"Have to close off the blood vessels. When pressure isn't enough..." Nutar takes up a generous handful of snow, mixing in some herbs from his spell component pouch. "...constrict the blood vessels. Cold helps." He says, and firmly presses the green-stained snow into the wound.


With some quick work, they are able to stop Junan's wounds from bleeding out, though it winds up being a bit of a messy procedure. Pieces of the animal's corpse is lying all around.

Finally getting not bleeding any more, Junan gets up and away from the pile of gore he's created. "Thanks for fixing that for me you guys. I uh.. I guess charging at known dangerous creatures isn't the best idea." As he's talking he begins using the snow to wipe away whatever blood and other bits are still on him leaving piles of red snow around him.

Ok, this has stalled and needs restarting.

"We can march for another hour maybe, but then I think we would be wise to make haste slowly. The light will be going by then. Let us find a good spot and camp for the night. Oriol and Junan are both wounded and could do with some rest, and possibly running into a bunch of bandits or some fey in the dark doesn't sound the best idea to me."

I have 1 first level slot left, I spend that on Junan when we camp, and add natural healing we should be good to go tomorrow morning, barring surprises in the night.

Also I have a few CLW scrolls if we need that, as well as one open spell slot, I'll save them to see how well Casimiar rolls when we set up camp.

Nutar nods to Casimir's plan. "Hopefully our next foe is also so coated in blood they can't hide from us." Nutar says as he pokes the weasel.

"Sounds like a plan! Let's get moving."


Deciding to soldier on, the ground walks away from the large corpse, leaving it to the scavengers.

After putting some distance between them and the corpse, Nutar realizes that they are entering a part of the forest called the Somir Valley. Despite the fact that it's the part of the day that would normally be the hottest in summer, the group feels as if the temperature may actually be dropping.

They are able to find a defensible place to camp just a little ways off the path.

You made it an hour without anything else happening!

"Hmm. Cold, no matter what we do or where we go. Better stay dry, or we'll freeze. I suppose I'll have to stop putting snow in your wounds for fun."

"You were doing that for fun? That's just great! Love a good sense of humor." Junan laughs a bit at Nutar's comment before asking, "Do you guys think we're even heading in the right direction? I assume getting colder means we're getting to the source in this case."

Besides the usual setting up camp chores, and preparing dinner, Casimir casts a healing spell on Junan:

Oriol thanks Casimir as he tends to his wounds. Once that it done, he sets the recovered bear traps around the place, favoring the obvious entrance points to their camp. He makes sure to tell everyone where the traps are.

The group pitches their camp and settles down for the night with as much comfort as they can muster, given the circumstances. A fire keeps the cold mostly at bay for whomever is keeping watch, while the others bundle themselves up in the tent.

Nutar takes the first watch, and his shift passes quickly with little but the comforting flame to keep him company.

Casimir follows after him, and he is able to get in some quiet contemplation as his time passes uneventfully.

Junan takes the 3rd watch, which seems to be just as uneventful. That is, until he sees movement in the light of the fire. What would have been hidden in darkness for the rest of the party, Junan's eyes make better use of the existing light.

A small, blue-skinned creature can be seen, a look of malice on it's face as it looks at you, then surprise as it realizes that you are looking right at it.

Oriol, Nunat & Junan are up! Sorry for the wait! I oddly had a very hard time getting this written. Hopefully it turned out alright. :)

Keep in mind that medium and heavy armors can't be slept in. Junan, I'm assuming, would have put his on when he went for his watch.

Nutar rolls out of bed with an audible groan. "Really? What could you possibly think attacking a group of travelers like this!" He shouts, more annoyed than anything.

Move to stand, standard to fire bolt.

Oriol has kept a studded leather armor with him, so he can sleep in armor in case of trouble. His AC is AC: 16 (12 Tch, 14 Fl).

With the scream of rage, Oriol gets up and leaves the tent, skirting around the weird creature, drawing his sword.

Standing up and moving. Drawing weapon as part of the move.

Junan corrects himself after the odd cold blast and takes a step back from the creature. Aiming carefully, he beings his weapon down.
