Ghost Level Delve || Extinction Curse

Prism looks through the halfling's things. She is wearing hide armor and the rat hood, and she carries a staff and a +1 sickle. She also has a key that you recognize as belonging to the Thunder.

Prism grabs ahold of the sickle. "This is quite nice." She inspects it through the sunlight as it seems to give off a faint glow that reflects Prism's own colors. "She woken..upyet?"

If noone wants the sickle Prism could use it. Though if someone wants it by all means.

Not for Mukluk. All yours.

"Is she upset?!" Mukluk looks at Prism. "I don't care if she's upset, Prism. She upset me and attacked us and our friend Babbler John. We need to focus on what is important." Mukluk watches Rova's ministrations, waiting to see what happens.

Prism looks to Mukluk and points to her ear and then her eyes. "Wokenup..Woken up!" She mouths the words slowly. She looks to the others for a little help explaining it to the addled dwarf.

The Professor joins you. "So this is the one responsible for the Thunder's death, eh? I think it will be a while until she wakes up, after that fight. You all look like you could use some rest too. We'll find a safe place to keep her."

Chatted with Kate during our RL game.

Mukluk yawns, as it’s past midnight and the circus had had a long day. They’ve had to set up, sell, load, perform, and now deal with he rat lady. It’s all been too much.

And while Mukluk would like to explore all the areas where the rats were, he realizes that tomorrow, in the day’s light, would be the best time to explore.

”Listen, I know we have a few more spots to explore where the rats were, and we’ll want to check them out before too long because the rat lady might had done more damage, but also, it can wait until morning,” Mukluk yawns, having been mauled by a bear and then some. He’d been punched by a drunk and shot out of a cannon too boot.

”Yeah, let’s make sure Thunder has her locked up and get some rest. We’ll meet back tomorrow morning and look over the other spots, huh?”

Prism rubs her sore muscles as she felt a little beatup to say the least. "Yea, that might be good." She says slowly and with a yawn. "I am used to training for the act, not fighting."

She stows her weapons and gives Mukluk an odd and sympathetic look. She pats him on the back "TheProfessor..willsee..toit. Thunder is dead Mukluk." She says sadly. "Let's get a drink."

Thunder's funeral is in the morning as well correct?

Ghost Level Delve || Extinction Curse

Let's say midday for the funeral.

Rova nods.

"That would probably be fine," she says, starting to attend to her own wounds (unfortunately, the pain is bad enough that she can't do much right now). "I mean, I don't think any of it will happen, but it doesn't usually hurt to be optimistic."

She head back to Thkrull's straw, bedding down next to the elephant. Just in case it all Ends painfully, she'd rather be next to someone she cares about.

"Ah, c'mere, let me see if I can help you out there. That wound looks...uh...burny. Mind if I borrow your kit, I'll give it a go..." Mukluk borrows Rova's healer's kit if and she is willing to risk it (because there is penalty for failure), Mukluk will attempt to bandage up Rova.

No peeking, only if you agree:

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 Medicine
2d8 ⇒ (8, 1) = 9 healing

Surprisingly, Mukluk manages to use the right ointment and does not mash salt into the wound.

"There you go, lass. That's better, ain't it?"

Mukluk will then take care of Moose (feeding and tending and rubbing down) and then head for bed.

In the morning, we'll be ready for a stout breakfast and continuing to figure out the deal with the Rat Lady. He'll start with the rat trail to the forest.

F Cavern Elf Bard (maestro)/9 Hero Points: 3

Ready for morning

Niksi sleeps heavy and long, having sufficiently exhausted herself to the point that she wouldn't be kept up all night processing the day's events. She rolls herself upright and begins munching on some cereals she keeps in her quarters so other people won't see her eating. She is--shall we say--an "active" sleeper, and her unconscious turns and tosses have left her hair curled in a tangled mess.

Her dreams were as active as ever. This time, she dreamed of a wandering homeless mother and her two young children squatting in a house foreclosed on by the Bank of Abadar, only to find out the house is haunted, and the haunting takes the form of Abadarans constantly watching and pursuing her and her family from hidden corners and passages, following them even into the streets. Her sleeping mind liked to just throw fully-formed stories at her for some reason, to her amusement.

She lingers on her bed, enjoying the few quiet moments as herself before dressing up and heading out to the day. The sacrifices in the name of her art are hefty, but--at least so far--she has found the results worth it. She had spent almost two centuries alone, and she could probably manage a couple more. She had always assumed no one would be interested in partnering with a strange elf woman from underground, especially since she had not the slightest interest in men. Thankfully, her act and persona helped to ensure those feelings were mutual.

Still in a pensive mood, she finally rises and dresses and heads out to meet her Circus folks.

F HP 146, AC 27 or 28, F+18/19, R +20/21, W +16/17, Hero Pts 3 Halfling circusfolk doomsayer 10

Kate, do you want us to roll to Treat Wounds, to make sure we're all at full health here? Even if I can use Mukluk's check, I'd still be down in the morning.

Rova wakes, to her surprise.

Tending her and Thkrull's wounds -- sleeping helped, but only so much -- they break their fast and emerge, blinking at the bright sun. Another surprise.

She joins the others, ready to follow the rat tracks into the woods.

"Or maybe we should talk to the Doomspeaker first?" she suggests. "Maybe she'll tell us more about what's happening?"

Ghost Level Delve || Extinction Curse

Nah, we can handwave the Treat Wounds alongside a good night's rest.

Today, the Dwarven Throwers are making breakfast, and there is bacon, toast, bacon, fresh fruit, bacon, porridge, bacon, eggs, and more bacon. There is also tea and juice. People sit around the fire and many folks ask you questions as you arrive. The youngest Kanbali child, Odvi, is having trouble holding back some excitement as she asks, "Was there really a murderer in our tent?"

The areas that had rat tracks that you haven't explored yet are the Thunder's wagon, which you now have the key to, and the woods. The Professor put the rat lady into a storage wagon.

"Was there really a turdburglar in our tent?"

Mukluk pauses to think about why the child might be asking that particular question, and he's pretty unfamiliar with children already.

"Well, why would you think that? Are you missing some turds?" Mukluk replies. "How would you know are missing any?"

When others are ready, he will lead the party to the woods to see what can be learned there.

"And we should still try talking to the halfing first, don't you think?"

Corkas shrugs and skips after the deaf dwarf. She tosses a wink and smile to the child. "Itwill..bealright." She calls back, each bounce of her skip changes her hair to a new bright color.

The big (medium) green snake, perhaps startled by the loud ungainly tromping of the ungainly beast with the big ugly ears, hisses annoyance at the source: Mukluk. It strikes out twice:

1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 to hit;

and again...

1d20 + 11 - 5 ⇒ (4) + 11 - 5 = 10 to hit;
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 damage + poison;

The smaller snakes follows suit, slithering up to strike at 1d2 ⇒ 1 Rova:

1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 to hit;
1d8 - 3 ⇒ (4) - 3 = 1 damage + poison;

and again...

1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 8 - 4 = 15 to hit;
1d8 - 3 ⇒ (5) - 3 = 2 damage + poison.

Rova: Need DC 16 Fort or take 1d8 ⇒ 2 poison damage

Prism & Rova are up, then top of the round with Mukluk & Niksi.

"The presence of a trap here also suggests that there is an intellect at work here. Though it is of course also possible that there are strange people in these woods who enjoy putting poisonous traps out and about wherever The Lantern shines."
