"It dem thugz're the best dey can trowe atchya, you'll be jus' fine." assures Mincey.
Ready for next quest.

"The Society will definitely take care of you. We've got your back." Levylissa looks upon Ceren with a mix of admiration and a bit of sadness.
Ready for next quest as well.

Roddy stares morosely at the thugs on the ground. He's never shied away from fighting for his life, but he still feels his stomach turn whenever it happens.
He walks away from the scene with his brow furrowed and his face lost in thought, following the others to their next destination wordlessly.
Woo! Roddy may be feeling meloncholy but I'm not. I've never rolled that well with him before! That was awesome.

GMGrumpelStiltzkin |

After Ceren leaves the Starfinders continue on with no time to waste.
The station’s Armada can be seen from the shuttle’s view screen as it takes off, gleaming figures standing out against the emptiness of space. The Master of Stars immediately stands out from the rest, as layers and layers of scaffolding obscure its hull. Tiny lights flicker among the metal beams as distant figures weld plates and heat shields to the ship’s exterior. The shuttle smoothly glides closer until it reaches the starship’s docking bay, slipping through the magic field that keeps the hold pressurized with breathable atmosphere. As the shuttle doors open, a small drone flies in and pops up a holoscreen, displaying a harried-looking ratfolk.
“Finally, fresh meat!” the ysoki exclaims over the screen, sounding pleased. “Name’s Fitch—pleasantries over, time to get to work. I had some trouble earlier with the lights flickering on the ship, and now both the lights and computers have suddenly gone out on E-Deck. No idea what’s causing it, but you work this job long enough and—” Fitch’s attention flicks to something offscreen, and she shouts “Kirkath! The welding torch is not a toy! You wanna go in the toddler’s pen with the other kids?” She snorts dismissively before continuing, “Sorry, some of these little ones would cut off their own heads if I let them. Anyway, it could be some lunkhead screwed up the wiring, but that’s a pretty big system failure for a simple electrical short. I’d prefer to send in some people with combat training to scout it out, just in case someone or something is sabotaging the ship. If it’s nothing, great, get the power back on if you can. If there’s something suspicious, use your comm units to report in to me. I’ll give you the access codes, so—Selicha! If you touch that panel I will staple you to the hull!”
The screen on the drone cuts out, then flashes to display the ship’s schematics and the passwords for the computers on E-Deck.
Anyone with a comm unit can use it to continue speaking with Fitch. Unless you have something to report to Fitch, the Wayfinders’ leader is too busy to give anything more than brief responses. You can use the working lifts and maintenance tunnels to reach E-Deck. The doors on E-Deck are closed and do not automatically open without power, but since the magnetic seals on the doors are also disabled due to the power loss, you can force their way through with no roll required.
Sorry for the delay. I have a house full of sick people yet again. To add insult to injury my hot water heater went out this weekend and just now got fixed. Ahhhhhhh.

Roddy gives a small smile at the off-screen antics of the little ones. It reminds him of the ysoki kids he used to play with on Akiton as a kid. He had more ratfolk friends than human ones. "No problem, Fitch. We'll look into it."
When they reach the doors to E-Deck, he waits until everyone's ready and then slowly forces the doors open, taking a look around on the other side.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Oh yuck! That's a heck of a confluence of cruddy events. But, 'tis the season. I work at a hospital so I know just how quickly colds and flus like to spread. Our pediatric dept. in the clinic is crazy busy all winter long. XD

"I got the impression that Fitch is rather harried. Let us strive to complete this mission quickly and efficiently to keep her from worrying any more than necessary."

![]() |

"Uv course all us ysokis are harried. We're all covahed in fur!" replies Mincey.

[B]"There's no need to bother her unless we're are desperate, right?"[b] Levy offers with a shrug of her shoulders.

"There's no need to bother her unless we're are desperate, right?" Levy offers with a shrug of her shoulders.
"That's a bad attitude. You are not showing bones. I want you to say, ' We won't contact Fitch until we are victorious.'"

![]() |

Levy stiffens at the reprimand from Nalo. She glares back at the vesk, "I'm being practical here. While I would prefer that we do this on our own, I don't want to risk success over pride." She then follows OMID on his way to E-Deck.

![]() |

"Go into the arena with bad attitude and you're halfway to defeat is all. Everyone here bleeds so easy." Nalo shrugs and shoulders his pack and falls into line.
"Victory will be ours."

The Master of Stars is the largest starship in the Society’s arsenal. Even before the events of the Scoured Stars, it was the pride of the fleet. Years of neglect required an extensive retrofit during the events of the Scoured Stars incident, inadvertently saving
the flagship. The repairs are still ongoing, hampered by the lack of any senior Starfinders familiar with the ship’s myriad and esoteric systems.
E-Deck is a heavily underused section of the Master of Stars, consisting of various primary access corridors and adjoining chambers. Most side rooms are crew quarters or communal living spaces—far less important locations due to the recent shortage in personnel. The Wayfinders recently started using some of these chambers to store nonthreatening alien objects.
When you arrive E-Deck is in total darkness, making the first order of business to restore power to the lights and the cameras prior to entering the area.
You can reroute power into the local systems. This quick juryrigging only provides limited power to the section of E-Deck, but it is enough to restore moderate computer functionality
You convince Fitch to send down a mechanic.
Finally back at it. Sorry for the delay.

