Flushed and a little disheveled following the unaccustomed street work, Saeron considers the potential intel the group's investigations have uncovered.

"I'm hardly a tactical strategist," she says. "but it seems to me that having advanced knowledge of where and what await us would be invaluable." She glances at the time display on her comm unit. "Especially in light of a rapidly approaching deadline."

Aravon comes back angry. He was supposed to be faster and aid his team on this planet rather than slow them down.

"I agree with you Saeron, knowing where they are and the lay of the land seems crucial to me. On top of that you all seem so competent that we should not need an aid with the doors."

Eleazar hears what Saeron says and shrugs. "Saeron, your planning seems sound. I have no major voice in this however, as you all 'brainiacs' have spent time looking more into this while on the computer...you pick on what you will need."

I do like the point system, and wish I could vote. But having ran this a couple times, and played it at least once or twice I will keep my trap shut. :-)

Tapping her chin, the teen thought out loud. "Like totes. But I like wonder what her team looks like, it'd be handy to have in advance some time to get, like, countermeasures prepped." She smiled an almost sweet smile as she thought of the destruction one could cause with missiles.

1 - Floor Plan:
You find the building's floor plan and notes from its original occupant as to what each room was (and maybe still is) -

A Night in Nightarch (SFS) Maps are now live!

A 10-foot-high chain-link fence surrounds the building, with 20 feet of space between the fence and the building, with parking for vehicles on the west side of the building. There are two sets of doors, and several green windows that are opaque from the outside.

Building layout:
A1 - Front entrance (stairs lead up 10 feet above the parking lot)
A2 - Lobby
A3 - Office space
A4 - Control room
A5 - Private offices (5a through 5e)
A6 - Workshop
A7 - Storage
A8 - Meeting room
A9 - Laboratory
A10 - Freight elevator and loading dock (leading to auxiliary parking lot)
A11 - Restrooms

You also learn that there is a subterranean warehouse ~100 feet below this structure, but its plans were never uploaded to the infosphere. The elevator is the only marked point of ingress or egress.

The interior walls of the offices are made of composite plating of varying shades of gray. The ceiling is slightly arched in each room, with an average height of 15 feet. Each door is made of a dark steel alloy and consists of several plates which slide open in a spiraling pattern.

All windows in the building are made of green polymer that is opaque from the outside but transparent from the inside. If these windows are opened from the inside, snipers or observers could see or fire at targets within.

Each room has light-emitting devices in the ceiling, which can be controlled locally through a control panel in each room or centrally from the control room (area A4). The default light setting is dim light; while drow have darkvision, they prefer dim light to total darkness so they can distinguish color.

2 - Guard Posts:
Recent surveillance footage from a spy drone arranged by Ceobarn on your behalf shows that there is usually one guard stationed at the main entrance of the offices (A1) at almost every hour of the day, rotating in shifts. Snipers or other silent killers might be able to dispatch this guard without triggering an alarm. This intel also reveals several good potential sniper nests between approximately 120 feet from the main entrance. (This is also a reminder that you have one of Ceobarn's snipers available to you)

Heat signatures indicate that four drow, likely Villyth's closest known associates: Beidnach, Ellandail, Malindeil, and Raimsael; are in the building.

When not on guard duty, Beidnach (the sys admin) is located in the control room (A4).

When not on guard duty, Malindeil (Villyth's lieutenant) is located in his office (A5d).

When not on guard duty, Raimsael (the weaponsmith) is located in thw workshop (A6).

When not on guard duty, Ellandail (the logistics manager) is located in the meeting room (A8).

3 - Troop Composition:
Hacked payroll records you obtain reveals that Villyth usually has an entourage of about half a dozen lower-ranking drow. You also learn that a few weeks ago, her lieutenant, Malindeil, bought more than a dozen half-orc mercenaries. These mercenaries have received some basic training, but Villyth has already killed a few of them out of frustration, recorded by Malindeil as "unsatisfactory attention to detail" in the employee records he seems to enjoy keeping.

This is all the information you can gather after using 22.75 of your 24-hours of diplomatic immunity. You are fully rested, and are sitting in your ATV. You know it will take 20 minutes to drive to the building and 10 to get back to the spaceport. It is now time to plan and execute your operation!

"As much as I hate using drow's aid we could use that sniper to take out the front guards. Then we can sweep through the place clockwise? What do you think?"

Looking at the place I don't have a good idea how to start exploring it.

Saeron glances at Aravon, concern clear on her face, as they uncover the details of the half-orc mercenaries' treatment at Villyth's hand.

"I'm not much of a strategist," Saeron says. "I can't propose a better plan."

"But it makes sense to deal with the sentry quickly and quietly. The further we can get inside before anyone raises the alarm, the better for us."

"If there's a way to open those windows, we might even be able to get help from the sniper."

"I'm an academic, not a fighter", Kent says. On the surface the plan seems sound and is likely not going to get our heads blown off.

