Hi all, we're getting closer. Wanted to share some notes that should be helpful to everyone so we are all on the same page.
Discussion thread. Game runs from October 1 to November 12.
Some of you are coming from other tables I ran, whereas for some of you this is the first time I'll be running a table with you :)
Some ground expectations:
1. Pay attention to everything that the Overseer GM says. If they announce a condition of some sort, check for my follow-up post to describe what the effects of that condition are. I'll try to get those follow-ups out as soon as possible after the Overseer post.
2. Try to post at least once a day in order to keep things moving. If you are going to be unavailable for an extended period of time, please ensure that your deck handler is linked and available for other players, and provide instructions so that other players can bot your turn. I recommend putting the link in your alias Profile (put it in the Class line, and wrap it in the url tags so it turns into a link -- see "How to format your text" below the reply box for details on how to do that if you aren't sure)
3. Do not wait around for my scenario update posts, just base your turn around the most recent update plus what other players have done since then. I'll get a scenario update out once per day unless there is nothing to update. I'll have other (non-update) posts interspersed throughout the day as needs require.
4. There are no take-backs or retcons, with exception of invalid plays/turns. Use resources wisely, and keep in mind the other perks you get in Organized Play such as accessory re-rolls and die bumps.Things that make gameplay smoother:
1. If a location is shuffled, you can continue to examine or explore cards in it by rolling a die to see which card you examine/explore. No need to wait on me to post an update first with the shuffled deck.
2. When encountering a card, be very explicit in what card you are encountering. This helps other players at the same location know where you left off so they don't accidentally encounter the same cards that you just got through and have to re-do their turn.
3. Use your Notes section to describe any cards or powers that can be used to assist other players on their turns and that you are willing to use. If you post that certain cards are available for use, state what the card does as well.
4. When something impacts another player (a power that affects all characters at your location, or you're playing one of their cards), bold that thing so that it stands out.Things that make deck upgrades smoother:
1. Write a list of your 2-5 most desired deck upgrades, in order, and roll 1d1000 for each of them.
2. That will let us look through those lists and see how we can get everyone their #1 preferred upgrade without lots of times lost in back-and-forth. If people are fighting over an upgrade, the d1000 roll is used to determine who gets it (highest roll wins).Hangouts: I'd like to start a hangouts chat for this campaign if everyone is on board. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, but it typically speeds things up. Please post and let me know if you'd be interested in joining it.

I'm here!
I'll be playing Darago, the necromancer from the Wizard Class Deck. I'm hoping to add Ultimate Magic to him once he finishes the scenario he's currently in.
Question: This is my first time doing a special via PBP: How will we know when the overseer is in the process of making an announcement?
Also, I'm in favor for a hangouts. We have one for Yewstance's PluTo Table and we use it every single day. Very useful.

![]() |

Hi! I've chosen to play as Mavaro from OA2 with Ultimate Magic added to his box. He's still tier 1, but has 3 games already under his belt.
I'm also new to doing specials in general. I know this one involves interactions with other tables, so I'm interested in seeing how this will play out and if there's anything special to keep in mind while playing this event.
Looking forward to playing with you all!

Looks like everyone has at least dotted in. We can get a head-start on the first part - We need to decide what scenario to play.
Scenario A - a scenario that focuses more on consolidating Absalom’s resources and recruiting help
Scenario B - a more combat-heavy scenario
Note that if we finish the first scenario quickly enough, we would start the other scenario of these.
Also, does anyone have general questions for how play-by-post works such as the deck handler or anything like that? Feel free to ask me questions here.
Hangouts: I set up a hangouts that we can join by link. This will be used for strategy and letting someone know it's their turn. If someone opposes this, then we can move discussion back to this Discussion page.

The Overseer will be posting directly into our gameplay thread, so you'll see it there. They'll explain what the condition is and what needs to happen. If you happen to be in the middle of your turn then any new conditions would apply to anything going forward during that turn.

The FNCG Red Raven |

Greetings! I'll be playing Aric/The Red Raven using the Ultimate Intrigue deck, supplemented by Pathfinder Tales (I updated my info including society number on the spreadsheet). My character(s) is/are Tier 2, having completed Adventure 1 plus two scenarios of Adventure 2 as part of Cards Against Gnomanity. I played the special this year at GenCon, but haven't done one in pbp.
Hangouts has been invaluable to my other pbp experiences, so I'm in favor.
I'm fine starting with scenario A. Makes sense to muster our forces before diving into combat.
Looking forward to playing!

Scarab Sages would be my last choice. The other two look pretty good for me, slightly weighted towards doing Sovereign Court first.
Just so I understand, there is a typo in that listing of Safe House, right?
Safe House
At This Location: At the start of your turn, you may exchange a card to examine the top card of the location deck; then you may shuffle it.
Exchange a card with what? Is that supposed to be "recharge a card"?

