Tell me if I get this wrong. As a full-round action, I wish to run straight toward the stream and try to jump over it. It looks to be 15' wide there at the angle I'm headed, so that would make the acrobatics DC 15. If I stick the landing on the far bank, I'd like to keep going to the edge of the map. Grand Lodge

@Theo, I have never had to rule on a run while jumping. It is a full round action and in heavy armor is only 3X movement and furthermore can't have difficult terrain involved. The stream jump is not specifically called out as an action but the acrobatics skill indicates you can never move more than your maximum movement while jumping. Anyway, I think I have a solution that I feel comfortable with. Since Theo did not act at the very end of the previous combat, I will allow him to have moved towards the trumpet as the goblins move out of the woods. Then he can most definitely get over the stream with a double move and the previous move from the previous round. Call it a quasi-surpise round. End result: you are where you are.

Theo moves and leaps like a bird taking flight and sails over the stream. He lands in-stride and continues past the stunned goblins as his momentum bleeds away. Jakwin, moves forward trying to open a dialog with the pausing goblins as they figure out a way across the stream.

The Spear wielding goblin, in purple, screams again completely ignoring Jakwin's offer to talk. "Noooo! We raid, pillage and kill!"

She streaks towards the slowing form of Theo. "Charge!"

Both arrows plink off Jakwin's shield as he concentrates on blocking them.

Jak scowls down at his arrow-scarred shield, then over at Drin and Eurkar. "You heard me offer peace." He jogs north along the river, looking for a good place to jump across.

"Whatever else happens is on them," he mutters as he gets a running start and leaps across the river, closing on one of the goblins harassing Theo.

Trying to jump across the river without provoking AoO's. I put lines on the map to show his route to get that done. Aaaaand the jump check (+10 for his 40ft speed, -2 for the added ACP of his shield).

Jakwin finds a good place to cross and makes good on the jump. He lets it be known to his compadres that reasoning has failed and the gloves are off. Five goblin bodies and two dogs might have thought they were already off. But, I love the flavor.

Theo, fretting his rash decision to jump the creek, now has help. Let's see if he can benefit. I will allow the flank on yellow, though the Jakwin move technically should happen after Theo strikes.

Theo is up!

True, but I was thinking maybe everything up until this point was pretty much self-defense. And from this point forward, I saw an opportunity to let them stand down. Oh well, it was worth a shot. :)

Awesome! Thanks!

Thank you for making the jump happen. For what it's worth, Theo is in medium armour.

Now that they're up close, can I see if these goblins have demon bile on them

Theo barely steps clear of the purple goblins spear. "A feisty one!" Glancing around, he notices that yellow goblin is watching Jakwin approach and swings his morningstar down at the distracted goblin.

cold iron morningstar: 1d20 + 5 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 - 1 = 7

Still weary of the spear-wielding goblin, Theo swings wide. Cursing, he steps away.

With her spear purple-mad looking goblin steps after Theo. "Yous can't get away. I Kill!" Swinging a slashing cut with her spear-like weapon, she aims for the throat.

gm rolls:

She cuts deep gash in Theo's torso from chest to waste, missing the neck and jugular by inches. 9 hit points slashing damage to Theo.

Hearing Theo cry out, Drin rushes toward the melee. As he nears the river, he lowers his crossbow and fires it at the nearest goblin.

Drin shoots at the brown goblin

Drin's shot sails over the ducking, giggling brown goblins head, "Hee hee..."

Yellow goblin steps over to stab at Jawkin,

gm rolls:
