Theo's feeling of good will and being right with the world pops like a bubble. No more bless.
Drin pulls out a potion he had poached from the backpack earlier.
Zuheilen moves forward and let's out a magical bolt of fire that strikes the bugbear. caster check vs SR: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11 The bolt penetrates his magic resistance and blackens his chest.

Nixa -2hp bane

Nixa swings her sword again this time at the reddish goblin.
sword strike: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 - 1 = 9; dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
But is not able to connect. She then steps back towards the fence.

Theo yanks his shield off and drops it. Grasping his morningstar in both hands, he swings it at the lock with all of his strength.

Grand Lodge

The hard material of the lock seems to absorb most of the damage, but some small amount dents the lock.-2hp. Unfortunately the module does not separate the door and the lock, by rules I must use the door data as listrd. Hardness is 10. I think acid bypasses the hardness as this is a metal gate.

Drin takes another step forward, gesturing wildly in an attempt to slow the Bugbear. He casts Daze (DC 16) on it.

Mezadarath attempts to resist the spell. It penetrates his fiendish protections, but he attempts to use his will power to overcome the enchantment.

However he straightens and seems to lose focus momentarily. dazed

In the meantime, Nixa, with very little room to maneuver, strikes out at red goblin again. longsword at red: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22; dmg s: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10. She also this time, smashs at the yellow goblin with her shield as well. shield bash: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15; dmg b: 1d3 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
She slices red goblin with a cross body slash sending him to the ground unconscious. However, her shield clangs harmlessly off the yellow goblins shield. She then shifts North along the fence.

Theo and Eurkar are up! Just to mention, attacks can be made through the fence/gate bars at a -4 to the attack for cover, no opportunity attack are possible through it though.

"This gate's too sturdy." Theo steps away from it. "Maybe one of them has a key?" He gestures back toward the fallen goblins by the outer gate.

Stopping next to the dazed hobgoblin, Theo tries to swing his cold iron morningstar between the bars.

Both Theo and Eurkar take swings through the bars of the fence, but to no avail.

Yellow goblin shrieks as Eurkar attempts to hit him. He movess away from the fence and circles around to attack the warrior woman again.

Drin moves closer to the melee, and calls out to the goblin in its tongue, "Goblin stop fighting now. We come in and talk."

Zuheilen lets another firebolt go at the bugbear, reaching her hand through ths bars to avoid the cover. The bolt strikes the bugbear in the chest blackening its armor but this time also burning away hair and flesh. There is a smell of burned hair in the air.

Nixa takes the opportunity to back away and takes a totally defensive stance.

Hearing that the key is inside, Theo curses. ”I guess we’re doing this the hard way.” He drops his morningstar and moves next to the metal door again. As he goes, he yanks his greatsword from its scabbard. Raising it high above his head, he swings at the door with all of his strength.

Theo wacks on the lock a good one. Eurkar punches and kicks away at the bugbear who easily avoids the blows. Yellow goblin stands confused, "You say stop fight but Mezodarath not like." charisma check goblin: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1 versus charisma check drin: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17 "But if you think it is important..."[/b] and he starts toward Mezodarath with is hand out for the key.

"You weak minded fool. You're bewitched! I will kill you and I will kill you all." He pulls out his fetish and prays something. A wave of heat and foul energy engulfs everyone.

Drin hustles around his companions and tries to stab the bugbear through the bars.

The wave of negative energy has mixed results hurting Eurkar and Theo more and Drin and Zuheilen less.

Zuheilen shoots another bolt, this one catching the bugbear in the face. It howls in pain.

Drin scrambele up and pokes at the bugbear through the bars but can't quite hit him.

Nixa steps forward and taking the hilt her sword punches yellow goblin in the face. non-lethal sword strike: 1d20 + 7 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 7 - 4 = 13; dmg nl: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6. But yellow goblin flinches away avoiding the blow.