"I agree with Saeron, if there is any chance of getting additional support from the sniper it would be beneficial"

Though we do have to possibly deal with orcs in there...no offence Aravon. If there are any of those...think you can sway them to our side?"

Aravon sends a message to Ceobarn to get his sniper prepared for the attack.

"Just be careful, the sniper can help us but then have an alternate plan to take us out after we are done. It wouldn't be the first time that drows does that."

I would totally do that when being Ceobarn ;) Ready to go in!

Okay, so - set up sniper plus anything else you want to do for A1, and then head on in and deal with things as you go? That works.

You call the number provided, and are contacted by Zirachaun, who quickly arrives at the place your identified to be a good sniper's nest.

After a minute or two of set-up, she calls you back. "Okay Starfinders, I'm in position and have eyes on the target. He's in heavy armor so I'm not 100% positive I'll drop him in a single shot at this range. Any of you want to take a shot from your position as well? As long as you're not too close to the building, it shouldn't raise any alarms."

GM Screen:

If anybody wants to make a ranged attack from 100ft away or more, Zirachaun believes you can do so without fear of detection. If you'd like to take a shot along with her, she'll give you a 3 second count-down once you're set, so all of you can fire at once. Feel free to make a ranged attack if you'd like to do this.

If you would rather approach the building to try and attack the guard should the sniping approach fail, please make me a stealth check.

"I should be able to get to guard quickly if the shooting fails." says through his comm unit.

He pats smiley on his neck trying to calm him down.

Eleazar hears what Zirachuan says, and nods. He will stealthily move forward, as he knows his flares are not the best at super long range.

Saeron chewed her lip. "I'm not the most accurate marksman, and that distance will affect the accuracy of my shot, but I'll add my dart to the attack," she said, almost apologetically.

She heard the sound of faint, mocking laughter in her mind and pushed it down, steadying her breathing as she prepared to take the shot at the guard.

At the end of the count...Zirachaun takes the shot. The sound of her rifle is suppressed, as is the muzzle flash. The bolt of fire strikes the drow guard lounging in front of the building, sending him reeling, but not down!

Sephia's shot misses, but the combination of Saeron shooting him while he's surprised and Eleazar's stealthy approach and well-aimed shot take him out before he can even utter a word!

As you jog over to the building, passerby in the area stop and gawk at your brazenness, whispering to themselves at what a target you're putting on yourselves!

As you check the body, you find a security key card belonging to the weaponsmith, Raimsael. He also has the following gear:
- Lashunta ringwear I armor
- Azimuth laser rifle with 4 batteries (20 charges each)
- 2x Shock grenades I
- Standard taclash

As you're checking the downed guard, Zirachaun radios in, her voice cool and professional.

"Coast looks clear - no alarms. I'll keep you covered from here until you exfil to the airport or Ceobarn tells me you're out of time. Stay on this frequency and I'll give you a head's up if I see anyone trying to sneak up behind you. My scope is no good through those windows so if you knock a few of them out I can also give you support inside. Good hunting, Starfinders."

You now have a keycard that opens locked exterior doors as well as the workshop (A6), and you open the front doors...

You are now in control - as you move into each room, I will give a description and then you can do as you'd like from there!

A2: Front Lobby
An advertisement plays on a large screen mounted on the wall opposite the entrance. A thorny blue tree planted in a large steel-gray pot stands in the center of the room, and a purple sofa has been placed below green-tinged windows on the south end of the spacious lobby entrance.

The screen plays a sequence of three advertisements on an infinite loop. The advertisements are narrated in Drow, but Common subtitles are included.

The first advertisement shows drow marksmen shooting sniper rifles, large-caliber handguns, and other firearms, ending with the slogan “Guns, guns, GUNS!” on the screen.

The second advertisement features a female drow squeezing the head of a male half-orc with a fleshwarped hand while her other hand gives a thumbs up to the screen. The screen fades to black, and a second later, there is a sound reminiscent of a bursting watermelon, and red spatters form the words “Invest in yourself—Fleshwarps!”

In the third advertisement, a charismatic undead elebrian—the infamous host Zo!—talks while a side window showcases a squad of orc mercenaries crawling under laser beams, scaling a wall, sneaking into a guarded building, and opening fire on unseen targets. In each scene, a few of the half-orcs die, until only one remains. When the screen fades to black, a muffled scream can be heard in the background, suggesting
that the last orc, too, died.

DC 15 Culture Check:
The products presented in the advertisements are manufactured or supplied by three well-known drow houses: House Zeizerer, House Cyrocaust, and House Arabani, respectively.

DC 20 Life Science Check:
You recognize the nearby tree as a blue willow, a Castrovelian tree whose sedative poison makes its victims easier to persuade. Anyone touching the tree is subjected to poison. Small and medium creatures can pass next to the tree without brushing against it, but large creatures cannot avoid it unless they avoid entering its squares on the map.

Aravon rides on smiley and is the first alien to check the dead guard body.
He walks after Sephia with his mount following after.

