Enough of this! Die, you walking steak! Carlin says as she boldly strides forward and shoots a jet of fire at the beast.
burning hands: 2d4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 + 1 = 7on phone...can someone move me so j onky hit him...+1 is havoc of society trait...+2 is solar bloodline ability
| GM Chyro |
Taizen, perhaps you would like to roll acro vs the minotaur's aoo. Withdraw makes the initial square safe, but the bull has reach.
Carlin would be at the square NE of Durm, for that cone.
Evelyn
Janira
Mugami and Durm can plan ahead, but movement a line for convenience, if possible.

Oh whoops. That should do it, though!
| GM Chyro |
Botting Evelyn.
She reloads and fires.
Bolt, into melee, partial cover: 1d20 + 3 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 4 - 2 = 10 1d8 ⇒ 1
The bolt comes a bit closer, but now it flies past the minotaur's back.
Oloch calls for a blessing from Gorum, while Taizen calls out to miraculously benign forces to help him.
Ref vs burning hands: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
The bullman dodges part of the flames.
Janira keeps up inspire, reloads and fires.
Bolt, inspire, same penalties: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 - 6 = 7 1d6 ⇒ 6
Her own shot goes wide, however.

Durm steps forward and tries his best to hurt the monster.
Dragon style active
Flurry 1, inspired, bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 14
Damage, first strike: 1d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 2 = 11
Flurry 2, inspired, bless: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Ugh - doubt those hit...
| GM Chyro |
They do, actually, thanks to both buffs. However, Master of Many Styles loses flurry. Hurray for the nonlethal it already took.
Durm quickly steps in towards the minotaur and hits him hard around the area of the lung. The minotaur groans, and with strain already upon it from the spell of Taizen, the beastman passes out.
COMBAT WON!!!
Mugami Ayara
|
Dangit, can we count Omeshi as being killed? Cause otherwise he'd still be here and there's no way to get him above negative health without 2 or 3 spells, whereas him being dead means he comes back at half health tomorrow. Either way he's not joining us until the next day.
Ayara, cowering in front of the scary big minotaur, peeks out from her hands and uncurls from her ball like position as she realizes it is down. She gives a sigh of relief and then stands up. "You know Durm for someone so quiet, you sure can pack a punch!"
Mugami Ayara
|
That might help then! Cause Ayara can only do about 1d10 with a single spell.
Durm Grimstone
|
In response to Mugami, Drum turns his head and says, "Yes. I have my moments."
Internally, though, he is trying to desperately calm his frantic mind while the adrenaline passes.
I thought maybe I lost flurry, but couldn't recall why! Thanks GM.
"Perhaps something in that bag can help?"
| GM Chyro |
Well let's see, before you need to use a spell.
Since weapon dice was err from me, 1 less d6 from the axe.
Round 3, minotaur deals dmg. 21 from axe 2-H, 9 from gore.
30 dmg total, with his con being at 13, and 11 HP to start with. He is taking a break with that much injury.
| Oloch - Iconic Warpriest |
Oloch laughs.
“Victory! Your recklessness could have killed us though. Imagine the tree would have been one of us!!!“
| GM Chyro |
Janira straightens out her outfit.
"That was exciting."
But then with one hand on her side and an index finger pointing at each of you, the image of a concerned big sister comes to mind.
"Keep in mind, recklessness can get you killed, like Oloch said.
Listening to advice or instructions of your seniors will also be a returning topic."
"Now, if you are all done, i will wait outside, and you enter the cave."
"Be careful and stay safe, alright?"
| GM Chyro |
Perception rolls please, as you journey through the caves. Also, marching order?
| Oloch - Iconic Warpriest |
Oloch moves forward.
Perception : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
| GM Chyro |
1d6 ⇒ 1
While passing through the tunnels, the group is eventually halted by Oloch stopping his pace.
Before you is a partially flooded pit. 10 feet wide by ten feet long.
10ft below is water. Nothing serious.
Durm Grimstone
|
Durm hands one end of his rope to Oloch. "Hold, please."
Then he runs at the pit and jumps over it.
Acrobatics, long jump: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Assuming he made it, Durm looks for a place to anchor the rope.
| GM Chyro |
Even better, on the other side, Durm finds a 11 ft long board/plank.
Seems sturdy enough to hold 1 person at a time.
Taizen Raizak
|
Sorry work has been busy.
As the mist dissipates from Taizen, he waves a hand over his wounds.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 Yahtzee.
Taizen looks sad at the scolding but hurries along in the cave, taking up a rear position.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

