Background:
Jangafzaar is a Dwarf from a Kelish merchant family that always felt that love escapes his grasp.
His low self-esteem made him an easy target for bullies in his community and his grumpy nature did not help to bring love nearer to his heart.
After a decade of seeking true love he found Almira, a dwarven lady from Janderhoff with whom he was supposed to have two daughters ... when Almira, Jangafzaar's true love, and his unborn children died during a raid on their caravan by petty goblins Jangafzaar was devastated for a full year.
On the anniversary of his families death ... when his love for them almost drove him to suicide a sign of the The Eternal Rose brought the memory of his family back to him! Jangafzaar truly believes that Shelyn showed him how important love is ... and how much it can be connected to loss.
From this day onward Jangafzaar promised to follow Shelyn and to do everything in his power so that those that love can continue to love - and those seeking to take away love from them are punished with all his might!
Jangafzaar now continues to work on and off as a merchant in his families employ and can be a stoic negotiator with an empathic approach. He is perceptive and understands people's motives which is important to him as a cleric and merchant.
He typically wears light armor and during battle tries to support his companions or let his summoned creatures attack.
Jangafzaar's family has deep roots in the Exchange faction of the Pathfinder Society.
Thus, the Kargar brothers Almaas, Jangafzaar, Toral and Sadaf are all members of the Pathfinder Society.

Haven't quite finished leveling up Vinnie but will try to get to it later today. Thanks for your patience.

How are we all doing? I might be a little busy tomorrow (Sparring competition), but if we are all ready I'll try to start it tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay, everyone. Since I wasn't originally expecting to play Vinnie again until after Murder's Mark, I needed a little time to figure out what kind of shaman he's going to be. He's now monk 1/shaman 1, and will be going shaman the rest of the way forward, so we've now got a divine caster.
GM, one bit of rules interpretation needed from you: he's taken the Battle Spirit, which gives this level 1 ability: "Battle Spirit (Su): A shaman surrounds herself with the spirit of battle. Allies within 30 feet of the shaman (including the shaman) receive a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and weapon damage rolls. At 8th level and 16th level, these bonuses increase by 1. The shaman can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to 3 + her Charisma modifier. These rounds do not need to be consecutive." The rules don't say anything about whether it requires an action to keep this going each round, so it requires a ruling from you (there's stuff online about asking paizo to errata this, but as far as I know they never did). If it were me GM-ing I'd say that it requires a standard action to begin, but then it's free to maintain or end (up to the limit of 3+CHA rounds per day), but it's your call. Regardless, it's not likely to see a lot of use because Vinnie's CHA is only +1, but I could see possibly using it for one or two fights per day if it's workable.

Thanks
Ready to go!

It seems a lot like inspire courage from Bard, so I'd say it works in a similar way. Standard to start, free to maintain.

Hey, Zer0darkfire, could I be slightly naughty and sell my rapier and buy a sword cane before we leave town, please?
Thankee either way.
*Edit - Nevermind. I can't afford a masterwork swordcane right now. After the adventure I will grab one.

Would have been fine with me, you're at a merchant's store right now after all.

Hey Joseph, it says in your tagline that your a fortune finder ranger. I was curious what that was because I don't really play ranger, but I noticed it says Vanara only in additional resources. Do you have a Vanara boon you're applying to Joseph for racial heritage?
Joseph Dubinsky
|
Well. That was my mistake. I foolishly didn't check the additional resources page when building the character and clearly I should of (also before I started using AoN). The archtype hasn't changed much yet (and actually hurt me in this adventure as I passed up on track) so would you rather me stick with my mistake this adventure or would you rather change it to something appropriate now?
I apologize for unintentionally cheating.
000dafi03
|
It doesn't matter that much to me and it definitely wasnt my intention to negate your character, I was just curious what the archetype did.
I'd say just stick with it for now since your character is already made.
Joseph Dubinsky
|
I liked it because I didn't see Joseph as the type to have an animal companion and the archetype got rid of the animal for a decent boost to favored terrain. Those changes don't come until level 4 so Joseph is pretty much a standard ranger (I lost tacking for a boost to climb and swim).
000dafi03

