Valeros Shield-Bash |

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
I am not 100% sure of my movement ranges, because I failed the save so I present two solutions depending on if the effect ends if I leave the area.
Valeros struggles forward and then bursts from the grass, tearing forward and slamming his shield into Haanar.
Shield Bash: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
I am presuming that at the end of the battle Valeros sheathed his sword in the downtime rounds. Thus he uses Stride, then Sudden Charge, using the Shield as a melee weapon as part of the Sudden Charge.
Valeros struggles with the grass, but with much cursing manages to move adjacent to Haanar.
Stride, Stride, Stride is Valeros' actions in this version.
Regardless of which action is correct, Valeros will Reactive Shield action if he is attacked or an Attack of Opprotunity, whichever is triggered first.
Shield Bash: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Pyropaki's Seelah Pre-gen |

Seelah shakes her head sadly. "It is a shame that it must come to this. I wish you would have listened."
With a cry, she calls upon the powers of her goddess, infusing herself with divine power. Her muscles newly energized; tense as if she was an arrow drawn back on a bow. And like an arrow, she released, launching herself inexorably towards their foe through the magical entanglement, sword gleaming in the light as she struck out.
Reflex save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Action 1) Cast Athletic Rush, taking my stride to get out of the affected grassy area.
Action 2) Stride to the other side to flank with Valeros, giving Hanaar -2 on AC
Action 3) Strike with Longsword
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

GM Steinkrug |

Valeros and Seelah both exhibit their training as they, while not able to totally avoid the vines, push through regardless, calling upon their strength and divine inspiration. They're able to flank Haanar and Seelah even manages to make a swipe at him with her blade, but after the efforts of crossing so much distance so quickly her aim is a bit off even though she and Valeros have the young man surrounded.
Merisiel is up!

GM Steinkrug |

Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19 Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Merisiel deftly avoids the twisting grass and weeds and darts forward. She draws her rapier and stabs at Haanar, slicing into him.
Jaws: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Jaws: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Haanar's wolf howls at this and runs at Seelah, snapping its jaws at her legs, but is unable to pierce her armor.

Round One

Kyra and Ezren are up.

Kyra Iki Masa |

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Okay, thanks to that failure (Didn't quite make it) I think Kyra has to use all 3 actions to move out. I think I moved her icon properly
Pulling through as best she can, Kyra calls out, "If possible try not to kill him, he's a lost soul, Chained by anger."

GM Steinkrug |

Ezren, you'll need to make a reflex save for your second movement to get to where you're currently at, I believe, as you'll be starting it in the entanglement area.
Area marked on map in bright green. Every round you start your turn in the area, you must make a Reflex Save vs. a DC of 21. If you fail, take a -10 penalty to your movement. If you critically fail (roll 11 or lower or a nat 1) you are immobilized for the turn. If slowed or immobilized you can spend an action to attempt to Escape to remove the effect for that turn.
Acid Splash is 30' range, so might not be able to make it close enough this turn.

GM Steinkrug |

Sorry Ezren, reviewed things kind of quickly this morning. You can make it to where you're at, but don't have enough actions left to cast the spell.
Haanar raises his hands and gouts of flame burst forth in a cone.
Valeros and Merisiel make a DC 21 Reflex Save.
Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7
Success - Take 3 damage.
Failure - Take 7 damage.
Critical Failure - Take 14 damage.
With his final action, Haanar draws his staff.

Valeros Shield-Bash |

Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Valeros flinches back from the fire, but grits his teeth and pushes through it. (HP 13/20)
"My turn now."
Deciding to go for broke, Valeros draws his sword and swings as quickly as he can, hoping to connect with his opponent more than once.
Interaction, draw sword
Swing 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25 Don't forget flanking.
Damage 1: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Swing 2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 Don't forget flanking.
Damage 2: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Like last round, Valeros will either AoO with his sword, or raise his shield in a Reactive Shielding, whichever triggers first.

GM Steinkrug |

Valeros takes the flame in the face but punishes Haanar by smashing him with his shield. He then draws his sword and slices the man deep, though his second attack goes wide.
Haanar is looking hurt, but he's still in the fight.
@Valeros, giving you the damage for the attack of opportunity with shield bash when he cast his spell earlier also. 20 damage together between the two attacks. You still have your reaction for this round.
Initiative Order
Round Two
Haanar (-27)
Valeros (-7)
Seelah
Merisiel
Wolf
Kyra
Ezren
Seelah and Merisiel are still up.