It would have been too obvious if I made it, but by Besmara salty kisses, and for the brotherhood of pirates, if such a thing exist, I salute you. Now walk the plank, landlubber, afore I keelhaul you! Arrr! Beware the sharks below! Where's me rhum?
Mugami Ayara
|
Ayara looks down at the pack at her feet and all the stuff she has to haul. She gives the very faint outline of Omeshi standing around her an annoyed glance and a rude gesture to the body of the minotaur before piling on all the equipment that Omeshi had been carrying for her. She's at least encumbered, if not heavily so. She then huffs and puffs behind the group into the caves and up to the plank.
"Not in the *huff* human-damned *puff* MOOD for *wheeze* jokes!" She then very slowly plods across the plank and keeps plowing forward, very clearly not wanting to stop.
Behind her the near invisible spirit of Omeshi floats behind her, a worried look on his face.

Actually, looking back at the boon I crossed over. Still need to roll my dice for it even though combat had ended. I have been struggling on this guy, sorry.
Confusion: 1d20 ⇒ 16
That was for the CLW which out him at 0/9.
Confusion: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Fighting off the control of his passenger once again, Taizen digs in his bags to finish healing himself.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 Wand: 49/50
The Boon expires after that third round.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 8/9 HP, Wand:48/50
---
"Mugami, let Taizen carry some of your burden. I am not a strong Tengu but I also travel light." he offers. I have 11 lbs before light encumbrance.
As the pirate jokes, Taizen lets out a few cawing laughs. "My captain would hang me from the crow's nest if I made a pirate joke!"
| GM Chyro |
Besmara surely cringes at this chain of puns.
The tunnels continue on, leading deeper beneath the Kortos Mounts until they eventually open into a large cavern. What must have once been beautifully carved reliefs and inscriptions have since weathered heavily, their features dulled and softened to the point that it is hard to distinguish what each once depicted.
A wide tunnel exits the cavern on its far side, and blue-burning torches line the passageway’s walls.
1d12 ⇒ 31d11 ⇒ 31d10 ⇒ 81d9 ⇒ 1
A variety of faded carvings adorn the walls. Yet only four are in partially recognizable condition.
A Kn. History or Kn. Religion DC 15 can identify a carving's scene and general meaning. Appraise or perception can be used, but will take a -2 penalty. If a PC understands either aquan or Azlanti, or both, they get a +2 bonus to ID the carving's, through the accompanied texts, for each language of those known.
A thief. The thief is depicted stealing a gem from a shop while whispering a prayer.
An allusion to a passage saying that larceny—though illegal—is a form of praise, for anything worth stealing is also worthy of praise for its craftsmanship.
A craftsman. The Craftsman is depicted creating shoes, pots, jewelry, and other moveable goods.
People express their ingenuity in creating new products from raw materials.
A shepher.
The Shepherd is depicted herding animals out of a crowded city to the pastures beyond.
To direct people to the tasks and places that best suit them.
An artist.
The Artist is depicted painting murals on the walls of impressive buildings.
As if giving color to a grand city, such as Absalom, to show the splendor to all who would visit.

