Everyone crowds in around Walt, but only Tesswyn seems to land ablow hard enough to hurt it.
It shrieks at Tesswyn, attacking both her and Walt with two separate limbs.

Tesswyn |

Tesswyn makes sure there's nothing else hidden here, then leads the way to the double doors in the pentagram chamber. She searches them and then prepares for one of her companions to open them.

Regulus IV |

Before they leave, Regulus holds up the goblet. "Request: Identify priority object before relocating." He takes a look at it himself
Intellect?: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 8
"No result. Other inputs?"

Drot'ook |

Drot looks at the cup, thinking back to the research he did prior to this excursion.
Knowledge: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
"Hmmmmm..."

bookrat |

The bronze goblet is carved with all manner of demonic activity taking place along a dead lake bottom. An inscription is on the side written in a strange language.
Tipping the goblet to the side, it pours out water. There is no water in the goblet, but the water pours out nonetheless when it's tipped.
The water seems to wick away almost as soon as it touches the ground. It leaves behind a white-ish residue on the ground as it dries.
The water reminds everyone just how dry it is in here.
Everyone make a Strength check. Failure means you're starting to succumb to dehydration. You will have a Bane added to attack and challenge rolls. Drinking water will receive this.

bookrat |

Walter the Pious |

STR Check: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Walter suddenly feels a weakness press down upon him as the cavern rotates slowly around him. He holds his hand out to the side of the cave to steady himself.
"My, I don't know what has come over me. I suddenly feel weak and a little dizzy...and very thirsty!!"
He reaches down and gulps down the content of his canteen. The cool water seems to restore the wilting priest.

Drot'ook |

Thirst: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Drot gives Walt a helping hand.
"Are you fit to move on? I feel as though we might have a ways to go."
If Walt stabilizes then Drot will walk to the new door, standing behind Grondor. One space between.

Tesswyn |

Strength, Trickery: 1d20 + 1d6 ⇒ (8) + (4) = 12
Tesswyn licks her lips, managing to resist the effects of the dehydration for now. "Aye, we don't need you slowing us down, old man," she tells Walt.
Wary of another trap in the hallway, the rogue carefully searches as she makes her way down to the door. She's absolutely confident there are no traps here!
Perception, Trickery: 1d20 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (1) = 3
D'oh!

Charlemange |

Charles began taking shallow breaths minimize becoming dehydrated.
Strength: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
"We cannot give in just yet, Walt. We may yet be close to reaching the center of things."

Regulus IV |

Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Regulus, who doesn't drink water anyway, plods along after Tesswyn and Gronder. "This area is secure?" He looks to Tesswyn then looks at the area.
Perc: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4
If he doesn't notice any hazards, he'll proceed down the hallway.

Big Gronder |

Strength: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Gronder stalks down the hall with the others, shield up and axe ready, as he looks for threats.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

bookrat |

As Tesswyn heads down the hallway looking for traps, the floor beneath her crumbles and she falls into a sinkhole! Remaining debris from the new formed hole above her falls down on top of her.
Fall Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Debris Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Tesswyn takes 7 damage.
When all is said an done, Tesswyn is down about 5 yards.
Grondor's success will grant something else after this part is resolved.

Tesswyn |

Tesswyn shrieks as she plummets into the hole. She hits the bottom with bone-crushing force. Sobbing, she shouts for help. "I think my leg is broken!" she whimpers.

Regulus IV |

Regulus lowers the unbreakable rope to her and, once someone else is holding it to help, begins attempting to haul Tesswyn up out of the hole. "Providing immediate assistance. Will assay medical status."
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Tesswyn |

With shaky hands, Tesswyn drinks the last healing potion. Her leg still hurts, but the fractured bone is mostly healed now. "Thank you. I'm sorry I was rude to you, Walt. This was probably karma getting me back."

Walter the Pious |

"It's alright Tess. Let's see if we can't fix you up a bit."
Shared Recovery: You can use an action to heal damage equal to your healing rate. Then, choose one creature other than you that is within short range. The target also heals damage equal to its healing rate. Once you use this talent, you cannot use it again until after you complete a rest.
2 points for Walter and whatever Tess's healing rate number is for her.

Drot'ook |

Drot mind races with possible outcomes of the current adventure. He's startled at Tess' yelp and makes sure his friend is alright.
"We need'a be more careful down here... easier said thn done. Perhaps we should take the infrmation we got back to the mayor? They may be able to provide more supplies seein' as the stakes have risen regardin' the demon that we are facing."
Although he hates to suggest it, he doesn't want anyone getting killed in this dreadful pit.

Charlemange |

Charles frowned at Drot'ook's suggestion.
"No, I don't think we should give up right now. We should strike this demon down while the iron is hot."

Tesswyn |

Tesswyn can't read the Dark Tongue, so she doesn't know what the goblet says.
Tesswyn sighs with relief as Walt heals her further. "Thank you. Hate to say it, but I agree with Charles. Let's finish this."

Regulus IV |

Regulus agrees. "It is not within my objectives to turn back. Proceed. Complete objectives."
I'm not sure what to do with the goblet. Regulus has no abilities to help with such things. But he does see the clear connection between the goblet, the demon, and the drought. It's all about water and stealing it. Maybe there's something we could check at the bottom of the lake? Is there an obvious, nearby lake?

bookrat |

As a reminder to our spellcasters, you get 2 castings of *each* Rank 0 spell, and 1 casting of *each* Rank 1 spell.

Big Gronder |

"Yes. After what we've already seen down here, I am not heading back up until it's done."
Gronder looks over at Tesswyn. "Alright, then, Tess? I have a sling and some stones I'm not using, if you want 'em. To let you hang back a bit."

Tesswyn |

Tesswyn accepts the sling from Gronder. "Thank you. I'm okay for now, but I'll fall back if things get too hairy. After you."

bookrat |

Over 24 hours since we've heard from any of our casters. If they don't read the above posts, then the rest of this module may be rather challenging.
With care, you're able to bypass the pitfall. As you move forward, Grondor discovers a secret door!
You now have an option for which door to go through.

Charlemange |

Thanks for catching the spells per day, Bookrat. Also sorry for my slowed posting rate.
Charles followed after the rest of the the group as they moved down the hallway.
"We've been surprised twice now by things we didn't notice were there until it was too late. It's time I put a stop to that.
May hearts of the living beat together."
A reddish pulsating glow surrounded Charles momentarily before fading into a faint rippling aura.
Casting Life Sense. Now for the next minute, Charles detects every living creature within 5 meters.

Tesswyn |

"Let's check the secret door first."

Walter the Pious |

Walter finishing his healing of Tess and himself and watches as Charles brings the blessing of the New God to seak out life in this otherwise dead and deadly place.

Big Gronder |

Gronder looks over at Tess. "Want to help me check the door? Two heads are better than one." He inspects the secret door for surprises.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

Tesswyn |

Tesswyn inspects the door before Gronder opens it.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 1 + (4) = 12

Charlemange |

Giving a small sigh of relief, Charles spoke.
"And here I was worried we'd be running into another trap. Can't say I expected this though." he said, eyeing the chests with curiosity.
"I wonder if a demon considers the same things valuable enough to hide away." He said walking to one of the one's near the back of the room making sure to feel out anything that his spell might detect.

Drot'ook |

Drot was engrossed in the goblet and hung back before realizing the group moved ahead.
"Friends! I think you may want to hear this. I believe this old cup has something to do with our demon friends more directly then I originally thought..."
