Okay so I will transform the 4 skills, which it states all become class skills not just the one you choose into Class Skills as stated and apply the 4 ranks instead of into a single skill into all 4 skills as that seems like the most logical way of fixing the anomoly

Also GM while not 100% complete I have reformatted the character sheet into a play oriented rendition and removed the by level build rendition. I have included the first half of her background found under the Spoiler Background: The Beginning and will hopefully get the second part Background: The Becoming which is where Talia and Shimy become a Bonded pair. Shimy's player has been a bit under the weather so our collaboration on that has slowed down some what but we will gitter dun as soon as we can.

I will finish up choosing Weaves and Equipment and get that posted as well but for the most part, unless you plan to drop us right into a fight we can role play our characters as we iron out the final elements.

Yeah I've noticed a lot of time when you submit a post, that it doesn't show up immediately.

Quick questions, will Alathea travel with us, if not does one of us open the way gate. The young man who asks for our help, is this in the dream sequence or is this a young man we meet?

As a side note. We are able to dot in the game thread so the game shows on our que. Just delete the post afterwards and it will not show on the page. But it will prompt the game to show on your que. It looks like only Rizz, Tehn and I are showing as players.

we'll be starting the game in the city of Far madding.

quick jist:
you all swore to be hunters of the horn in the Tammaz square. you adventured through the westlands tracking leads, and all came up short. Something told you to travel back to Illian and start over again. You did, you followed the road north, and were diverted when you discovered a group of thieves following you out of Illian. You found shelter in a small village on stilts called Shetto. There you spent the night in the only Inn, having been allowed to stay there by the visiting merchant, as only Merchants (and associates) with direct business with Shetto are allowed.
While there, you watched a young lady perform in front of the tavern audience. When she laid eyes upon all of you, She had a Foretelling. You know this because a lady came forward to offer aide to the young singer, and you discovered she was Aes Sedai. A couple of you joined the aes sedai in helping the young lady recover from her Foretelling ordeal (it rendered her unconscious). During the night, everyone shared the same dream of a man trapped in the mountains being hunted down by a strange looking crazed male channeler. The aes sedai, an Alathea, she was also present and was able to deflect the channelers attack momentarily. The man offered his thanks briefly but begged everyone to go to Far Madding and seek out "jair's publisher". There youd find a copy of the map he used to navigate the Ways to his current location. The channeler broke through the aes sedai, and his attack forced you all to wake up. Alathea summoned you all to her room and asked for you to aide this man. She handed you a rough drawn sheet of paper with odd runes sketched upon it. She told you that there is a Waygate not a half days ride north of the village. It is only two guide stones to Far Madding. The journey through the Ways, although scary, was surprisingly uneventful and carried you out safely unto a hilltop overlooking Far Madding.

So is this our opening scroll? Are we in the hills overlooking Far Madding, or is there something else you need to put in game before we begin posting?

hey guys, i need to put a pause on this. My buddy is having a really really hard time with the passing of his mom. So i will be spending a few days with him helping him figure out finances and estate maintenance.

It's cool Rizz, take care of your friend. WoT will wait.

I wantes to thank everyone for their patience with me. My friend was a hot mess. Wasnt eating, showering...just damn near giving up. Luckily his mom had the foresight to arrange her funeral ceremony 2 months back when she was diagnosed with cancer. She was told shed be around for two years, but beginning of last month she fell down and cracked her hip. After that it went fast.
My friend has been dealing with these savage extremes of depression and guilt ridden joy. He lost his mom, but as he put it "in one night i went from a bachelor who barely had $300 in my checking, living with 3 guys, to now having $150k in cash and a house valued over $300k". And to top this off, he's scared shitless he's gonna be stupid with the money. So ive been helping him out with home ownership and grieving his moms passing. He's getting his three meals a day now, showering, and, imo, has turned the hump.

Glad to hear he is doing better.

Before i get the ball rolling on this, was there anything i was forgetting? im not seeing anything that i missed, but i thought id ask.

is the Nine's character Jair Serkerova joining us? He dotted here but not in game. I didn't know if he was up to date with us.

No, no, for real I remember you mentioning those "Heron Marked" blades. Yeah, really ol... ancient blades you said, yeah, dat's right, an' how they make you a really gr... godly swordsmen yeah, yeah, an' that ability to fly uh.. through space... and... time, yeah, yeah and become invis... completely and utterly undetectable, yeah, yeah that's it that's the ticket.

So, i owe the group an apology for going radio silent a couple weeks ago. i know i mentioned it in the group discord, but i never posted here for those people who dont utilize discord.

My father died on May 13th. totally unexpected. Suffered a massive heart attack. It started and within 5 minutes he was dead. so yeah, that really thrown me off.

I have wanted to get this game back up and running, but that creative side of me is just absent. And without it, i know i would provide a really crappy gaming experience for everyone.

I know eventually, how i am feeling right now will ease up, and my creative juices will get flowing and i'll start wanting to play this and the other WOT homebrew game, but right now, i got nothing.

i wanted to give everyone a heads up as to what is happening with me, to not think that i just flaked out and decided to screw everyone over.

Thanks for the heads up Rizz. You need to take care of yourself and we totally understand. When my dad died I shut down for over a year.

When you're ready to pick this back up we'll be ready. If the crowd get's thinned too much, we'll just combine games or something.

Maybe I'll take up listening to 'Metal' for a few hints as to the plot :)

No problems here Rizz will be here (God willing) when you return. It is great that you have a strong connection with your father just, as I stated on Discord, try to focus on remembering the good things and celebrating your the time you had with him and whatever you do try to stay away from the negative thoughts that seem to come on strong during this time.

Keep in mind you were blessed with a father you got to know, some folks do not even get that.

Completely understandable, taking care of yourself comes first and foremost. I hope things get better for you.

Having trouble getting into book 6. The story on the women seems to have faded into the background. Mat's been reduced to a sketch on the back wall. Perrin's story has promise, but feels like it is being shorted to keep the rotation going. And Rand has grown away from being a full character and feel smore like an attempt to focus on the dichotomy of human existence, with little personality revealed.

Now, I reached the part where Mat's leading his army for the diversion this morning, and he's growing into a character again. So, I have hope. But the first bit of this book has been a struggle to force myself to keep going.

Don't give up, it get's better, then worse, then better again...so forth and so on :)

But the whole serious is definitely worth the read.

from your description, i have a vague idea that i think youre only about half way through. it gets good. real good. really really good. My favorite scene in the entire series is in that book. you'll love it!

Bookmark is at page 198. Last page of story in this book is 1018. So, yeah, roughly 20% in so far.

My absolute least favorite thing about reading the series so far is the opening of each book, where the new story gets started, but a recap of what's already happened is melded into and through it. I'm getting tired of reading the same highlights repeatedly in order to see what's starting.

Might be involved in my current outlook on the volume. Maybe.

I used to read a series or self-contained stories that due to the fact that someone could have picked up any book within the series it always recapped some of the basic information to maintain continuity as such I usually skimmed passed the redundant information to get back to the current story. This in a book series that have like at least 30 books or more.
