As Gruamach steps into the airlock with Bubba and Pamatea not far behind, the kasatha biohacker suddenly notices something! It's a trap!
There are several exposed wires inside both sets of airlock doors, and Pamatea thinks that if the airlock was to be activated, these would unleash live current into every living being inside that chamber!
To disable this trap, make an Engineering Check, opening the below spoiler AFTER seeing your result:

Mec-01 is able to swiftly make the way ahead safe, allowing you to all pass through the airlock in whatever order you decide. This gives you access to several new areas to examine.
Soundtrack 4: Facility Ambient
(Areas labeled on the map A-E)
A -
Lockers line the north and south walls of this room, with benches in between. The lockers hang ajar and their contents are spread haphazardly over the floor.
The toilets and showers are functional. The lockers contain a total of 10 space suits, though three are torn beyond repair. One of the showers contains an empty bottle of shampoo with “STOP USING MY SHAMPOO” written on it that belongs to Dr. Thrai.
B -
Locked double doors are labeled "mines" and are made of starship-grade steel.
C -
The two holding cells in this hallway can hermetically seal a worker exposed to contaminants or detain a hostile creature. The cells contain dirty bedding within.
D -
This medical clinic contains two computers, an exam table, and a counter. Various medical supplies are scattered all over the floor. Paperwork and signs suggest that this room served as Dr. Renou’s lab as well as a clinic for mild injuries or illnesses anyone on the team suffered. The computer requires Dr. Renou’s credentials to access but can be hacked.
A cabinet in the room holds an advanced needler pistol, 3 doses of tier 1 sedatives, and a standard syringe stick.
Another recent hacking attempt corrupted most of the files and research. There is only one log of interest you can retrieve:
Handout 2
(Please share this with your party!)
E -
Surveying the wreckage inside this room, it’s possible to ascertain that it once functioned as a laboratory. Shattered computer monitors and bent pieces of equipment lie scattered on the rocky floor. An upended tray of rock samples clutters a workstation at the center of the room. Smashed planters leak potting soil mingled with pieces of rotten green fruit onto the floor. More of this odd fruit hangs ripe from a woody shrub in the intact planter to the east.
The desk against the western wall belonged to Dr. Ordez, the next desk to the right belonged to Dr. Thrai, and the rightmost desk belonged to Havar Maddu. Each desk has a single computer terminal; a successful DC 20 Engineering Check is required to repair each terminal before anyone can operate it.
If repaired:
DC 18 Culture or Piloting Check -
DC 21 Perception Check -
You can also collect and examine Dr. Ordez’s mineral samples. You must first succeed at a DC 14 Engineering Check to repair the lab equipment, then a DC 22 Physical Science Check to identify the samples of note.
Finally, you can examine what is growing in the planter.
Two labeled doors exit the lab, one to the northeast and one to the southeast.
Several avenues of investigation lay ahead of you. After engaging in these, you can choose three paths:
1 - West: The Mines
2 - Northeast: Officer's Quarters
3 - Southeast: Rec Room

Computer Dr Havar:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29 Hacked
Computer Dr Ordez, Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 Failed

Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Pamatea repairs a second unit.

As Mec-01 works on the lab equipment, Pamatea looks to the planter.
Life Science: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

The few relevant skills that Bubba possesses has already been successfully rolled by others in the party. As a result....
Bubba puffs away on his cigar following along. With every revelation that his teammates discover while searching through these rooms, he responds with either a 'Duuuuude!!!' or 'Maaaaaaaan!!!' or 'Brooooo!!!' or 'Wooooooaaaahhh!!' or 'Daaaaaang duuuuuude!!!' or 'No way maaaaaaaan!!!' or combination of the above strung together.

Pamatea

"The officer's quarters may have more clues. Let's go there first."
I think that's the same door that Ji-Thil is indicating?
Gruamach MacAbhais

Seeing Damoritovitch just head for the door pointed out by Ji-Thil, and expecting the big vesk not to wait for consensus, Gruamach follows.
The Dire GM
|
Ji-Thil sweeps the area as Mec-01 continues to discover information (Handout 2 under Spoiler D is of particular note). Pamatea correctly notes that all of the terminals are in need of work, and between them are able to obtain information from Dr. Thrai's and Havar's computer systems, while Dr. Ordez's terminal and desk elude them.
Bubba and Gruamach keep an eye out, while the former most likely reflects on the construction standards for Starfinder pre-fab outposts and why they don't scale to accommodate the ever-growing (pun intended) number of larger agents from the Dragonkin, Uplifted Bear, Sarcesian, and even Shobhad ranks!
Damorisovitch finds that the sicklefruit is ripe, juicy, sticky, and delicious.

The beds in this room are stripped of bedding, exposing bare, shredded mattresses. The blankets and stuffing are piled into a corner into a haphazard nest befouled by an unknown creature.

