DC 20 as he is indifferent atm, a few aid others should do it.
Taizen Raizak

Diplomacy (Aid): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Taizen casts guidance on himself before trying to make friendly gestures...unsure of what else he can do to communicate. He draws the word for "Friends" in Aquan in the dirt of the cave floor.

Evelyn: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Oloch: 1d20 ⇒ 3[/spoiler
Though only Durm has somewhat succeeded in the endeavor. Magumi stands waiting some distance back.
I say he is amused enough by a bird able to write aquan, circumstance bonus, you guys pass the diplomacy check.
The gillman breaks his silence.
"Greetings, strangers. I am Uori, a pilgrim, seeking the serenity of this place. What brings you here?"
Carlin Ember
|
Nice to meet you, Uori. I am Carlin. These are my friends... she points out each one and says their name.
We were sent here by our superiors to document the comings and goings around this cave system. I assume you live near here?
Taizen Raizak
|
"Carlin, please ask him about the city! And if I can get a closer look!" Taizen asks Carlin, his curiosity welling up as Uori finally speaks.
| GM Chyro |
In response to Carlin's question,
"No, i do not live nearby. I am at a pilgrimage, across the dry land towards this tranquil sanctum. Formerly dedicated to the long dead god of humans, Aroden."
Assuming Carlin passes along the question from Taizen,
"By all means, have a look."
Taizen sees a neatly miniature a large city, given Aroden's the former deity of worship here, this must be Absalom.
Taizen, Oloch, roll a divine affinity check. d20 and add your wis modifier.
You, being familiar with the feeling of divine nergy that comes from worship, feel a vibe of energy coming from within this cave. There is definitely some lingering divine energy in this place.
Divine energy.....might there still be some benefit to be had here?
With the sculptures present, you get an inspiring thought. What if you emulate, in some way, a depicted action/scene of the sculptures previously deciphered?
Reminder:
The artist made a painting. A look around reveals some colored stones.
The Craftsman made moveable goods. A simple craft DC 10 and some searching can produce something simple from found materials.
The Shepherd moved animals to a destination. There are some frogs near the pond. Handle animal check DC 11.
The Thief took a precious stone. Some searching, and you see a stone with rough features nearby.
Any of the others not asking questions, notice 2 passageways in either direction east and west.
Mugami Ayara
|
Wait, Ayara will aid if need be, I mean she is a Pathfinder after all.
Ayara takes a moment to breathe and settle her self before leaving her pack in and traipsing over to where everyone else is. "Sooo, what's taking so long? Don't tell me you guys pointlessly arguing the finer points of theology? Do you need any help?"
She pauses when she sees the gillman and then asks, "Wait you found the person we were looking for! Any ideas why he keeps coming here?"

"This place must be a holy site! These gillmen must be paying their respect to one of the divine here. Perhaps it aligns with the murals from before!?" Taizen caws with excitement, it may not be a shrine to Hei Feng but the opportunity is too good to pass up.
Thinking about the Shepherd himself, he pulls up his pant sleeves before stepping slowly into the pool. He squats down to gently usher the frogs away from the city and further into the pools.
Wild Empathy: 1d20 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 + 1 = 19
"Don't you enjoy the water a little better? Nature is better than the city, even if it is a re-creation. Let me help you."
| GM Chyro |
Wait, Ayara will aid if need be, I mean she is a Pathfinder after all.
Just following your character's behavior thus far. ;)
Taizen 'herds' the frogs scattered around the miniature city into the pond.
While to others not apparent, you get a pleasant sensation of serenity for a moment.
You get a +2 bonus to a single aid-other check made within the coming 24 hours.
| GM Chyro |
Would anyone else like to follow Taizen's example of doing something?
Otherwise pick east or west for further exploration.
| Oloch - Iconic Warpriest |
Oloch concentrates.
“I personally do not feel what our bird friend can feel! But I have a God and I want to trade here!“ and Oloch tries to connect with Gorum.
| GM Chyro |
Deific hotline. All operators are currently busy, please wait....
Oloch is puzzled of how to connect, aside from his current connection to Gorum.
Taizen getting a serene feel after performing an emulated action, could relay this to his comrades.
If he does, everyone read can read the Divine affinity spoiler (second previous post of mine) above. The Shepherd is no longer available.

"Oh...yes, I do not believe it is your Gorum either but perhaps our friend Uori can tell us more." Taizen says as he rejoins the group.
He points over to the model of the city, "I tried to emulate the murals we saw earlier as a way to pay respects...when I did I experienced a feeling of calm welling up. A blessing maybe? Would you like to try one?" he continues, sharing what came to his mind.
Feel free to open the spoiler above. Taizen is just a curious bird, lol.

