Oz looks out from behind his shield as he approaches the snake to see that it's head has been transfixed by an arrow, and it's stuck to the wall behind it unmoving.

He turns to Mergenci and nod's his head with a feline smile. "Got a problem with snakes do you"?

He then looks at the others. "Well due to Mergenci's sharpshooting we are no long completely poor. Looks like that's about 125 cp each. Shall we continue"?

Hold on there... if there's anything that looks like a trap, that does. I mean why is a snake hanging out on loose change? Give that pile a poke with something long first before we go putting hands on it. There could be a snake pit under it.

He makes his way around the pit then marks the wall on the far side carefully.

Can't help thinking we might accidentally fall in this on the way out... see if you can carefully grab a few coins to throw on this side of the pit.

After scouring the ground for a few copper pennies to put on the approach on both sides of the pit he leads the party down the corridor.

The corridor is long, and you are still going down. But it's a gentle slope, as if someone anticipated you going down. There seems to be places to rest along the way. You know that only you can go down so far before you reach the dwarven city.

Ril takes note of the rest spaces... how far they are apart and where he is in reference to this distance...

This sort of thing is important if you ever worked on trains and in tunnels

Mer follows the others down the corridor and tried not to think of how deep underground they are going. He becomes a little nervous as they continue, and helps Ril in taking his measurements between rest platforms.

"Will we be going all the way to the centre of the earth? Who built this place anyway??"

Oz grunts in response to Mer's question, and continues to follow Ril downward keeping an eye on the rear.

The darkness doesn't bother Aelfwyrd, but the lack of features and monotonous descent is quite dull. He feels drawn to the occasional resting places - not because he was tired, but just to have a break from the dull walk.

Finally, the group comes to a door with glowing dwarven runes. At last, the dungeon beckons. But what was behind this door? The fabled city of the dwarves?

Well in all the stories it means 'Speak Friend and enter'... , he says pointing at the runes. But knowing the tight fisted little bastards, it probably means 'Hands off our gold', he says bitterly, remembering the time he got punched in the nadgers by a dwarf at one of his uncles underground casinos.

"If they are anything like the dwarves up in the city, it probably reads 'Happy Hour 5pm-7pm'. But looks like there's only one way onwards, so let's try the door."

Aelfwyrd approaches the door, still wondering about the meaning of the runes. Slowly he reaches out his hand, and knocks on the door.

The door opens, and there is a large cavern up ahead with grand archways and columns. This city has to be Dwarvenhearth, the lost city of the dwarves. Many delvers came to this city, and some meet their deaths here.

He looks over to the goblins, hoping for some clues about how long they've been there, how they died and so forth...

"Any signs of a fight in those goblins?" The policeman in Aelfwyrd awakens, and he joins Ril in investigating the corpses. And whether the wounds are from teeth or claws or axes, would tell the group what could await them.

But most worrisome would be if there's no wounds at all

The torchlight casts so many shadows into the room, who knows what could be lurking there. He moves into the left side of the room, peeking behind the row of columns.
