Moving a bit to the southwest, you notice a dark spot on the floor, an opening to the right, and a closed door to the left. Tingles run up the doctor’s spine as the spot comes into view, but Faust is feeling confident that it is not a danger. Getting a bit closer, you do notice marking on the walls that seem to suddenly cut off. A barely perceptible crack runs from floor to ceiling where the chalk ends.

Dr. Hu R. Yu |

"Something around here is giving me an uneasy feeling. Let's be doubly cautious." the doctor proceeds, expecting foul play at any moment.

Behset will chirp up as the walls settle Delightful. Wells marks seem less useful now. We knows people usin this place so der must be a way to navigate. I second da slow an steady option. Maybes we change our marks too, from arrows to matched symbols. Might help know whats connected to wha ifn not where we's are? Also with how fast walls apparently change we needs to stick real close like. Behset will reconvene with the party for fear of being separated and also recall Khasia. With the bird like mote of flame in hand Behset has an idea and begins looking around the room for any arcane signs or sigils that might be preventing teleportation. Arcana +T13, Cognitive Crossover Ocultism +M17

GM Roxtar |

Outside of the dormant, dark spot on the floor, Behset sees no other arcane markers in this area

Faust Hawkins |

Yes I agree with changing the symbols. Did you want to take care of that job Behset. Then I will focus on moving slow and steady in case of traps and Tensei and Doc will keep an eye out for enemies.

Behest will nod at Faust while coaxing Khasia from her sleeve.
She will send the bird to the far end of the room and then will use recall familiar to see if Khasia can teleport back.
She will ask the party to feel for seams and then will put a sigil with a number by each seam, 1 being where we can in. She will note the combination on a scroll.

![]() |

If Khasia was able to blip back to Behset, she will send the bird back the way they came, to the first room.
With the seams marked with a number and sigil, Behset will make ready to move forward and cast detect magic. She votes to move through the door to the north.

GM Roxtar |

Nothing seems to block the familiar in their movement, but Behset gets an uncomfortable sensation of feedback from the bird after they teleport.
Moving closer to the eastern room, Faust stumbles forward and puts a hand up to stop the group from entering. Pulling out his delicate tools, he manages to sever a nearly imperceptible line. Checking the northern door, all seems safe enough. Opening it reveals a very small room and another door. The second door refuses to open.
perception checks from anyone interested

GM Roxtar |

The doctor examines the doors and notices that it appears to create an airlock type system. While one door is open, the other cannot be opened. The chamber itself is only big enough for a single creature to be in at a time, unless two wanted to get very cozy with each other.

![]() |

Behest will frown and recall Khasia to her shoulder. Best not push that
Looking at the small room, Behest will shrug and move forward. [/B] I don't think we have a good way around this, so forward? [/B]

GM Roxtar |

Tensei moves up, uncomfortably close to the strix as the outer door closes to seal them both in. As the latch clicks into place, a faint grinding sound can be heard and the inner door slowly opens revealing a new chamber. A six-inch-tall bronze dais on the floor in the middle of this otherwise empty room supports a polished column of black marble. The black stone seems to be vibrating softly, filling the air with a faint hum.

Tensei Ocinson |

Tensei will sheath his sword on his back and fight back the tears in his eyes as he wipes his eyes. Then will go look at the source of the hum.

GM Roxtar |

As the doctor and Hu pull at the outer door, the big orc feeling a moment of respite looks at the black, marble pillar in the room, assuming it to be the source of the strange hum.

GM Roxtar |

With the room looking at least moderately safe from dangers, Tensei clicks the door shut. After the chambers cycle, Hu and Faust are able to enter and notice the humming pretty quickly as well.
for anyone that wishes, I’d take an occultism check to try to identify the big rock

GM Roxtar |

did anyone have anything further for this room or want to attempt the occultism check?

GM Roxtar |

this stone would be capable of casting the heightened version of restoration, so it can also remove the drained condition

Faust Hawkins |

After hearing Behsets explanation and trusting her. He will slowly and a bit hesitantly reach out and touch it.

GM Roxtar |

A soft blue glow outlines the furry paw as it presses against the stone. Warmth begins to spread through Faust from his fingertips and washes away some of his ailments.
reducing Drained from 2 down to 1, you would regain some of your max hp, but the missing health is still missing at the moment

Faust Hawkins |

Oh wow that feels amazing, I already feel alot better but still not 100%. Would you guys be ok with me touching the stone 1 more time?

![]() |

Behset is struck with curiosity why such a structure exists in this otherwise bleak environment. She suspects that the calming effect was used to keep prisoners docile. Perception +8t

GM Roxtar |

Faust touches the stone again and feels the same warmth as before, washing away the last of his conditions, though everyone can see that the light was much dimmer this time around.

GM Roxtar |

anyone else wanting to give the stone a touch? By the reaction, it looks like it might have enough for one more use. Also, did you guys want to take a rest or heal here, since it does seem pretty secure now that you’re inside.

GM Roxtar |

As the doctor works on healing the injured catfolk, you all hear a faint grinding sound.

Dr. Hu R. Yu |

The doctor treats Faust's wounds.
Going for DC 20. Because even though I have a +19 and could go for DC 30, that would require me to roll at least an 11 which is almost impossible for me.
Medicine: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (5) + 19 = 24
Ha! F~#*ing RNG. Called it. Now let's see if I can get 18 from 2d8+10. Probably not.
Healing: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (2, 3) + 10 = 15
Of course I'd roll below average.
The doctor, unhappy with her results, waits 10 minutes and tries again.
Medicine: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (1) + 19 = 20
[Ooc] OMG... that's still a success. But damn. I have a +19 but have to stay at DC 20 to avoid this exact problem.
Im just not myself today. Let me try again.
Medicine: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23
Healing: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (4, 8) + 10 = 22

GM Roxtar |

As the doctor wraps up their medical work, Behset also touches the stone. The blue glow this time is much dimmer, but its restorative properties flow through the strix, leaving her feeling slightly recharged. As the magic ends, so too does the glow from the stone, though the hum still fills the chamber.
assuming you all are done in this room for now
Taking turns cycling through the airlock, the group finds that the path to the west looks slightly different now, while to the south, the closed door looks much the same.

GM Roxtar |

The group moves to the western corridor and approaches the room. Four alcoves in the walls of this room contain floating spheres of mist, each hovering three feet off the ground. Each sphere is one foot in diameter and of a different color—black, white, green, and gold. Just north of the strange floating spheres, two levers protrude from opposite walls.
Faust gives a quick look around and determines the room to be safe. Meanwhile Behset chanting quietly picks up on the magic surrounding the spheres as the strongest magic in the area.
bit tricky here as the change from 1E to 2E altered the magic a little bit, but I would guess it to be roughly between Rank 7 or 8

![]() |

Behest will stare curiously at the orbs, searching for any sign of purpose to the strong magic. She is wary of touching the mist due to the strength of the magic. If she cannot ascertain anything without manipulation she will cast protect companion and direct Khasia to act as her hands.

Pursing her lips, Behset will rifle through her bag and take out a bit of junk, probably an owl pellet or bundle of old herbs, then through it at the golden orb, aiming for where she saw the hole, hoping it will pass through.