Communication workstations and blinking monitors cover the walls in this room, indicating that the equipment is still functional.
You can review the comms logs...
These computers also track the locations of several drones the research team deployed to gather survey data about the asteroid belt as a whole as well as the team's mission to-date. These data are intact and unaltered.
To delve deeper into the computers beyond the above...
If you acquire these blueprints, your GM will reveal and label the rest of the map the next time he checks in.
Several more avenues of investigation lay ahead of (and behind) you. After engaging in these, you can choose from two directions:

Blazin' Bubba
|
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Bubba follows Damorisovitch and Gruamach further into the outpost, looking around and keeping his weapon ready.
Not having much knowledge to contribute with what the party discovers, Bubba contributes what he can... "Heya buuuuddies! There's a lot of strange mysterious things going on. We're all tense. We're all on edge. I mean, dude, look at me walking around with my weapon out. When does anyone do that? Only when one feels like they're in danger, right guys?
"So look, all this is stressful and I guess what I'm trying to say is... Anyone want a cigar? I've got plenty to share!"
Bubba's perception wasn't good enough to uncover anything and he doesn't have the skills for the rest of the investigation rolls. He'll just try to stay towards the front whenever the group enters a new room and while the rest of the team is investigating / searching around, he'll continue to stay in the middle and watch out for any dangers.
When we're ready to move on, my vote is to go south to the rec room since we're already right next to the door.

The formian follows the discoveries with interest. But he asks in the bedroom:
I beg your pardon but what are these organic fragments?
And then he concludes:

Thanks to Pamatea pulling up the station schematics, you now have a full layout of Outpost 634. Look for the map to be updated shortly with new labels!
Mec-01 discovers some interesting information. Check their post for which spoilers to open (for handouts and other intel).

Soundtrack 4: Facility Ambient
Rec Room -
This spacious room contains tables and benches running along the eastern wall. A ball court divided by a net occupies the majority of the room, though the court is clearly no longer used for its intended purpose. A nest of old bedding is strewn over the painted floor. Planters in an alcove to the south contain more shrubs bearing the familiar green fruit.
If you examine the bedding...
To look around in general...
The computers in this room are functional and not password-protected, but they only contain music, movies, vidgames, and karaoke programs on them. The cleaning closet has been ransacked but most of its contents are still within (mundane cleaning agents, mops, etc.), and the public restroom is still functional.
Crew Quarters -
The narrow hallway has doors on either side that lead to small but functional quarters, each with a bed and storage locker. The northeastern room looks like it was modified so that it could be locked from the outside.
To search this room...
Searching the other rooms only reveals three items. Havar Maddu's room contains a pair of xenowarden's boots and a cover seed. Sonder's datapad is easy to access, and contains several drafts of a romance novel in progress and a series of emails between Sonder and his superiors at Resurgent Technologies discussing whether the team’s study of the starship fragments revealed anything of interest to their R&D department.
Two options remain once you have investigated a bit more:
1 - Storage Room
2 - Mines & Underground Hangar

The formian let his companions do the job here and waits for the results.
Then: I think the better is to inspect the storage room before to go to the mines.
Blazin' Bubba

Bubba muses thoughtfully, head shrouded in a haze of cigar smoke, "So there was some large creature tied to unknown starship fragments... The staff here got friendly with the creature and fed it fruit that no one else liked... They were even planning to bring the creature back to pact worlds... Jinsul came and attacked, killing the kasatha... Probably imprisoned the large creature for a while... But right now, we don't yet know what happened to all the staff or the creature or the jinsul... Although with the kasatha dead, we can probably assume the jinsul won the fight... And we know some beings left through the airlock we came in and some may have left using the backup starship..."
Bubba then snaps out of his head-in-the-cloud musings, demeanor changing back to what you're accustomed to, "Yah, Ji-Thil the thrill! (Ya like that? It just came to me man!) Let's check out storage for any leftover snacks first!" [/b]
Damorisovitch

GM, how did the fruit taste?
"Storage seems to be a good place to check next." says Damorisovitch, as he fiddles with the new armor.
Rather good, all facts considering.
With no one explicitly stating that they're opening the door, Damorisovitch does so, undoing the lock...then jumping back as the door is bashed the rest of the way open!
This room is foul with the stench of excrement. Hidden among the smashed crates littering the floor are the cracked-open, chitinous exoskeletons of multiple human-sized creatures you recognize to be the remnants of jinsuls. A hulking, spined mammal menaces the intruders - you, with a rumbling growl!
What happens next is solely dependent on what you do next, Starfinders!

Sorry, GM... missed it in the wall of text. My bad.

"No, Damorisovitch only sampled one, as Damorisovitch is not greedy. But anything that feasts on Jinsuls is ok in my book!"
Damorisovitch double-moves to the plants, planning on getting some for the armadillo-squirrel.
No worries - this scenario in PbP-mode is 2/3 "wall of text" so I totally get it.
Pamatea quickly deduces that the animal is ravenously hungry, and you can all see evidence that she is omnivorous, having consumed no less than three jinsuls, whole (minus bits of chitin and armor plating). Damorisovitch runs to get more fruit as she starts to press at the doorway, snarling as she sniffs the air.
To keep her calm long enough for your dragonkin and vesk friends to return, make a Survival (handle an animal) Check, unless you have an ability or augmentation that lets you communicate with animals using another method!
No open hostility means no rolling initiative...so far!
