I've seen some posts insisting that Truestrike can be used for special maneuvers (grapple, trip, etc.), and others saying it cannot because a CMB roll is not an attack roll. Can anyone point to a clarification of this? I cannot find anything in the Pathfinder FAQ's, nor much here on the message boards.
Thanks.

When you attempt to perform a combat maneuver, make an attack roll and add your CMB in place of your normal attack bonus. Add any bonuses you currently have on attack rolls due to spells, feats, and other effects. These bonuses must be applicable to the weapon or attack used to perform the maneuver. The DC of this maneuver is your target's Combat Maneuver Defense. Combat maneuvers are attack rolls, so you must roll for concealment and take any other penalties that would normally apply to an attack roll.
You gain temporary, intuitive insight into the immediate future during your next attack. Your next single attack roll (if it is made before the end of the next round) gains a +20 insight bonus. Additionally, you are not affected by the miss chance that applies to attackers trying to strike a concealed target.

Sorry to high jack the thread but i have a question about truestrike and ill keep it with the spirit of the topic.
can u miss with truestrike? I have 2 players arguing about this. One thinks that using truestrike against "cmb" results in an automatic maneuver while the other player is saying that truestrike is just adding a "20" to the roll, not just being a natural 20. Ex. Player 1 says truestrike works by no rolling and being an automatic 20 while player 2 is saying u roll and then add 20 to ur total and he points to the mythic version as it continues to let the player gain lower numbers on multiple attacks.
Which is right because i havent had truestrike come up in my games yet.
