You're looking a little rough there friend. How about a murder mystery to get those juices flowing again?
She grins feebly at your gallows humour, "I am tired, that's all."
Alerted by your concern, Quil takes note, "Ha! We need to sing a little spirit back into your soul, my friend. Come, we will fill your bellies, find you comfortable, safe beds and then we will enliven your days!"
She takes away Mun's family members, fussing over them like a mother hen.

that evening
THE BLUSHING VALKYRIE turns out to be a large and fairly popular inn run by the gnome Lueven Qorlipur. This tavern is known for its risqué cabaret performances featuring actors dressed as legendary warriors from Ulfen lore whose armour is more revealing than protective. A wide array of beverages are available on tap, including several kinds of throatfire whiskey, and the beds are soft and warm.
You may partake (or not) as you like. Who am I to judge?
...

.
the next morning
Jivan is awakened early the next morning by a furious knocking at the door of his rented room. A young gnome woman by the name of Risoflen Chebs explains that her husband was one of the recently slain gnomes. When she went to visit his grave recently, she discovered that his body had been dug up and is missing. The gnome woman explains that she has already informed Quil, who asked the young woman to gather the pathfinders at The Blushing Valkyrie and bring them to the grave site as quickly as possible.
The grave site is just outside of the city proper in a small copse of snow-laden trees. Risoflen wastes no time in showing you all the way.
At the cemetery
You arrive to find Quil in intense, animated conversation with a pale, floating spirit. As you arrive, she smiles broadly, “Good! You’re here! I’d like you to meet the late Humush Mum. Humush, these are the heroes that I was telling you about, the ones who saved your family.”
Sleeping Sword
|
"Spirit, I am Sleeping Sword, a servant of the Empress of Heaven. You must walk the earth no more. How may we grant you the sleep that you have been wrongly denied? The necromancer who bound you must be stopped."
Sleeping Sword speaks softly, but keeps one hand on the hilt of his sheathed blade.
| GM Elberion |
Hummush speaks excitedly, "The necromancer, it is Ellux Shost. Defeat him and I will be free, I think. I can take you to his lair."
The figure fades for a moment, "I do not know if I can help you though I would like to. He was close to taking control of my mind. I could feel myself slipping. He controls those without life or death."
"You mean to face him, I hope. Should I fight beside you?"
Sleeping Sword
|
"It is noble of you to offer, Ghost of Hummush Mun. But too dangerous. I know much of the undead; it would take a colossal will to resist the necromancer's control, and you have not had time enough to develop that resistance.
The best thing that you can do is tell us of the necromancer's defences and abilities. What other undead does he surround himself with? What magic have you seen him use?"
| GM Elberion |
The ghost shivers, "I don't know much about him. He just has his power. He always has a belt with lots of pockets and things, and one of our hammers."
Father Urzaia Conflict

Stay put, Humush.
Sleeping Sword, will his commands cause you any trouble?
Lukaas Penn
|
of course, Lukaas spent the last night joining into the revely and festivities, regaling the crowd with bawdy or beautiful songs, playing on his luth, sharing more than a few drinks, carousing, flirting and having generally a blast.
He promises to come back in a few days, after his current mission, with an even better show
Taking 10 for Perform 22
Of course, the morning after, the bard is way less festive, and the sky seems to weigh heavily on his cranium.
But he keeps a valiant smile, as long as no one speaks too loud.
I'm glad we were able to help you, Milady Hummush. Maybe one of my companions would be able to shield your mind with a spell, so you don't succumb to that necromancer's power. I have a few tricks left too, of course.
Dana Katsu
|
Dana watched the festivities and was clearly impressed by Lukaas' performance but she rather tried to hide in the corner.
When the arrive at the cemetery and meet the ghost, Dana is careful.
"Ghost of Hummush, do you admit that you killed all these innocent people? Were you under the control of the Necormancer or were you forced to kill just like a tool because he had your family and threatened them?" she asks with a cold voice.
Sleeping Sword
|
Sleeping Sword, will his commands cause you any trouble?
"Uh, the only trouble I am caused is a sadness that so monstrous a man as Ellux Shost walks free. Though I am cursed, and my decrepit body decays, I am still a breathing creature. My curse may in fact protect me from Shost's powers.
By the Light of the Empress of Heaven, we will end Shost's evil."
| GM Elberion |
The ghost balks at Dana's word, "I had to protect my family. I had to! That's why I left all of those notes. Now that my family are safe, you can destroy him."
| GM Elberion |

Dana nods and steps back ... being less aggressive now.
"Mun's soul was unable to move on because she was the provider and protector for her family. She felt too much guilt at 'abandoning' them. By playing a part in protecting her family from Ellux Shost, you may help her spirit to pass into the afterlife. So we should continue and hopefully she can rest in peace!" Dana says.

Maybe miss Quil could host a big final farewell to your memory, and the entrance fee would go to your family's benefit? I promise I would play and sing for you, free of charge of course except a few ales.
