In the weapons stash
Jay scoops up the Ruger Thunderbolt and one of the Ingram Smartguns. Filled clips go into the two guns; Reg for the Thunderbolt, APDS for the smart gun. Two spare clips of each go into suit coat pockets. The Thunderbolt goes into the right waist pocket of his slim suit jacket. He keeps a hold on the submachine gun.
Two smoke grenades join the pistol in his right overcoat pocket. Three Off-HE eggs fall into the left.
He tries connecting his smartlink to the Ingram.
...
Raptor identifies a Walther MA-2100 Sniper Rifle, 3 Colt M-23 Assault Rifles, and Ares Alpha Combat Gun, 4 Ingram Smartguns, 2 Ingram Supermach 100s, 2 Steyr TMPs, 3 Ares Predator III, a Ruger Thunderbolt and 2 Colt Manhunters -- or, rather, one and another gun that seems a match to the one Guardian showed you earlier.
All of the weapons show some signs of having been modified and have been very well maintained.

As everyone starts to walk out with their pockets stuffed, Figment starts to chuckle, "I reckon' we'd best ask 'em if they're wantin' some help. Just showin' up seems a way to get dead."
"Good point, Figment. Onyx, you've got the phone for that. Unless anyone objects, I'm leaving a text for our patron to let them know what we're doing. It's just a small courtesy."

From an interior pocket of the overcoat he draws a palm-sized case, and from that he draws a pair of mirroed sunglasses. He unfolds the earpieces with two flicks of his wrist and slides the glasses on.
"Sweet anachronism. Are we ready to roll?"

Using your phone or the phonekercheif?
"Hope their phone isn't tapped."
Jay pulls his regular phone from an interior pocket. "I'm telling our Mr. J the story."
He texts into this phone. Gold statue gone. A film lead. SR hitting CS now. Borrowing some arms to help the bikers. Wish us luck.

As everyone takes a moment to rearm and equip, Onyx's phone chirps -- maybe 3 minutes after her call -- with a text, Scouted a group that's supposed to hit our flank. Be pretty helpful if they didn't. Sending address. We'll replace any ammo you use -- and thanks.

0nxy's nose wrinkles in distaste at the thought of wearing a corpse's helmet.
"We could always bring it as a trophy if we run into Tong, or sign of good faith with Stretch's crew. Unless someone really wants to wear it. The bike would be more use right about now. We better scoot - don't have much time."
Tilnar
It takes just under 10 minutes to ferry yourselves near the address that Stretch sent you -- an old petrol station, where the awning that once covered 8 pumps has collapsed, creating a strange, if unstable, v-shaped carport ahead of the small building and what you assume was the door into a small store, like the tiny precursor to a StufferShack. The other half of the building, with what looks to be two repair bays, seems better maintained -- and Figment points out modern security cameras over those doors.

0nyx will prep her little gel pistol and its aiming system before she moves forward.

"Hang on a sec." 0nyx concentrates for a moment, feeling her will bending the energy of another plane, then shifts her perception to the astral.
Summon another Watcher Spirit, Force 3.
Conjuring, TN 3: 6d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1, 1, 3, 2) = 14
2 successes. 2 hour life span, 5L drain.
Drain resistance, TN5: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 5, 6, 1) = 22
Splosion: 1d6 ⇒ 3
2 successes, 5 & 9, for drain resistance.
"Hello," she greets the spirit aloud. Walking over to Jay, she places a hand on his shoulder and addresses the watcher. "This is Jay. I want you to stay with him. If he tells you to bring me a message, come find me. I will be in that area." She points to the gas station. "If he is attacked, protect him unless he says to get help. If he says those words - "get help" - come find me immediately."
0nyx will look around for barriers in the astral that might prevent a watcher from reaching them.

Onyx focuses her will and traces a small circle on the ground, mentally repeating precise formulae that were driven into her head by rote and practice, until finally, she opens her eyes again. The others look at her strangely as she starts talking to empty space, until a tiny ghostly figure about 40 cm tall appears -- looking like a cross between a chubby elf and one of those big-eyed anime bois -- and holds out its tiny hand toward Jay, "Goodtameetcha."

-- and holds out its tiny hand toward Jay, "Goodtameetcha."
"Charmed, I'm sure," Jay replies evenly while taking the little creature's hand. He looks up at 0nyx, brows knit. "Thanks?"
0nyx
0nyx gives Jay a wry smile. "He's FAST. If you're in trouble, he can get to me quickly, and he's hands-free for you to operate."
"As for seeing through walls, I might have something useful in that area," 0nyx replies to Figment's question. "There's a spell for that - might work. Or I could take a stroll through the aether, if they haven't got it blocked off. I need to be closer to see them, though. Like 6 meters from the back wall to see everyone. IF they don't have protection up." She gives a little shrug, pointing to Glassman and Raptor. "Or I might be able to let one of YOU see, Grenade Guys."
Tilnar
Figment smiles, "Well, if you wanna go take a look-see, I'm sure the gang of well-armed folk standing around here with you can make sure nobody trashes your body. Hell, I'm gonna have to ask the same at some point, I'm sure, when y'all have me pluggin' into whatever."
He then shrugs, "But unless there's somethin' real weird, I'm thinkin' we go in the back -- thattaway -- rather than rush in head-on or goin' through the diner. Not much in the mood to have pieces a'roof fallin' on me."
He pauses, "But if someone sneakier'n me wants to go peek in the garage doors or set up a special delivery, I reckon that'd be a great distraction when the rest of us come in the back?"
0nyx
"I can cause a ruckus, probably knock out the cameras, too. It can be either a distraction or first strike, with you guys rushing in before they recover. I can throw some chaos into their world, or have a summoned friend do it. You still want to see who's inside first?"
0nyx
OK, so 0nyx's movement (walking) speed it 6m, her Quickness. (p. 108 of 3rd Edition guide) How big are the hexes? Can we move freely since we aren't in combat? Does Stealth (p. 95) reduce our movement rate? Then we make an open test on Stealth to see how good we are at hiding, right?
0nyx nods. "Let's go see what's happening." She begins moving towards the back of the station, crouching behind rubble to stay out of sight of any eyes - human or technological - in the place.
Stealth Open: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5) = 14
EDIT: exploding: 1d6 ⇒ 6
keep exploding?: 1d6 ⇒ 5
So that's a TN17 to spot me?
Can that be right?
Tilnar
Unless otherwise noted, maps will use 1 hex per meter. And yes, we're not in combat at the moment -- so turns are currently irrelevant (well, mostly -- start making huge amounts of noise and suddenly I might care about letting the other folk do something)
Yes. They'll need a 17 to find you -- but you'd best be somewhere you have something you can hide behind, otherwise, that was just moving quietly and anyone with eyes will see you. Stealth ain't invisibility... (This is a place where Shaman generally rock, because they can ask Nature Spirits to conceal them and their allies -- which still isn't invisibility, so much as being blended into the scenery). Also, though there may be situational modifiers that affect that -- for instance, hiding in perfect blackness doesn't tend to help against dwarves or trolls (or someone who turns on thermovision in their cybereyes)
0nyx
0nyx shrugs and whispers, "Doubtful, unless I call on a friend - and that's expensive. I need to see the place I'm putting the distraction. I can't see through walls... yet."
She opens her mouth to say something else, then thinks again. "I was going to say not to worry about me, but I certainly wouldn't want to face Mom if you died. Let's agree to both get killed if it comes to that. Easier and less painful. For us, I mean," she says softly.
