Scraps the Homunculus
|
Scraps opens the oily-looking, chitinous shell on his back like a monstrous beetle and extends a pair of giant dragonfly wings and with a great buzzing noise descends down the shaft.
| GM Ultra Plus |
Through out the scenario, there are several parts that don't have maps. This particular section has no map
Thunder Bull, touching the red smear on the door that doesn't have the Pathfinder "do-not-enter" symbol, realizes its neither blood nor lubricant from the metal. Its... dye or paint. Igor, upon closer examination, releases its marker dye, an alchemical creation. It can't be washed out through mundane means, though it fades by itself after two weeks.
The door opens easily enough.
The hallway is straight, even and... extremely long. The group walks forward for several minutes. It eventually comes to a crossroads. One of the directions is blocked off by barrels with the red triangle. A white x is chalked into the ground at the intersection.

Looking at the white 'X', Kiyoko pauses a few feet outside of the intersection. "...That is the sort of thing one does with marking traps, yes?"
Avi Solrem

Avi leans down at looks at the 'X'. That... or perhaps somebody thought they would get lost and marked intersections they passed through.
Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 17
He looks around at the ground some more and points down the hallway with the red dye.
Look. There are foot prints down the hallway out of the same red dye. I believe I see enough for six different humanoids.

Tasting the ink for himself Igor declares "Ooooh. It'th ink for one of thothe--what are they called--teamwork building retreatth."
He takes another taste.
When the door opens without a creak Igor cracks out his equipment and sets to work fixing it so that it does creak in the future.

Teamwork... building...?
Avi looks confused at Igor, but quickly shakes it off.
If you'd like I can cast Web here and there. I should probably save my magic though...
Actually I can't innately. I should flip back through my scrolls...
| GM Ultra Plus |
Just to be clear (and it would be helpful I could be clear with my words, wouldn't it?) the part with the ink on the doors has no map. There is a small map in the slides for the intersection...
Unfortunately, the only person to think of looking for traps is unable to spot the trip wire. I'll need Reflex saves from everyone but Avi. Wicker screens pop from the sides of the wall, and clap together against the party.
DC 20 Reflex for Half: 1d8 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + (4, 5) = 11

Despite her caution, Kiyoko is completely caught off-guard by the trap. "...I was right," she mutters, now covered in pink dye. With a sigh, she tries to removes the worst of the dye and looks down each un-blocked corridor in turn. "Where to now?"

Igor produces a dry handkerchief from his pocket, and dabs Goran with it. Then, stuffing his hanky back into his pocket, he smiles horribly.
Thundering Bull

Thundering Bull groans as the wicker walls give him a decent bashing. "We do bad already," he says, shaking his pink head. "Look silly."
He pulls out a tiny stick. "Happy stick. Please use," he instructs, handing a wand of Cure Light Wounds to the nearest person.
Once the next direction is chosen, he lumbers onward.

The corridor is again extremely long. Whatever else you might learn, you learn that the Red Redoubt is incredibly massive underneath the surface. After about ten minutes of walking, the hallway makes a right angle. Just visible poking out from the corner is a green arm. As you come closer, the arm is connected to the body of an unmoving half-orc.
A large, padded mallet dangles from the ceiling. It is covered with green alchemical dye, as is the bashed-in face of the dead half-orc.

Pretty much what Kiyo 'thought' in the last post. She's not going to ask for someone else to heal her. If someone else does without her asking, then great. If not, oh well.
The Tian-Min samurai follows after the group, pausing as they near the dead half-orc. "Mmn. A more...rigorous 'training course' than I would have expected. Where did the cuts come from, though?"

With the wand charges previously used and the channel, we should all be in tip-top shape!
Thundering Bull nods his head with understanding and takes another look at Scraps. Tiny but mighty.
"I walk with Thrcrapth," he says, accepting Igor's offer of having the little guy walk a few steps in front of him. He rests a heavy hand on Goran as he passes him. "Thank you."

Igor's player feels a bit like Will Ferrell in a SNL Celebrity Jepordy skit.
"And your final Jepordy question is: Name a color, any color you like.... And your written answers are. Contestant One has written '3'. That's not a color. Contestant Two has written 'Boobies'. Also not a color. Contestant Three has left the slate blank having eaten their pen. Well, that's it for this edition of Celebrity Jepordy ."Igor looks the body over for spare parts. He nods in agreement with Goran.

Igor is able to piece together that the mallet is padded enough that it should have only dealt non-lethal damage. The half-orc must have already suffered from the bleeding gut wound and bled out after he was unconscious.
Thundering Bull patting down the corpse finds two finely made weapons, both clearly at least a masterwork: one a dagger, that upon closer inspection, Igor realizes is made of pure adamantine, the other a morningstar. The half-orc also has a heavy crossbow, a flask of acid, an alchemist fire, a thunderstone, two tanglefoot bag, along with a sun rod and a set of extremely fine thieves' tools.

Avi watches his teammates pick over the orc and find an array of useful items.

Earlier Igor hands Thundering Bull back the wand of what the strange alchemist guesses is a wand of lesser confusion, with thanks though Igor is not exactly sure why.

So this person was potentially an alchemist. We should hold on to this stuff.
Igor tells Scraps to fetch and the horrid little poppet begins collecting up some the gear. Scraps picks up the achemist's fire, acid, tanglefoot bag. He's actually laden with similar items.

"Are you thure? Ath you can thee I already have an aneth- an anetht- an anaththetith- a thing to knock people out with." says Igor holding up his own spiky, iron-headed bludgeon.
If no one else needs or wants them, Igor takes the magical morningstar leaving his own in its place for encumbrance sake. He takes the fine thieves' tools only if they seem better then the masterwork set he already has.

"We have stuff from dead guy," Thundering Bull states. "We go now? Find other..." He pauses to hold his fingers up at eye level. Counting out six, he counts off one of them and counts off the remaining fingers. "Five people."

”How about I stand right behind you, big guy? You go slow and I’ll peek around you to try to look for more problems,” she says as she moves forward, not quite to the front of the line, but close enough to help look around.

Avi nods to Igor and replies, offering him the morningstar.
Verily! I am sure. This one is enchanted and might provide a bit more... "oomph" if you swing it instead of your old one.
Then to Thundering Bull, he confirms. Yes, we go now. Lead the way!

The party continues walking through the corridor. They came across a half open door. Even against the red hue, blood is clearly visible on the walls, sprayed across the walls inside. Inside the room, a faint purple glow comes from an archway on the opposite wall of the entrance. Set against the eastern wall is a treasure chest surrounded by broken chains. There are several corpses in the room and a strange red and black mechanical being that is moving in a steady but sudden fashion. Its right arm is essentially just a blade. Against the southern wall of the room lies a black and red box much larger than the treasure chest.
