Can no longer load the map; just hangs on a black screen after I log into Roll20. Yes, I know the NW section is blacked out deliberately - the UI is unresponsive and I can't move around the map.

Runt continues to hover in the background and gives more direction to Zandril (Zandril is hasted).

"Remember that goblins like to duck and those dogs are really rats and cowards at heart and tend to dart backwards!"

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

You needed 9 squares to get up to the nearest enemy, a goblin dog. I believe you have a movement of 20' so that puts you within easy striking distance next round if anything lives.

@Zherxikas: visibility is about 15' so I moved you 30' to get within range to see the thing. Note: Camil is hanging back so I had you shoot the dog threatening Lavanor.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

what was a double move? I added a single move to you last time to get in a shot with your force missile. You currently stand about 15' from all enemies. You could throw another force missile or save them as you choose but i already counted your last missile on the animals.

ok, well then we'll do that against the closest injured enemy

force missile: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Zherxikas' force missile takes the goblin down. Then without a goblin to support them, the goblin dogs give up the fight. The very wounded one (0 hp) moves north along the wall and curls up in the corner. The other runs east into the rain and darkness.

Pleased they followed his suggestion, Runt moves over to Isabella, grabs her arm, and gives her a tug in the direction of the gates.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

There is no magic to be seen. The gates open onto some sort of antechamber into the stronghold. The floor of this room is hard-packed soil, as if the builders either ran out of lumber after building the walls and roof, or as if they simply never thought about building a floor. A number of poorly preserved horse and dog heads are mounted along the eastern wall, while along the southern wall hangs a pair of large (man-sized) batlike wings tacked to the wall with daggers. Oddly, the room is lit albeit by a single torch.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

For those without map access: there are a number of doors leading out of this room. To the west are double doors, along the north wall are four different doors (west to east single door, double door, single door, single door), and at the end of a short hallway to the east is a single door. Goblin singing can be heard dully from behind the northern double door otherwise, all other doors are quiet.

"Not a good sign. But what would you expect. Probably littered with goblins like the glass factory. What do you say we start with the double doors?"

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

There are two double doors, one to the north with singing, one to the west which is quiet.

Camil glances to the north door and the sounds of singing, and the quiet door to the west. Motioning for the party to come closer, he whispersDo we want to upset the apple cart immediately?he asks as he points to the singing sounds, or should we scout around the area first? I prefer to make the entrance I believe first and see how bad it is.

He'll wait for the party to make their decision and head in whichever way they decide, motioning Zandril and Lavanor to sneak up with him.

Runt is anxious to smack a few gobs around. Besides, singing goblins is always a bad thing. Runt points at the door with the singers.

Whispering in response to Camil, "I'd rather avoid the large group for as long as possible. At least we know what's there. I say we wait as long as possible to announce our presence. I say we either check the quiet double doors to the west or the single door down the corridor to the east."

Runt trails behind Camil, though he gives him plenty of room since she has a tendency to clank as she moves, even after the upgrade to a breastplate.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Yes it is

Camil climbs to a landing and switches back. At the top he finds two goblins sleeping off what appears to be a food bender as their little stomachs look pleasantly distended.

I have moved everyone forward to keep up with the lead member while giving him space for stealth. If someone is purposefully hanging far back in a different room, please let me know.

The two goblins are dispatched quickly. They are each armed with a dog slicer, wear piecemeal leather armor and a quick search of the top reveals a bag of pickles, mostly eaten.

Through the heavy rain and during lightning flashes you can tell there is an open courtyard win the fort (C16).

The room beyond is merely a square hall with a double door on the north wall. It appears to have been used as a dump as broken items lie strewn to both sides of a walkway leading between doors.Strangely, there were torches in the front room but as you have moved further away you find no torchlight. What light sources are you using?

A note about goblin craftsmanship: it's pitiful, there are numerous leaks in the roof and the ground is hard packed dirt with a board or two covering pooling water. The gaps are large enough you can see the flashes of lightning. Note also that it is hard to hear since the rain is pounding on the ramshackle roof.