Pyropaki's Seelah Pre-gen |

Managing to stay clear of the fire, Seelah turned again to Hanaar. "Nonlethal, she says, staying out of the range of the magic fire. There's only so much nonlethal I can put to my sword."
With that, Seelah swiped both her sword and shield at the man, before putting her shield up for defense.
Action 1) Strike with Sword
Action 2) Shield Bash
Action 3) Raise Shield, +2 to AC
Side note, Hanaar's attack should have triggered my Retributive Strike, if I'm reading correctly. It doesn't specify a type of damage, so do spells count? I didn't indicate that I would do it though, so no problem if it won't go through.
Sword: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17 +1 if Bless is active still. Also, don't forget flanking.
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Shield Bash: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21+1 if Bless is active still. Also, don't forget flanking.
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Retributive Strike for this round, if it applies and comes up.
Retributive Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

GM Steinkrug |

People are still working out the best way to handle Reactions in PbP. What I've seen so far is a kind of cooperation between the player and the GM to remember them. Best practice seems to be for the player to declare ahead of time that they are going to use it if it comes up. In this case, since we are doing a demo, I'll give you the one for the spell attack. You'll have to choose who you're preventing the damage to, Valeros or Merisiel. I'll use the one you rolled, so go ahead and roll another for this upcoming round.
Bless is no longer active. It ended between combats.
Seelah punishes Haanar for blasting her companions with fire and then slices her sword at him again. She just misses him, but then follows it up with a harsh bash with her shield. Haanar looks like he's barely standing.Hit with reaction, miss with sword, hit with shield. 16 damage total.

Round Two

Merisiel
Wolf
Kyra
Ezren
Merisiel is up and still needs to make a Reflex save.

GM Steinkrug |

Botting Merisiel
Reflex: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
That's a critical failure, so since Seelah still needs to choose who she's helping with her reaction we can say Merisiel.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Attack: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (19) - 3 = 16
Merisiel stabs wildly at Haanar with her rapier, but still scorched by the flames, misses each time.
Wow, sorry about the bad rolls.
Jaws: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Jaws: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Jaws: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
Well, at least it continued with the enemy...
Hanaar's wolf continues to snap at Seelah's legs but her footwork is too fancy for the beast and it fails to close its jaws around them.

Kyra Iki Masa |

Kyra moves to protect the old sage, blocking any path to harm him but seeing Merisiel's difficulty, holds forth her hand and chants from where she is "Dawnflower aid my ally"
One action for Move, 2 for heal at range on Merisel
Heal: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

GM Steinkrug |

Kyra heals Merisiel. Ezren's spell goes wide, but Haanar takes a bit of splash damage. He drops to his knees and raises his hands. "Please. I give up."
The sage says, "Yes, please! Lay down your weapons."

Ezren
Valeros, Seelah and Merisiel are up. The party may accept his surrender. If so, Haanar looks like he's going to need some immediate medical attention.

Merisell |

Thanks for the bot, GM... :)
Her bloods still high, Merisel dances forward, her rapier poised to strike.
But, when the man surrenders, she pauses, the point of her rapier hovering in the air, ready to plunge into Haanar's chest.
She looks to the side to Kyra and the others, eyebrow raised in question...

GM Steinkrug |

Hanaar calls off his wolf and does not protest when his club is taken away. He allows his wounds to be tended to. You do what you can, hopefully it will suffice for now.
Lazino shuffles forward and takes Haanar's hand. "You must forgive me. I did what I thought was best, but perhaps I was mistaken. But now that all is out in the open, I hope we can try to move forward."
Lazino and Haanar began walking together back down the hill. Despite Lazino's words, he seems shaken and occasionally glances at Haanar with a concerned expression. Haanar continues to frown and is quiet.
The party accompanies the duo and upon returning to Salvoy, the villagers are overjoyed to see Lazino, though surprised that Haanar accompanies you. Lazino explains the young man's presence. The villagers seem to accept his explanation but keep their distance from Haanar and he remains quiet.
Lazino's granddaughter is, of course, the most happy to see him and she offers the party the gold she promises. The village throw a celebration for Lazino's safe return and invite all of you to attend. Haanar does not attend, perhaps feeling it would not be appropriate, perhaps because he is still recovering.
And with that, the demo has ended. I hope everyone enjoyed this opportunity to try out Pathfinder 2nd edition.
