the guard rooms quickly getting into gear in response to an alert from the robot, but you could lock the doors down to those rooms, fry the circuits with a few extra amps of power and leave them likely trapped for a few hours.
Vaidra
|
"Lock the doors and broadcast their struggles to the chat? We definitely want the blueprints if you can get them."
Khavarku takes a moment to cast Lesser Resistant Armor (lasts 50 minutes). "Veevee, you should take a breather. Keep watch, but don't move."
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Anything interesting around?
| GM Sedoriku |
Khavarku is able to lock the doors with a single command and then as Veevee rests up, patches in a small streaming device into the camera feed from the barracks and adding the resultant image to the stream as a smaller screen.
During the down time, the footage proves to be enough to keep people interested, with the vesk stuck inside trying various tactics to get out, culminating in jousting with the door with a doshko. The door wins, handily!
After Veevee rests and Khavarku finishes his work on the computer and his spell, the group moves onto the next room, where the computer was giving a read out of a single pahtra in the space.
The single steel door leads into a 20-foot long corridor, with another door at the end of the hall. The metal walls give the corridor a harsh, industrial feel. A faint hum of machinery suffuses the area, though no source is visible.
At the other end of the hallway is a male pahtra doing some work on the keypad to the next door. He glances over his shoulder, taking a hurried step through the doorway next to him as he taps out the last few numbers on the keypad on the otherside. “Sh—shoo! Please. Please just go. I don’t know who you are or what you want, but I just work here. S-sorry.” He gulps, his knees shaking. “You really shouldn’t have come here. Do you know what they do to people who anger them?”
As he finishes the number sequence and before you can react, the far door slams shut and locks followed quickly by the door you just came through. A few thin panels slide aside on the walls as the machinery behind them whirs to life.

The trap takes too long to activate, giving everyone a chance to react to it before it starts flinging what sounds like blades of force into the room.
This is a slightly different type of combat than normal, for the most part there are three actions you can take on your turns: 1) a Computers or Engineering check disable, 2) an Engineering (easier than disabling) check to identify the trap and learn more about it (also gives a bonus to further disable checks) or 3) dodge (a DC 15 reflex save to give yourself +4 AC versus the blades when they fire on their turns.)

Veevee spends a little too long looking at chat and fails to get any actual progress done on the trap workings. However that proves to be a benefit as Duthuj recognizes these types of traps. A common installation in Veskarium institutions from last decade that added a second trap that triggers when the first is disabled, most of these kinds of traps were decommissioned due to ethical considerations (and problems that accidental triggerings caused.) This one seems to have a secondary electric floor trap added to it. They luckily know how to disable them in one fell swoop.
Everyone has a +2 to disable and can avoid triggering the electric floor failsafe.
Syrelle readies to dodge the trap when it activates, but fails to note he has hooked his gun strap on the door knob behind him.