No relevant Knowledge, but speak Aquan (+2), rolling perception (-2), final DC 15. And Besmara is ROFLing at my jokes, that's how she makes waves. ^^

Carving 4: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Evelyn studies with an expert eyes the carving, decyphering some words, and tells everyone what she understand
You can all open the spoilers, I'm getting to bed. See how Besmara blessed me, Chyro? ^^
| GM Chyro |
Poppycocks. ;)
Only bards are truly allowed to make such bad puns. It's part of the job description and spells. XD
Taizen Raizak
|
Taizen walks along with Evelyn as she points out the carvings, reading what he can in Aquan.
"Interesting finds! I wonder what significance this art has. " he says turning his head at each of the depictions. He tries to scrawl down some hasty recreations in his journal, favoring the shepherd.
Carlin Ember

Carlin studies the carvings, then gets out her paper and does a tracing of each.
They do say that art is subjective. I mean, not everyone sees things the same, correct? What might be beautiful to me might be drab and boring to someone else.
Evelyn Kellbor

Are you implying that someone could fond me "drab and boring", darling?

Ayara arrives in the room a good 4 minutes after everyone else and seeing they've stopped for a while sets down her pack, it makes the barest thump on the floor, despite how much pain it seems to cause her.

Know (religion) 4: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Ouch all the good rolls here!
She walks up to each one. "BAh, of course this is a 'religious site' good grief, do people ever stop with these false deities? Aroden was a least somewhat bearable as 'he' was 'professed' to 'encourage' humans. But seriously, we really ought to stop relying on the crutch of 'gods and goddesses' and realize that we ourselves, are quite capable of great acts and 'miracles'!"
She gives a mutter and heads over to her packs, pulling out some water and jerky, before she walks over and appreciates the works for their 'artistic value' while disparaging the fact that these were probably seen as 'divine envoys.'

Divine intervention, cave collapses.
Further in the cave, in the outer edge of a underground pond, sits a figure with its back turned towards you.
In front of him, his perspective, is a miniature city, carved out neatly. The figure is quiet, head staring at the city and a decorative carving on the wall.
Mugami Ayara
|
Divine intervention, cave collapses.
Bwahahaha! She'd deserve it!
Ayara looks down at he pack and the decides to just f it and drags the pack into the next room.
"Great and now we have a supplicant in prayer? Ugh! That's it. I'm done I'll be around the bend. Let me know when the 'praying' is done! UGH!"
She then stalks off with her pack clanking and clinking on the ground.
Taizen Raizak
|
"Is this the gillman? Perhaps I will...what is it called, parley?" Taizen says excitedly as he walks towards the figure waving his feathered arm, speaking Aquan.
"Hello Hello, my name is Taizen! It is nice to meet you. You must be very brave to be here alone...it is dangerous...I almost died!"
| GM Chyro |
The assumed gillman does not respond to the approaching Taizen. Not a sound nor movement as Taizen closes distance....
Only on short distance, facing the man's back, does Taizen confirm this must be a gillman.
Tengu curiosity prevailing, Taizen warily walks a half circle to the side of the man, who seems to be slowly saying a silent prayer.
As the mass of feathers catches the corner of his eye, his head turns.
It looks like an old aged human, but with gills.
Taizen Raizak
|
"Oh. My apologies...I did not mean to interrupt your prayer. To be so stoic even when someone is talking over your prayer! Such discipline." Taizen continues in Aquan before giving a deep apologetic bow, hoping his compliments will ease his transgression.
Headed to bed so someone else feel free to tag in talking to the gilled human! Lol.
| GM Chyro |
The gillman is at a complete loss of what Taizen is on about.
Perhaps the guy is deaf?
He has no ranks in linguistics: beak reading.
| GM Chyro |
Carlin saying so, he watches her face intently, and seems to have gotten much of what she said.
He points a finger at his ear and slowly shakes his head. Otherwise he keeps his passive demeanor.
Yes, he can read lips, if properly speaking towards his face.
Carlin Ember
|
Carlin smiles pleasantly at the gillman.
Apologies for interrupting your reflection. I am Carlin. My friends and I were sent here to document the happenings here in this cave system. Could you tell us your name and anything you know about this place, please?
Taizen Raizak
|
Taizen drops his head at the news.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
"He is deaf? It must be challenging to read my beak when I talk. WOE is me!" the tengu laments as he takes a seat, cross-legged while the others talk.
| GM Chyro |
Diplomacy check please, to get him to open up.
