The stink in this room, a mixture of fish and sweat, is enough to make the eyes water. To the east, a large wooden trough holds a hideous mound of half-rancid fish, seaweed, and brine. Filthy river water and fish blood stain the floor around this trough. A pair of wooden chutes lead from this trough through holes in the eastern wall into a larger room beyond. To the west, a desk and chair sit in one corner while a tall cabinet sits in the other.

There are five orphans in here.

"You don't want to ring that bell. Do it, and we won't be saving you, we'll be bringing you to the guard. Just calmly walk out the door past me and wait for us." He indicates the door he is talking about, while keeping an eye on each of them.

Giacomo will step into a clear shot and cast Ray of frost at Giggles.

The orphans in the red seem a bit more skeptical, but comply. The others take the advantage of the distraction with an eagerness, making a swift motion to escape the building.

"Get back here you little rats!" The half orc bellows loudly, before another talon slashes him in his face. He looks significantly worse for wear, and may collapse soon.

The ray of frost slashes into the orc, and his eyes turn a bloodshot red. He lets out another ferocious roar, as his last stand finally takes hold! Orc Ferocity kicks in.

Kip spits out the chunk of orc muttering "Nasty fish pastries taste better than that." before yelling at giggles "Put the potion down!"

From my understanding, unless he is brought to negative con, he gets one round to act with Orc Ferocity.

Vulpina casts a slow gaze over the orphans.

”Good day to you all. I am here to make a delivery to Mister Lamm. Can one of you direct me to him?” she asks.

Readied action to attack if one of them attacks me. ... which hopefully will be the halfling and not, y’know, just a random child.

Seren addresses the children, "Are you hungry? Hurt? I will take you to the temple if you want, later, get you help."

"Oh, you have come to rescue us!" A shrill voice calls out at Vuplina. Now that she can get a better look at one of the kids, she realizes it isn't a child at all, but a deranged gnome! He draws a wickedly sharp Kukri. "Attack, or I'll cut you all up to ribbons and feed you to the shark!"

The orphans, looking threatened and scared, grab pitchforks that are covered in fish guts. They look ready to attack Vulpina.

Giggles, still on his feet, drinks from the potion.

But it is not enough, and he collapses under the pressure of his wounds.

Does that count as attacking? Probably not? Regardless, she’ll shoot either as a Readied or as a Standard:

Her pistol shot goes wide and burrows into the wood.

If that was my Readied Action, Vulpina will move; if not, I’m not quite sure.

In this case, it would not constitute an attack therefore not trigger the readied action, sorry.

Giacomo's summoned eagle vanishes from existence as he turns toward the noise upstairs.

"A Shark is it now? An alligator was Lamm's pet when i was their age. Luckily I got away and now can have my revenge. They have far more to fear from attacking us than you. Just Ask Giggles. Oh wait. he's dead."

Intimidate to demoralize Hookshanks: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 hoping to cause him to be scared which may make the orphans hesitate

Vulpina will spend the remainder of her turn holstering her pistol, rapier in her free hand.

”You must hide behind children and expect me to fear you?” asks Vulpina with a cocked eyebrow.

Seeing no way in, Seren rushes round to the double doors from the outside.

Andreas moves up, sees the expected halfling. "No, you don't seem very scary. its all the knife. And knives can cut both ways!"

Hookshanks drops the Kukri out of reflex. The orphans in the green tatters are still in shock from the battle going on. They hestitantly reach for the pitchforks and hold them up. Hookshanks seems to be intimidated by Giggles' death though.

The orphans in red and orange reach for the pitchforks and raise them, uneasily. Hookshanks, having lost his armament, reaches down to pick up the Kukri again. "That was not a very nice trick! You'll pay for that!" He doesn't move forward though.

Giacomo follows the Lady in, but turns to the orphans. "Go - Scatter! Regroup when it is dark - you know the drill. We'll make sure they can't hurt any of you anymore."

Giacomo will toss a couple copper pieces on the floor near the door as additional incentive.

Seren pulls open the double doors and steps across to keep the Hookshanks blocked in, "Quick, youngsters, get out of here."

Andreas shakes his head. "Nimble fingers, there, but that won't save you for long." he says.

He casts Ray of Frost at the offensive halfling.

The orphans in green get distracted, seeing copper on the floor. They start to pick up the pieces of change before running away.

Kip mumbles up the stairs and moves closer to hookshanks, glaring at the pitchfork wielding orphan next to him.

Money has distracted the orphans attention well enough that they aren't as worried about the threats from Hookshanks. The angry gnome, no longer intimidated by the threats of the Isidore, lashes out!

Seren calls out to the last children, ”Come out this way. Stay away from the crazy man, Giacomo will let you pass.”
