Xylian follows the telia
Move 50' to the 'E' door.

Zharis |

You are tracking the loot, right Cabizo?
Zharis tries to identify the strange bloody-bullet patch on the armor as she removes it from the unconscious man.
Culture (to recognize patch): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Then she leaves the manacled mercenary and double-moves to the stairs, switching to her tactical semi-auto pistol, intending to interfere with the burglary.

Jin leaps over bannister and lands on the exhibit floor, startling the ikeshti! Cabizo also rushes to the balcony, but instead of jumping, he fires a pinpoint laser shot into the top of the ikeshti mechanic’s shoulder. Xylian and Zharis also sprint to the scene of the battle.
Meanwhile, following Jin’s command to cut off the ikeshtis’ retreat, Hani rushes to the elevator, only to find it inactive!
Jin--Love it! Cinematic actions like that are really fun.
Hani, the elevator has been switched off remotely and you have to take it down one level to get to the main museum floor. It would take a Computers check to get it working again. Your energy shield will still be up.
Cabizo, your attack hit. Do you plan to slay your enemies 1 hp at a time? It might just work!
Zharis, you’re not sure what the patch represents.

Hani Makoa |

Back to round one--it looks like Hani would have had enough movement to make it to the elevator and still have a standard action. Here's his computer check:
computers to get the elevator back up and running: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Assuming that gets us into the elevator, here is his round two actions:
Hani moves into the elevator, holds the door for Xylian, and smiles. "Going down?"
As pleasant music plays through a tiny speaker, Hani readies his weapons and steps out of the elevator as soon as he can.
If he has any actions or movement left when the elevator reaches the lower floor, he'll take another move action. I'll move him 20' from the elevator (as shown on map). Back him up if the elevator takes longer.

Jin strikes at the ikeshti who activated the robot, hoping it’ll disrupt the automaton’s orders.
Enforcement-class capture pole vs. yellow ikeshti’s KAC: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Piercing damage: 1d8 + 4 + 4d6 ⇒ (7) + 4 + (3, 5, 1, 1) = 21
The dice aren't playing along with Jin's cinematics

GM Jhaeman |

Hani reaches the elevator and hurriedly tries to get it operation, but his first attempt fails. Meanwhile, on the exhibit floor, Jin's capture pole crushes the ikeshti mechanic's skull!
Hani, you didn't succeed on the Computers check. Assuming that first attempt was in Round 1, you can try again this round.
Yellow is very, very dead. Jin, I think the dice are serving you pretty well so far :)
Cabizo, Xylian, and Hani's re-try are up.

Hani Makoa |

computer check--round 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Hani can't figure out this elevator. Luckily, there's more music to listen to.
Xylian, maybe you could try. Your computers is better than mine.

Xylian Xuuvats |

Xylian's implanted exocortex wirelessly connects to the elevators control system and activates the emergency evacuation protocols, bypassing the remote shutdown and sending it to the ground floor.
Computers: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
If that won't do it nothing will... so, Move action to fix the elevator, move action to move into the room?

Jin Goei |

Yellow is very, very dead. Jin, I think the dice are serving you pretty well so far :)
That was a pleasant surprise!

Cabizo |
3 people marked this as a favorite. |

Cabizo slides to the left and tries to keep the poor robber from dying while also keeping an eye on the remaining three and the robot that might be compromised and Zharis who was running into danger and Xylian who was running into danger from the other direction and his new teammates and for any random politicians that might have happened to draw this trouble to them in the museum.
Move and cast stabilize. Dunno if he's still there (unconsciousness and death is weird in Starfinder, doubly so for NPCs), but it's worth the effort.

GM Jhaeman |

The security robot lurches into operation with a start--it looks like the ikeshti manage to reprogram it in the instants before Jin killed her! "Detain...Destroy...Defeat...All...But...Ikeshti" It raises its arm and fires an integrated pulsecaster blast at Jin!
Jin, this will provoke an AoO from your reach weapon. This type of security robot isn't the smartest!
Jin, you take 2 points of electricity damage.
attack vs Jin's EAC: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
damage (electricity, nonlethal): 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Jin Goei |

Jin tries to smack the robot as it falls into his trap!
AoO: Enforcement-class capture pole vs. Robot's KAC: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Piercing damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
It's a powerful swing, but likely a miss!

GM Jhaeman |

Meanwhile, on the other side of the main floor, Xylian rushes out of the elevator and into the section of the museum that's under renovation. But he doesn't get far before a creature made of superheated air and flame darts out from the ceiling to attack!
I'll roll Initiative for this creature in the next round.