Talitha by Kroll |

My choices (in order from most preferable to least) are:
Sovereign Court
Exchange
Scarab Sages.

Sovereign Court

![]() |

In order of preference:
-Scarab Sages: Darago and Mavaro are very good against both of these locations
-Exchange: Mavaro is reasonably good at acquire checks. Would not be of help with closing checks.
-Sovereign Court: Potential for lots of damage and increase in DC in something Mavaro isn't stellar at means most of the work would have to be done by Aric.

Correct, It is "recharge". I'll have to see if we've had the database updated for future posts, one of the players at that game pointed out the typo as well.

boon roll: 1d20 ⇒ 20 Unconventional Firepower
I realize this probably wasn't posted previously.
Hello! Welcome to Play By Post Gameday VII. As part of the festivities for this event, we have a few rewards you can win. After your table completes a scenario, win or lose, each participant (player and/or box runner) rolls 1d20. If your result is 1 or 20, you win. Select your reward from the list below and inform your Box Runner of your choice. We’ll make sure you get the reward sent to you.
Remember, Session 1 runs from August 13th, 2018-September 30, 2018. Your table must complete the scenario between those dates to roll for a reward. During Session II (October 1-November 12th) we’ll be running the multiple table interactive special Assault on Absalom.
Box Runners: If you have any questions about how to report, please contact me.
Have fun!

Sorry for the delay. My son got married yesterday and I'm just getting back to some kind of schedule.
I will take the Blessing 2
I will replace a spell in my deck with Remove Curse.
(Let me know if someone already claimed these. I haven't read all of the threads, yet.)

![]() |

Congratulations! I think you are all clear to take Remove Curse. Aric mentioned he wanted the Blessing 2 but that he would yield it to you if you wanted it, so I think you can keep that one as well.

AAUGHWHY's PFSACG Darago |

I'll be travelling a lot starting tomorrow throughout the weekend. I should still be able to post, but I might be a little bit slower than usual.
If my turn comes up and I'm somewhere I won't be able to post in a while, I'll say so in the Hangout and people can feel free to bot me. The text on all my cards is in my deck handler

![]() |

I'll go for the Ally 2 or Item 1:
Ally 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 629
Item 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 392
And here's my boon roll:
Boon 9-00C1: 1d20 ⇒ 13

![]() |

Forgot to mention, as this last game was the second one for Mavaro in Tier 2, he is going to take the following power feat:
"(You may also add any of that card's traits to your checks)"

Aric Fncg |

I am not particularly interested in the upgrades, so I'll pass on that (or take Item B if something needs to be recorded).
This is my 5th scenario at Tier 2, so no reward, but I will opt to tier up to 3 (hoping end up with the same number of games under my belt, just one tier up).
boon 9-00C1: 1d20 ⇒ 9

AAUGHWHY's PFSACG Darago |

I want the Spell 1. With that, I think everyone is able to get their first choice for upgrade.
Also, I'll keep Game of Afterlife in my deck.
Also also, Fox has the basic trait, so I'll put it back in my deck.
Boon Roll: 1d10 ⇒ 8

BR redeux |

This is my 5th scenario at Tier 2, so no reward, but I will opt to tier up to 3 (hoping end up with the same number of games under my belt, just one tier up).
Got you down for the Armor 2. There is this scenario and one more so that works out to you being at tier 3-2nd at the end (assuming successes on both)

AAUGHWHY's PFSACG Darago |

Good job everyone! We pulled through the scenario without dying!
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 9
For the Scenario Reward, I'll add Blessing of Master of Masters to my deck.
Card Upgrades:
Item 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 37
Item 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 171
???: 1d1000 ⇒ 73
Also, I'll keep Game of Afterlife in my deck.

Talitha by Kroll |

Boon: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Scenario Reward: Staffbearer
Card upgrades; Item 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 938
I'll keep remove curse in my deck.
For my card upgrade, I'll take another Blessing

![]() |

Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Scenario Reward: I will add the Venomous Fighting Fan +1 to my deck, replacing it with my Djinni Staff.
Card upgrade preference:
Item 1: 1d1000 ⇒ 722
Spell 2: 1d1000 ⇒ 733
As this is my third game for tier 2, I don't get any feats.
I also wanted to point out that my favored card type for this mission was Items, as usual, and that I will continue to treat Cure and Remove Curse as Items for the purpose of deck building.
Edit: Holy Crap. I actually won a boon?! I didn't even preview because I didn't think I would ever get one lol. I guess I will choose to get Unconventional Fire Power, though I don't own the Gunslinger Class deck.
