Inspired by Landitho's fearsome violin score, Zenobia lashes out with her flickmace and strikes the bandit in the center of his chest. The force of the blow stops his heard, and he falls to the ground.

"Ah! Thank you for saving us from those bandits!" Li Po effuses. "We thought they'd be hunting us all the way back to Sakakabe. Our problem with the bandits--and, um, getting lost--started when we started receiving messages from a kami trapped within an amulet shortly before we arrived in Basaru."

Ti Lan continues, "The messages were vague and sometimes hard to understand, but we gathered that it was trapped inside the amulet and something dark was hunting it. We also felt that its ward was near, and so we set out to help the spirit in need. The spirit convinced us to take what we believed to be a minor detour."

"Yes," rejoins Li Po. "A very long and not so minor detour, it turned out. We were attacked by the bandits and sometime during their first assault, the omamori amulet with the kami inside was stolen. Since then, fending off the bandit's attacks as best we could, but the path has been rough and the wagons have suffered for it. We tried to make our way back to the Spirit Road, but we keep getting turned around. We've even seen the thief in the distance carrying the back that contained the amulet, but he always escaped. Based on all this, we suspect the spirits have been leading us toward the thief, intending us to help the kami."

Ti Lan frowns and says, "We, Li Po and I, made the decision to help the kami, but it has only led us into danger and trouble, and these poor teamsters have suffered for it. We are all tired, hungry, and hurting. Could you do what we have failed to do and rescue the kami? Perhaps then we can escape this forest and get these civilians home."

Regarding Ti Lan and Li Po, Zenobia speaks;

"Certainly. We were sent here to make sure you all got back. That includes the hired help."

"On the way we ran into several invisible spirits that rode along a bit in our bodies, and it seems they showed us the way to you. From what I understand these kami are basically decent spirits. So if one of them needs rescue we should get on that."

Victus may have the most damage, but you have the fewest hit points left. But the nice thing about Lay On Hands is that it's a focus spell - 10 minutes of praying and I can use it again. Since it doesn't seem like we really have to absolutely run, we can take 30 minutes and get on our way fully restored.

Kang - moot point now but as a heads up the Treat Wounds cooldown is applied to the target of Treat Wounds, not the healer. So if you fail the DC you apply the 1 hour cooldown to yourself as the target being healed and no one else could treat Wounds you until that 1 hour is up. Same thing if Victus tried to treat wounds Kang first and failed -- then Kang has an hour before anyone can try to treat wounds him again.

If you would like, give me a Survival Check to track. This will have solely a mechanical effect later on in the story.

The caravan makes camp. They are finally able to relax after such a long time fending off the bandits while lost in the forest. You set out to track the thief. As you enter the forest, snow crunching softly over fallen pine needles, you notice that the plants seem to bend and shift, leading you toward someplace in particular.

You search for a few hours and follow the spirits' direction. Suddenly, an enormous gray tabby the size of a full grown man, with olive green stripes, and eight legs emerges from the solid trunk of a large conifer in front of you.

"Hello. What do we have here?" the creature purrs in flawless Taldane (Common) as it circles your group. "I am Tishoki. Who are you?"

GM Blake wrote:
You watch the kitsune continue through the forest until a white, cat-like creature with a mischievous sneer emerged from inside a nearby tree trunk—seemingly having melded into the wood— only to snatch the sack and disappear in a flash.

Gurnk tightens his grip on his few possessions. He speaks hesitantly. "Spooky kitty, the games I grew up playing aren't games you'd like. Though, maybe you like goblin songs!?"

I cannot explain why Tishoki changed color. I don't see that ability in his stat block.

The cat-like creature gives Gurnk a funny look as the goblin attempts to convey something to the rest of you that just sounds like nonsense. Tishoki's ears flick at random.

However, once the goblin begins his macabre song, Tishoki lays down in the snow, crosses his forepaws, and listens intently. His tail curls up around his side. Once Gurnk finishes, the creature rubs a paw against his eye and licks it. "Ah. That was truly beautiful," he purrs. "It brought a tear to my immortal eye." You're fairly certain the creature did not shed a tear.

He stands and wanders over to a tree. "I believe such lovely lyrics deserve a reward, don't you?" he asks and rests one paw on the trunk.

The tree trunk opens and out tumbles a brocade green silk omamori amulet--the very relic the other Pathfinders claimed held the kami that was communicating with them.

"I was keeping this out of that thief's dirty paws," Tishoki purrs. "But I think you can do at least as good of a job of that as I."

There is a crashing from deeper in the woods as an angry looking kitsune emerges from the brush followed by three feral--but normal sized--foxes. "There you are, you miserable spirit. I have been looking everywhere for you," the kitsune pants. "Give me the amulet!"

"Um. Nope," Tishoki says and disappears, leaving you with the amulet and the very angry kitsune.

The foxes charge at you, barking as ferociously as their tiny forms can muster. They are remarkably fast as they dart through the snow and pounce at their prey. Two foxes each tear a small bite out of Katerina and Zenobia. Gurnk sidesteps the fox at his leg as it snaps at him.

The kitsune stomps through the snow and then intones a primal evocation. Water sprays over the top of all of you, falling as tiny ice crystals somewhere behind you. You think he might have been aiming for Gurnk.

Landitho starts her violining. She'll start singing an ancient ballad in Osiriani

Spend Focus Point on Lingering Composition then one action on Inspire Courage

Lingering Composition: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

We are all level 1, right? Then Critical Success I believe. Inspire Courage lasts 4 rounds. Landitho and all allies in the area gain a +1 status bonus to attack rolls, damage rolls, and saves against fear effects.

Her voice echoes. Everyone might not be able to understand the words to the ballad, but they do understand the one word she says: "Stop"

Two action -> Command the Kitsune to stay in place. Will save vs DC 17.

To clarify, yellow is gone right? Still in the initiative tracker but not on the map. Also, I take that the creatures are tiny and that's why they share space to attack/

Kang makes sures that Huli stays put inside his backpack securely, just in case any of the teammates mistake his familiar for one of those other foxes.

He lays his hand on Victus weapon while summoning forth his magic to once again enchant it, then quickly flees from the heat of battle. The large bush seems a good place to hide behind.

The sorceress steps back, not enough to avoid being bloodied but enough to avoid what could have been a life threatening injury.