OMID's android eyes are not hampered by the lack of light, but some of his companions' are. So he tries to get the lights back on.
Engineering: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
He manages to get them back on to one degree or another.

"I'm sorry that I can't help with pipes and tubes and little wires. My Starfinder tech instructors did teach me how to hold very still so that my armor's comm unit light stays steady wherever you direct."

![]() |

"Now far OMId got da lights and cam'rahs woikin', maybe we should check 'wm out and see wuttz goin' on on did here E-deck." suggests Mincey.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
"Thanks for the lights, OMID. Let's see what's going on it here, shall we?"

GMGrumpelStiltzkin |

As you get the power back on most of the starship’s cameras remain off, but you can see them to reveal that there are two human children hiding in an empty storage room.
Map is updated. I’m guessing you want to go to the children, but I’d rather have you tell me or RP it out. It’s the top right room on slide 1. Go ahead and drop your tokens there and we can continue. Sorry for the delay. My wife got me a gym membership for my birthday and my kids want to swim for 2-3 hours every night. Makes for a long day.

The vesk sniffs at the dwarf's diplomacy. "Nestlings need a strong arm."
He stands at the doorway and calls, "Nestlings, come out before I slash you into mincemeat."

He stands at the doorway and calls, "Nestlings, come out before I slash you into mincemeat."
Mincey gives a glance over towards the vesk.
"Wonder how many nes'lin's dis wunnz eatin'." she whispers to the dwarf.

OMID contacts Fitch and sees if she can send someone down to take responsibility for the pair of kids.

GMGrumpelStiltzkin |

The children slowly begin to come out of hiding.
”We are Kieu Lan and Kieu Si, the daughter and son of one of the ship engineers, Kieu Kein. Our mom went missing in the Scoured Stars incident, our dad brings us onto the ship during work hours and leaves us in a specially designated children’s area.”The boy says with a scared voice.
”Don’t tell them about.” the girl is cut off.
”We stumbled upon an alien. I think it escaped from one of the storage chambers.”
”It was small and non-humanoid, but it would not respond when we talked to it. We didn’t know if it was going to hurt us. “the boy says uneasily.
”We decided to keep the alien as a pet and hid it in the adjacent room. Then the power went out. We were trapped. We couldn’t get the doors open and we got stuck here. We could not talk to anyone since we removed our communicators before sneaking in here to get the alien some food.” the boy says hysterically.
”We don’t want to get in trouble.” the girl adds in.
Hearing the communication from OMIID, Fitch adds in.
”I need you to make contact with the alien before the situation gets worse.”

Roddy nods at the kids. "You'd better get on back to Fitch and the others. We'll take care of this."
Roddy pulls out his pulsecaster and makes sure the safety's off. "Could just be a bug of some kind, but in case it's intelligent, Levy, want to try and talk it down? With the power out, it's probably freaked, whatever it is."

![]() |

Levy nods and then addresses the children, kneeling down to seem more comforting, "What can you two tell me about your new pet?"

![]() |

Nalo draws himself erect and looks around the group. "A firm hand was needed."
But he's smart enough to realize that a softer approach might yield better results now.

![]() |

"Yeah, wudda we dealin' wit'?" Mincey asks the kids.

![]() |

"We need to get these children to safety before making contact with the unknown lifeform."

![]() |

"Fitch seemed to think that finding the alien was more important. We can protect them. And nestlings must see real life. Coddling only makes them weak."

GMGrumpelStiltzkin |

You secure the children and go to find their pet alien.
This area consists of two adjoining chambers. Four large containment capsules fill the fore room, three of which hold stasis-locked objects, including a tablet, a strange curved sword, and an odd spiral of bioluminescent coral. A crack leaks fluid from the fourth capsule, which displays a foot-wide breach near the bottom. The aft room contains several desks, each hosting a deactivated computer terminal

I've seen that movie, and I am no Sigourney Weaver. I'll stick to the hallways. XD
Roddy steps up to the broken capsule and inspects it, trying to determine by the structural damage how the creature escaped.
Engineering: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Apparently he studies the capsule by licking the goo.

GMGrumpelStiltzkin |

The Starfinders go to look for the creature. Not knowing what they will find, they proceed cautiously.
You attempt to track the creature.
Upon entering the area you notice the environment is extremely cold. Ice has begun to form along the floorsDC12 acrobatics check to move more then 10 feet or you fall prone
Looking around the room you see an oddly placed trash can on the desk. Looking closer at it you sense it is very out of place.
DC16 culture, or perception check, DC18 survival check. You need 2 successful checks to find the creature. Nalo has one already has one good perception check.
The alien is cautious and wary of you. You can attempt a DC 16 Diplomacy or Sense Motive check, or use the handle animal task of the Survival skill to convey good intentions These can be used to have the alien follow you off the ship. Three of these to succeed.

![]() |

Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Survival to find creature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Did I only need one Survival check? The spoiler made me think it was a separate check but upon reading it I'm not sure. If I only needed one Survival check there, then I'll use the second check to Handle Animal.

![]() |

Survival to Handle Animal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
"Hey, little alien creature, come on out. We ain't gonna hoitcha." urges Mincey.

![]() |

"You death will be quick and painless, little alien. "
Nalo says quietly, then wheeezes several times in quick succession.
No pertinent skills. But Nalo is ready if skills fail and we reach the last refuge of the incompetent.