Eurkar kept Mezodarath occupied as Theo tried to had at the door. One blow was able to slip past the goblins defenses

Theo wacks the door again and sparks fly. 5hp more to the door.

Eurkar punches out at Mezodarath through the bars. One punch catches the bugbear in the ribs with a cracking sound. 6hp to the bugbear.

"Hey, sneaky long shanks. I stab you." In goblin.

He stabs the warrior woman under her armor with a sickening, bloody gash across her hip. Then he falls unconscious and dying.

Mezodarath yells out at Eurkar, "Insolence!" "I will drink your blood with dinner, orc-man." He strikes at Eurkar through the bars.

Eurkars eyes started to come back into focus as the healing spell too effect. Finding himself in a bad position, he tried to make the best of it, waiting for the bugbear to get moved or killed so he could safely stand up.

@Eurkar, the bars of the fence provide cover and thus do not allow AoO's. A hard corner would do the same thing. At least how I understand the rules they would.

Frustrated at how sturdy the door is, Theo turns back and thrusts his sword between the bars toward the bugbear.

Mezodarath drops to his knees, blood bubbling in his mouth. Slowly the mad light in his eyes fades and he pitches forward on his stomach and lies motionless.

Eurkar stands and moves back to stand by the cleric.

Theo pokes at the creature through the bars, stabbing the prone figure piercing its side and more blood pools.

Combat over! Unless you want to attack the woman.

The woman says, "Thank you. You have saved me from this mad creature."

You are not totally sure but you get the sense this is an Isgarian teenager, probably an apprentice warrior. He seems sincere in her desire to be freed.

Nixa, looks at her bloody sword and almost apologetically wipes it on the bugbears cloak. She then reaches for the keys hanging from the the corp's belt. She flips them to Theo.

"My name is Nixa Volsetti. My cousin and I were abducted from Saringallow and taken somewhere. We were held in a dark, cold room. There was a smell of decay and sulfur , almost like the odor of these filthy goblins. Later, I was taken away and brought here. I have been in that cage for almost 5 days. Luckily, it rains often and I was able to at least drink rain water. They keep trying to make me eat foul smelling food. It all smells like sulfur. I had a few trail rations at first but I have not eaten in 3 days. The bugbear would spend hours asking questions about the defenses of Saringallow. I know he was trying to restart or create another goblin war. He kept talking about this great army he would build to attack the settlements."

As she talks you look around the cave and notice it has innumerable crude paints covering its walls and ceiling. There are two metal cages, one each along the North and west wall. The west one has its door removed and it is lying on the floor.

The goblins each and small short bows, 10 arrows, dogslicers, leather armor and small buckler. Leeza has a chain shirt, mwk short sword small, short bow and 10 arrows. She also has an alchemist fire. Mezodarath has a potion of

, studded leather armor, javelin, mwk falchion, three fused rubies (79gp) and a wooden unholy symbol of Lamashtu.

The cave is relatively empty except for the cages and the cave paintings. There are some paint supplies and chalk beside the western cage. The two paths leading deeper into the stone continue for a few feet and then turn up leading to vent holes with soft light filtering down.

There are several buildings off the outer courtyard. One seems to be marked with the 3 eyed face similar to the unholy symbol the bugbear used and seems to have a strong odor of decay. This might be the strongest you have encountered.

Nixa says, "I think that is a shrine area." She points at the 10 by 10 building in the center. "The goblins would go in and emerge covered in gray and purple goo."

Zuheilen offers Nixa a biscuit and a bit of jerky from her rations and starts to look through the loot. She will take whatever she can to sell that no one else may need right now. Zuheilen, being fairly new to this destruction of others and looting is open to suggestions about useful items to hang on to. "We can start by using any items made of cold iron to destroy the slime that is tainting the place. We could also take any wood items and make a bonfire along with any other flammable materials to destroy it"

I am sure there are other things we found to help destroy it like holy water and alchemist fire