Zharis |

Zharis moves up and shoots at blue.
Attack (Tactical Semi-Auto): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Piercing Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Additional Crit Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

GM Jhaeman |

Zharis' shot tears a hole right through his target's chest! The ikeshti is barely able to stand.
In the midst of the firefight, the expedition team's comlinks beep with an incoming message from Nib: "Sorry to wake you all. I've received an automated security alert from the museum? Taeress and I are . . . uh, busy . . . at the moment. Could you take a quick look around? Probably just a fault in the system."
The wounded ikeshti's eyes bulge and then squirt blood at Zharis, blinding her to the incoming attack! The other two dart from display case to display case, one hitting Cabizo up on the balcony while the other attacks Jin, who ducks just in time.
1/day as move action can squirt blood from his eyes at one foe within 30’, making a ranged attack (+6) against the target’s KAC. If the attack hits, the next attack against that foe gains the benefit of harrying fire against it.
Zharis, you're hit for 2 E. Cabizo, you're hit for 5 E.
Squirt blood vs Zharis KAC: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Pulsecaster (w/ harrying fire) vs Zharis EAC: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

In the renovation area, the creature composed of superheated air swoops down from the ceiling, claws at Xylian, and then flies back up to the ceiling!
The creature is using Spring Attack. The ceilings in this are are 30' high.
Xylian, you get hit for 10 B.
Slam attack vs Xylian's KAC: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23

Hani Makoa |

Hani can only shake his head incredulously, wondering what kind of job he finds himself in. Still, he can't leave his fellow employees in the lerch. He has his pistol in his hand, and he moves forward and fires at the creature hovering near the ceiling (though he has no way of knowing if bullets will even hurt a "living mass of super-heated air".
move as shown, then firing slipshot pistol.

I considered using my disguise self to fool the robot as a ikeshti, but then it would turn towards my allies...

Xylian Xuuvats |

Despite the solid (somehow) hit from the (incorporial) elemental Xylian's combat targeting software quickly bring it into sights and Xlyian squeezes off an accurate shot of (hopefully) deadly ice at the flame creature.
Move action to Combat Targeting elementa. Standard action to Overcharge and shoot it. Looks like it's VS KAC since it does physical and energy damage.

”Oh, that’s an air elemental!” Cabizo calls helpfully. ”Though it looks like it’s happy in hot places and probably immune to fi- ouch!” The skittermander turns back towards the person who shot him and raises his own pistol. Carefully he closes his left eye and fires a single return shot.
Laser Pistol vs Red: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Fire damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
I don’t know if he can do so from a game mechanics perspective, but Cabizo would try to duck behind the railing for cover between shots.

GM Jhaeman |

Hani fires his slipshot pistol at the flying creature, but it easily zig-zags out of the way--right into an icy projectile fired by Xylian!
Over on the museum floor, the twin claws of Jin's capture pole crush into the security robot's torso. Although badly damaged, it remains upright. Cabizo, locked in a gun battle with an ikeshti, scores a glancing blow.
Hani missed, Xylian hit and did normal damage. Jin and Cabizo also hit.
Cabizo, you can drop prone as a swift action and then stand up with a move action prior to your attack each round.

Zharis |

Zharis shoots again at blue:
Attack (Tactical Semi-Auto): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Piercing Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Then she moves around the display to the north and then west, forcing her opponent to make some effort if he chooses to come after her again.

One of the two remaining ikeshti shouts something to the other in a strange tongue.
They then sprint toward the back of the room and open fire on Zharis from two directions at once! The display case next to the pahtra shatters from an electrical bolt, disorienting her enough that the second attack hits her right in the back!
One of the attacks missed, but the second was a crit. Zharis, you take 10 E.
Red attack vs Zharis (cover): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Green attack vs Zharis: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

Over in the renovation area, Hani has only an instant to react as the air elemental swoops down from the ceiling towards him! But his custom-made cosplay armor completely shrugs off the attack, leading the frustrated creature to return to its perch.
Spring attack on Hani, then returning to ceiling 30' up. The attack misses with a nat 1.

Jin's capture pole catches the security robot's torso, and then the twin spiked "claws" squeeze so tight that the automaton is cut in half! The robot's upper body flies off and crashes into a display case, while its legs slump to the floor, sparking and sizzling.
That robot is quite destroyed!
Another post coming up soon.

GM Jhaeman |

The strange solar-adapted air elemental hisses in pain as another icy projectile fired by Xylian tears through it. As it starts another attack dive, Cabizo assaults it psychically!.
Meanwhile, Hani tests out a skipshot pistol--a firearm imbued with teleportation magic! The projectile "skips" through normal space before embedding itself in an ikeshti's arm.
Xylian's attack hits for full damage, and the elemental fails the Will save against Cabizo's attack. The elemental is *almost* destroyed.
Hani's attack hit.

Piercing Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1

GM Jhaeman |

A bullet grazes the shoulder of the burglar closest to Zharis. The wounded ikeshti growls low, drops its pulsecaster rifle, draws a longsword, and rushes toward Zharis with an overhand chop! But the maddened assailant stumbles, and only smashes open a display case. The other one returns fire at Hani, but the target's heavy armor absorbs the electrical attack harmlessly.
Attacks against Zharis and Hani both missed.

Somehow, in the completely-indoors museum, the wind begins to pick up as the elemental begins to spin faster and faster. Soon, renovation debris flies through the air as the whistling airflow intensifies. In seconds, the elemental is spinning so far it's a veritable tornado! It drops from the ceiling and tries to pull Hani and Xylian into its funnel!
Hani and Xylian, please make a DC 12 Fortitude save and (whether the Fort save is successful or not) a DC 12 Reflex save.
You take 12 B and are flat-footed, grappled, and off-target. At the beginning of your turn, you can attempt a DC 12 Fortitude save; if it succeeds, you escape the whirlwind and can take the rest of your turn normally. If it fails, you are still in the whirlwind and lose your turn.
