The undead collapses under the burden of the multitude of blows and falls to the ground, the animating spirit with no strength left to remain bound.

Agon can regain one round of performance from the way this round worked out.

There isn't much left here, but there is a batch of supplies with the undead, none of it useful to it for likely a long while.

The supplies contain two potions of endure elements, three potions of cure light wounds, and a potion of remove disease. While from different sources and creators, it their results are comparable to the potions you acquired from the Sea of Light.

The terrain smooths out and contains paths fit for travel at the crater’s bottom. Uneven trails converge toward a vast unnatural cavern entrance hollowed out of the basin. Signs of once-impenetrable defenses litter the area, battered and toppled as if broken down from within.

As you approach rune-scarred defenders rise to meet you. Another short elemental of granite and earth follows behind a insect-like creature made of a prismatic crystal that reflects your light.

Sense Motive DC 18:
The crystalline creature is under the compulsion to fight. Sometime seems to be forcing it to act this way against it's own will.

Knowledge (arcana or planes) DC 18:
Both the earth elemental and the crystal creature have runes engraved onto their bodies. The crystal's runes bind the creature to the elemental lord Ayrzul and force it to do his bidding. Because of these, the crystal creature is dominated.

The runes on the earth elemental serve as a channel for Ayrzul's power. They don't control the elemental, but instead fuel the crystal creature's runes. Without these runes Ayrzul wouldn't be able to control the crystalline creature.

Knowledge (planes) DC 13 to ID Crystal Creature:
This is a earth elemental known as a crysmal. These are more dangerous variants that are imbued with various magical abilities (up to the ability to teleport), and have powerful defenses that hamper most weapons and elemental attacks. Their stinger serves as a powerful melee attack and can be launched in a devastating ranged attack.

As magical aura pours from the crysmal onto the elemental before the crystal creature moves to engage Khargrom. The elemental itself inspects it's own magical aura with pride and confidence as it looks for an opportunity to break into the combat himself.

In addition the previous knowledge, Agon is able identify that the crysmal resists physical blows from non-bludgeoning weapons and that it is largely resistant or immune to cold, fire, and electricity.

It will be difficult to attack the elemental as it is offered protection until it begins attacking. In order to directly attack (as in make an attack roll or a targeted spell at the elemental) you will need to make a DC 13 Will save or lose the action.

The bard moves around the bluff's edge and then chants a simple phrase. He points at the ground surrounding the crysmal and a large puddle of grease appears.

Grease (Reflex DC 13):
A grease spell covers a solid surface with a layer of slippery grease. Any creature in the area when the spell is cast must make a successful Reflex save or fall. A creature can walk within or through the area of grease at half normal speed with a DC 10 Acrobatics check. Failure means it can't move that round (and must then make a Reflex save or fall), while failure by 5 or more means it falls (see the Acrobatics skill for details). Creatures that do not move on their turn do not need to make this check and are not considered flat-footed.

Khargrom, it is a spell and you are able to attack the elemental.

As Khargrom moves to engage the pure elemental, the crystal creature takes a swing at the dwarf only to suddenly lose the stable ground below it. The swing goes wide as the crysmal collapses.

Seeing the magic, the earth elemental directs the crymsal to Pavo and the runes on the crystal flesh glow as the crystal creature stands and slowly navigates the grease to threaten Pavo.

The elemental postures as it swings back for an overwhelming blow on Khargrom to only have the predictable attack miss by a small margin.

Currently out on his own up against a powerful foe, Khargrom steps to the side and takes a wary whack at the elemental. Ironshanks axe glances off of the crystalline carapace. The creature makes halted movements as it stings back at the dwarf, divided between the command to fight and the desire to retreat.

The elemental swings again and again at the enemies swarming over him. It yells at the crysmal as barely stays ahead of the mounting attacks. Out of irritation for the incomprehensible Taldane being tossed about it, the elemental tries to bellow a terran roar as it belts Khargrom and regains some control over the combat.

Ignoring the pain, Khargrom steps to the side to prevent the elemental's easy escape, "enslavement against a bein's wishes is jest wrong!" He brings his warhammer down at the earth-dude.

Neither flanking nor sneak attack will work against the elemental as it has little real anatomy and doesn't have extra difficult fighting opponents on both sides.

The elemental is able to avoid most of the attacks, the sheer volume is overwhelming and Ironshanks deals a devastating blow taking out a large chunk of the elemental as the hammer blows through the body. It quickly recovers and begins crash down on the group.

The battle pushes forward as the crysmal almost connects with Ironshanks, but it is just short of breaking through the dwarven armor.

Kuti's claws almost tear the elemental down but it screams in frustration as it's pride collapses. In a desperate cry the elemental calls out in terran as he continues his desperate volley at Khargrom. The sigils glow on both creatures as the crystal creature turns from Ironshanks to tear down Kuti and gets a light hit on the animal companion.

Khargrom reels from the blows, I ain't built for this front line crap! I'm better at knocking someone over the head when they ain't lookin! He steps back, pulling a potion from his pack and downs it.

I was at -1 to start the fight. 8 more and 7 more would put me at -16. 7 back should be -9 if my maths is right.

Khargrom: You are correct on the totals. I have only been listing damage taken during each fight on the posts and haven't included any damage from prior to any given encouter.

Despite the elemental throwing off and deflecting many of the blows coming down on it, Bemmer lands a final hit that knocks the rune marked creature into the stone ground. Without anything to direct it the crystal creature staggers and skitters in a confusion. Slowly it calms as it evaluates the party and their weapons.

It moves carefully as it speaks in the elemental tongue, crystal grinding against crystal. The speech is low and fearful as it looks to the party.

Terran:
"What are you not-rocks doing? Why did you attack him, but not me? Did you want something of me? Do you want to use me like he did? I don't want to fight. My limbs have been shattered many times and I want to just rest. I want to return to caverns of delicious stones. There is only work and war here as we are forced to guard the fallen leader of wind."

You can try to make a Diplomacy check to calm it down and impress it of non-hostile intent. Speaking Terran is helpful to this, but not necessary.

It draws images on the ground, seeming to inquire what your goal here is. It draws images of wealth, rune covered tablets, along with the image of a massive creature made of swirling wind.

The dwarf breaths a quiet sigh of relief and then asks Bemmer to use Khargrom's wand on him again a couple times.

He pokes through the stone elemental body for any valuables and then looks around at the group, "we got any o' them found healing potions left? I used mine up there."

Glancing over at the drawn pictures he shrugs, "I'd go with wealth meself, but I guess a job is a job. Better find out who that whirlwind being is."
