| Bartimaeus Hemlock |
Ducking the fungus, Bartimaeus heads into the next chamber, and does a double-take.
”Did we turn a circle?” He asks, then notes the skeletons. ”Oh, these are different dead goblins.”
Bartimaeus searches the corpses, goblin and skeletal, for any stolen loot.
GM Tyranius
|
Bartimaeus searches the corpses and comes up short-handed as the goblins seem as stripped of their bodies as they do of their blood. Could Drakus indeed be a vampire?
| Gorotha Spinebreaker |
Gorotha grunts. "Weaklings. Probably a good lesson though, if those goblins were building a statue of him they're obviously impressed. Let's move on. I haven't killed a vampire before and my blade hungers."
GM Tyranius
|
Ready to move on Tegan checks the remaining alcove to the south.
This roughly carved chamber looks to have once been much larger, but now the entire southern half is choked with rubble and debris. There is a small noise coming from just behind the rubble. Almost like a faint scratching sound.
| Dufek Leatherfinger Reiteg |
Dufek moves up to the rubble, "Do you think that's a trapped goblin in there? Could be someone else too I suppose."
He'll carefully shift some of the rubble to try and expose the sound. He's careful not to get trapped by falling debris though.

"Oh, no!" Tegan touches Bartimaeus' shoulder, casting Magic Weapon on Bartimaeus' weapon of choice. Then, Tegan moves into position to attack with her Starknife. (See map.)
*Magic Weapon* (Somatic Casting.) One non-magical weapon. The weapon glimmers with magic and energy. The target becomes a +1 magic weapon, gaining a +1 item bonus to attack rolls and dealing another die of damage on a hit.

Gorotha moves in and snaps her axe blade into the greenish centipede and nearly splits it in two halves. It's body only hanging together by threads of flesh.
Tegan turns Bartimaeus' weapon magical as it glows with a dull hue of light.
Dufek kicks the centipedes before they get close. the first kick smashes one against the wall, killing it instantly. his second kick finishes splitting the wounded one in half by Gorotha's axe.
The remaining centipedes swarm in.

Tegan's feeble attempt to treat the groups injuries proves futile and they decide to push onward.
The sound of dripping water echoes through this chamber. On the north side of the room, a nearly ten-foot-tall visage of a woman’s face is carved into the wall. Trickles of water run down her cheeks like tears into a foul and polluted reservoir below, which itself drains to a large pool of fetid black water on the south side of the room.
Both doors in this room are made of ancient wood. The door to the east is locked. 3 Thievery checks to open. The door to the north isn’t locked.
The chamber itself was once used by priests of Pharasma, goddess of birth, death, and fate, to purify the dead before the final rites and burial were performed in the chamber to the south. The waters cried by the fountain once had the power to wash away impurities of both body and soul.
| Dufek Leatherfinger Reiteg |
Dufek looks at the lopsided bandage, but he appreciates the effort. After all, everyone has to start somewhere, "Thanks Tegan. I think I'll be OK for now. I just need to keep out of the way!" he laughs as the party moves forward.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Though he's keeping to the outside and watching the party's backs, he notices a glint in the fountain.
"Hey, check out the fountain. There's some sort of idol to Lamashtu in there. No, there, on the left." he points.
How deep is it? Can someone just reach in, or is swimming required?
| Grek Gristle chewer |
Grek examines the locked door.
I could try to open this, or should we go the other way first?
Grek hears Dufek call out.
shhh! Bad luck to say mother of monsters name. In old days, we goblins here placated her. After we came here, forgot her, mostly. Drakus bring her back.

It is shallow enough to grab if you wanted to.
| Tegan Ryker |
Can Tegan cast a Cantrip on herself?
Tegan's purple-rimmed eyes scan the new area with interest and she re-applies the light spell on her held weapon (starknife.) "A shrine to Pharasma? In a place like this?" The cleric seems surprised. But, why would goblins be here? She fiddles with her rosary as she examines the room in more detail.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24 (+1 from Guidance Cantrip)
She gasps and urges Gorotha and Bartimaeus on in their attempts to destroy the idol. "A wicked item like that shouldn't be defiling a place like this." Tegan then blushes for the 'outburst.' I can channel positive energy on it but they probably know what they're doing. She clutches her skirt with her free hand, watching in anticipation for the evil object to be destroyed.
*Guidance* (Somatic Casting.) Touch, one creature. Grants target +1 Conditional bonus to one attack roll, Perception check, saving throw, or skill check. Happens before roll.

Should be able to Tegan.
Is Gorotha grabbing the idol out with her hands or is Bartimaeus using his cane? If Bartimaeus is using his cane I need a Thievery check to try and maneuver it out.
GM Tyranius
|
Bartimaeus, using his cane is able to work the unholy idol out of the fountains waters. With the idol removed from the waters it looks as if the pool slowly begins to recover from the corruption as if becomes clearer.
| Tegan Ryker |
Tegan lets out a sigh of relief as the waters begin to clear. She watches her companions to see how the plan to destroy the idol.
If they are unable to destroy the idol, Tegan finally offers: "I- I can channel positive energy on it if you want."
Tegan touches the rosary hanging around her neck and offers a prayer to Desna.