With simple grunt he stops Smiley from checking the tree. He watches the ads

As the group enters the lobby, Saeron inspects the room.

The advertisements catch her attention. The lashunta stiffens and looks away as Xo! appears on the screen.

Saeron nods in agreement with Aravon's assessment, placing her hand on his shoulder in support. Unfamiliar with the Blue Willow, she moves closer for a better view, but ensures she keeps a safe distance to avoid contact.

On the alert, she follows Aravon into the next room.

Kent is momentarily distracted by the advertisements in the entry hall, he always was a sucker for Zo's brand of kitsch.

Kent follows taking up the rear going into the next chamber, he momentarily fiddles with his prepared syringes wondering if he chose the right mix for the task at hand.

A3: Open Concept Office
The desks and computers in this large, open-plan office are covered in a faint layer of dust. The green windows look out into the street, clear on this side but opaque in the other direction, allowing those within to see out but not the other way around.

DC 20 Survival Check:

It does not appear that these computers or desks have been used in weeks, maybe months.

The doors to the server room (A4) and the offices (A5) are closed, locked, and quiet, requiring special key-card access. Alternatively, an engineering/computers check could hack each panel, or Athletics checks could kick them in.

I forgot, your key card also has access for A5e, but not the other A5 offices. My bad.

I've added Smiley image to the map (replacing the otherwise beautiful green circle). And larger image and stats to the slides (slide 4). I think there is a typo there as it says that Yasakaja are large but take 5 ft space :| It does not really add up, so I stayed with the assumption of taking 10 ft square, but no reach.

Aravon walks into the room Smiley following him. He carries a large shield in one hand leaving the other empty for opening doors and such.

Survival, DC20: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 I think 20 passes DC20 ;)

"Those desks look like they were not used for a long time. We could break the windows allowing the sniper to have some visibility into the building."

The half-orc looks around the room.

"The server room now? Anyone is skilled at lock picking?"

Can we do it without much noise? Can they be opened for example?

I would allow an Engineering or Stealth check. They aren't designed to be opened at all, so Engineering to quietly extract them, or Stealth to cover them with something sound-absorbent and break them out.

Saeron follows Aravon into the open office space. Looking around at the furniture, she nods in agreement with the half-orc's assessment.

"Accessing the server room is a great idea. If we can bypass their security, we may be able to learn a little more about what we face ahead. Or at least make it easier for ourselves."

She walks over to the access panel and takes a look. She shakes her head almost immediately, "This is beyond anything I've ever seen before."

Aravon waits for his allies to work on the lock when he attempts to break silently a window

Stealth to break the windows: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

He covered it with some material and smacks it with his shield. It was not stealthy at all.

"Sorry for that."

After he fails with one window he would not brake more. I marked with X which one would be the first. After the lock would be opened he would walk to open the doors. When it comes to Smiley if the furniture are in the way he would climb the wall and walk like that.

Sephia isn't able to get the lock open - it seems to be a surprisingly high-quality lock. Meanwhile, Aravon tries to muffle the sound of him breaking a window but miscalculates a bit.

As Sephia is finishing her attempt, the door in front of her suddenly opens, an armored drow standing there, looking at all of you, with a clear what the hell? expression on his face!

Saeron's shot goes a bit wide!

Sephia is unable to roll past the drow sysadmin, but her spell lands on target. The drow convulses as her microbots rip through his body, compounding the sniper rifle's damage and killing him!

Immediately afterwards, another drow (green/Malindeil) opens the door from the inner offices, weapons in-hand!

Aravon reacts quickly, advancing and scoring a critical hit on the drow lieutenant, killing him!

Moments later, a third drow (yellow/Ellandail) opens the door to the lobby, visible to Kent and Eleazar!

Eleazar--keeping watch on the other door as most of the rest of the group goes for the server room. He knows he has no business in there, so lets the computer nerds go first.

As he contemplates if the tree would poison him--he is curios on many such matters--the door opens. Looking at the drow coming through the door, he shrugs his shoulders.

"Should have went for that coffee break...."

And zaps the guard with his energy

So, free action: photon attune. Move equivalent action: activate flare. Standard action, shoot drow coming through the door.

Over your comms, you hear. "Great hit, Aravon. Shifting position for a better angle." Then a moment later, another shot through the window.

The drow draws a bead on Eleazar and fires into the undead, who just shrugs off the hit, though obviously he was damaged. Though Eleazar wonders if it would have been Kent if Kent hadn't used him as cover.....

Seeing that the drow moves behind cover of the door, Eleazar knows what he has to do. Moving forward, the bone blade slides out of his left hand. Realizing that the rest of the group except Aravon are more ranged, Eleazar just strides in, not trying to dodge the attack of opportunity coming at him. Moving past the drow, he attacks.

Bone Blade: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage Slashing: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 = 11

And whiffs so bad, he is glad that nobody but the drow could see that.....
