Eynemb gets off of his knees and looks at Figg.
"I am so terribly sorry. I was just-- just so certain that my research was accurate and that the shadow army was no longer a threat. I just wanted to show my people that we were-- were safe. That we didn't need to be afraid."
He wipes the tears off of his cheeks with his sleeve, though his glasses are still splattered with tears.
"I will work twice as hard to ensure the tragedy that I almost caused never happens. I'm so sorry."

Inside are two well made darkleaf belts and a carved darkwood amulet inlaid with mother of pearl so that it resembles two fish chasing the other's tail: one darkwood with a mother of pearl eye, the other mother of pearl with a darkwood eye.
"Please, accept these gifts in thanks for your heroic aid," Farhzan says, "You went so far beyond what you were volunteered to do. Tell your Lodge that we could not be more pleased with their representatives."

Marius brings the mood down by growling angrily at Eynemb.
"This one's hubris nearly killed us all and unleashed havoc on the world. There must be consequences or the next megalomaniac to try it might be successful. I will gladly volunteer at their trial if required"
He checks on Figg and Rossby before accepting the Mayor's gifts.
"Thank you Mayor Farzhan. May your future rituals be rather less exciting!"

Upon hearing Eynemb's contrition, Rossby will finally let his guard down.
"My friend, acting alone carries great risks. We at the Pathfindwr Soceity work together. I am no scholar, but I am sure that some of my teammates - perhaps ones that aren't even here - can help you sort out what your research means. Perhaps it is a prophecy and tells of a future time when, indeed, your people are no longer in danger. But not today."
Marius and Eynemb is assured that Eynemb will receive a fair trial and you see in Eynemb's eyes that Rossby's message definitely reached him.