Well you have the other default option, "The first is a bond to his companions. This bond allows him to spend a move action to grant half his favored enemy bonus against a single target of the appropriate type to all allies within 30 feet who can see or hear him. This bonus lasts for a number of rounds equal to the ranger's Wisdom modifier (minimum 1). This bonus does not stack with any favored enemy bonuses possessed by his allies; they use whichever bonus is higher."
There is the Battle Scout that trades favored enemy for being able to share favored terrain bonuses.
The Cinderwalker just gains fire resistance instead of other bond options.
There is the Divine tracker that gets minor blessings from their deity instead of a bond (like a warpriest).
The Freebooter makes all flanking bonuses increase +2 for himself and his "crew".
If you don't really like the hunter's bond options, you could just do the Slayer Class. It's almost identical to ranger except it gets a more versatile version of favored enemy (studied combat) and sneak attack dice while staying full BAB. If you want to cast spells too, the Nature Fang druid has all the best features of Slayer plus full druid spellcasting, with the only downside being that you have 3/4 BAB and only 1d6 sneak attack.

Yeah, I will just need to reread them. I know that there are other options out there. The fortune finder was the one I liked most mechanically, but I am sure I can find something that I like. Thanks for gathering those options for me. We are past the 1st level rebuild so I will be unlikely to switch the class as a whole.
Jangafzaar Kargar
|
Hi. I would say this was an honest mistake and we are still with 3 xp so from my side you can rebuild.
000dafi03
|
I'm of that mind as well. If you're at exactly 3xp and haven't finished this scenario yet, I say a rebuild is totally fine. Plus your character is technically invalid so I think you should get to rebuild regardless.

Sorry guys for disappearing. This weekend got busy quickly and couldn't find the time to post. I promise to get a post up by midday tomorrow. The bright side is that from here till May I shouldn't have any problems with posting.

Hey guy! Just as an FYI- my wife went into labor today, everyone is currently healthy (but only somewhat happy at the current state of affairs). I have paternity leave set up, but I might not get to games on occasion for obvious reasons. Please feel free to bot if I am the one holding up the game.
Jangafzaar Kargar
|
OMG!!! I wish you guys all the best!!!
000dafi03

No problem, this scenario is almost over anyway. It's actually a pretty short one.
Cortland

All the best to your wife, your child and you. Being a dad is one of the best things I get to do every day.
Gorak 'The Touched'

Everyone is happy and healthy- it was a long hard day (with some unexpected excitement) but everything is wonderful now. Thank you for the well wishes!
Jangafzaar Kargar
|
Hi guys, I will be on vacation for the next 10 days so please bot me as needed.
Thanks
Vinnie Bandar
|
Congrats, Gorak! My daughter is two now and these past couple of years have been an incredible journey with her. Wishing all of you the very best!
000dafi03
|
@Jangafzaar, you should pick up Call Truce at some point. It seems pretty fitting for your character.
Jangafzaar Kargar
|
Great feat. Really fitting! Unfortunately, dumped charisma.
I imagine that Jang has an aura of sadness and self-sacrifice that just makes people uncomfortable.
I won’t be able to post regularly so please bot him if I don’t post within 12 hours of his turn.
Vinnie Bandar
|
I will be traveling Wed-Sun and will only be able to post sporadically. Please bot as needed.
000dafi03

My work schedule is wildly different from normal this week, so my posting might be spotty at times.
Jangafzaar Kargar
|
I am also still on vacation. :-) slow sounds great!
Joseph Dubinsky
|
I haven't run one yet so I can take it. The first week of May will be a bit rough because that is graduation and moving back to New York but besides that, I should be good to go.
What are we thinking of playing next?
Vinnie Bandar
|
pfstracker.net is a very handy tool for identifying scenarios that a given group can play. My handle on there is "Abraham Z." or "100198". It's easy to filter on a specific group of people by entering their handles in the filter box.
Vinnie Bandar
|
So, for example, I can easily see that there are 26 tier 1-5 scenarios that neither me nor Ietsuna have played.
Joseph Dubinsky
|
Not sure how up to date everyone's is but I put us all in a group named "PFS GM Rotation" it is #246. We should all be able to use that to filter in the future so we don't need to filter one by one.
These ones are the ones from season 7-10 that work or us:
#10-10 The Shattered Shield
#10-12 Breath of the Dragonskull
#10-16 What the Helms Hide (evergreen)
#7-22 Bid for Alabastrine
#8-14 To Seal the Shadow
#9-06 The Shores of Heaven
#9-14 Down the Verdant Path
I am willing to run ones from before season 7 if need be, I just seem to enjoy the newer ones personally.
Jangafzaar Kargar

Thanks a lot!
I am happy with any of those!