There is an aspect of artistry involved with Aroden's beliefs, is there not? My religious knowledge is a bit sketchy at times...but could these painted rocks have some significance?
| GM Chyro |
Did you know people used to make paint out of liquid, egg yolk, and pigment material?
Mugami Ayara
|
I did as well. Remembered it had an odd name and had to look it up, they were called tempuras which is funny as it's now a name for fried foods.

With Uori left to his meditation, where does the group go?
East, or west?
| Oloch - Iconic Warpriest |
Oloch walks east.
“Follow me!!“
perception : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
| GM Chyro |
The group follows Oloch into the (from your perspective) eastern tunnel.
1d6 ⇒ 2
There comes the sound of running water, as you walk further.
The persistent glow of the bluish fungi dimly lights the way deeper below the Kortos Mounts. The tunnels broaden to reveal a shallow river that bisects an immense tunnel stretching to the north and south. To the east a small passage exits the chamber at a steep incline.
Up ahead, across the water, walk two kobolds.
#1 "Water good. Chief will be happy."
#2 "Yes, but still much more to search before we return."
2d20 ⇒ (20, 13) = 33
The 1st hears your footsteps and points towards Oloch, who walks up front.
They can only see Oloch at the moment, and they grab for their weapons.

Taizen seems sad that no others wish to try that hand at mimicking the murals.
"We are leaving already? I thought out mission was to talk to mister Uori? Taizen is coming!" he says hustling along to stay with the group.

"That tongue is new to me! I will have to learn it but no time...they aren't looking friendly." he says moving up into the cave, he reaches out his hand providing guidance to Oloch.
Move and Guidance on Oloch.

Evelyn swiftly moves insode the cavern and shoot at a kobold with her own crossbow. Despite a perfect aim, the bolt did little damage..
And catch that one too if you can! Of cousre, now that we don't fight the minotaur anymore, I pull a bullseye! Bad timing!
| GM Chyro |
Carlin quickly hurls acid at the kobold, which causes the little bugger to try swipe it off with his sleeve.
Evelyn hurt the other one, sending a bolt into its leg, inciting a quick yelp of discomfort.
Oloch bravely advances into the stream.
I've moved you 1 square back. The water counts as difficult terrain.
As he does, he steps onto something.
*PTOING*
Incoming projectile: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29 Dmg on hit: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Oloch finds a sharp dart sticking out of his muscular neck.

Durm heads into the cavern, while Mugami heads in to casts acid splash against red.

Non-Lethal Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Target gets -2 to attack for 1 round.

Taizen challenges himself, as a rock within the water gives the kobold cover, but he still hits. There is now indeed some downpour within the cavern, much to the surprise of the kobolds.
Cyan (-1, -2nl) flings his bullet at Durm, while Red does at Oloch.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 1d3 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

Carlin is having less success, and the kobold is spared more acid burns.
!!, the kobold now faces imposing 1/2 orc next to him.
Mugami & Durm

Been 24 hours.
Mugami launches acid splash again, after which Durm 2x moves to cross the stream.

Ayara shakes her head and snaps out of the mental funk she'd been in since the room with the city. She'd been on autopilot, but did she fire a glob of acid? She FELT like she'd done that... but then it could be her imagination.
She does look over at the little kobold collapsed in the tunnel and frowns some. "Is he alive? Should we bind him up and then let him go outside? Or just leave him alone? Kill him? I'd rather not kill him."
Thanks for the bots. Sorry for not posting for a few days, long weekend here and I didn't sit down at the computer too much.

"Well...he can't hurt us in that state. He couldn't do much when he was standing. Taizen thinks if we leave them, they will be more wary of attacking strangers in future." Taizen says unconcerned with the small creatures either way.
He enjoys the cool water for a bit before heading back to the main chamber to see Uori. He gives him a deep bow before wading back into the water again...this time searching for the colored rocks.
He uses a few to draw various swirls like waves and clouds along the depiction of the city. He steps back and views it fondly, then takes one of the precious stones for himself.
"A payment for my services."
| GM Chyro |
Durm feels the little lizard's pulse, and it is merely KO, not dead.
Taizen, the rocks are too solid, so they won't work like chalk.
The PDF is very specific about their appliance.
Does the group go further down the tunnel, then back and search the other tunnel within the sanctum? Or vice versa?

Taizen sighs as the colored rocks don't want to work for him. He waits for Oloch to return to the chamber.
"You are the strongest among us! Can you crush these into dust? I wish to continue paying respects to the pilgrims here...[smaller]Taizen tried drawing with them but it did not work...maybe a paste will." he ask the half-orc.
