Let's try this again, shall we?
First off, I apologize for coming across as if things weren't working. It is hard to step in after a game is already started and I could have been more tactful in how I approached the challenge of it.
2nd, to summerize the points raised from the previous thread: Most of you think that everything was going fine, and I can keep going with that, with a few exceptions I would like to throw out there for discussion. The dice rolling is something that I have found in other games really does save me time and allows me to update more often. For the combat posts, I can appreciate not wanting to do that entire block of text that I suggested, but round #, current vs total hp, and any other temporary effects not likely listed elsewhere would be helpful to keep everything straight. Otherwise, I am willing to keep going with what is currently being done as long as the pace of the game stays solid.
3rd, if you have ideas of where to go from here, post them here. I wasn't expecting the sharp reactions that I got in the last thread, so in order to alleviate that in the future, I will try to be more aware of what the group is looking for.
4th, once we have a direction determined, I will probably try to recruit one or two more people, but I don't want to recruit more people until I know that the group is going to be intact long enough to justify it.

Checking in. As I mentioned before still in.
I wouldn't worry about it to much, people don't like change and you had a strong start :)
I don't think that any of us were in for a really serious game, most of us seemed to be having fun kind of messing around. I am in 2 other PBP's that I am much more serious (One is a Paladin who is the Baron in Kingmaker) in so I liked the fact that this one was a bit silly.
But I am also fine with the team changing a bit due to loosing many of the crazies.
I say we re-boot with the same general arc but maybe a different goal since we are re-starting. Probably wouldn't hurt to get a couple more folks. We either lost 3 or 4 players, not sure if Hangman is coming back, he seemed to also be a little uncertain as well.

No apology required. I appreciate you volunteering your time, and understand as a CO-DM your gonna have a few guidelines.

Just wondering, are we gonna still use the dice roller for things like attacks, damage, skill checks, etc.?
I'm fine with the round updating text.

I see no reason why we can't continue where we left off. Bear should be returning soon. We still don't know if hangman is still in and Krathok has dropped out I believe. The Corporal, Declan and I are still waiting as Abitan and Hakon sneak off.
BTW - I hope we are still adventuring in Isger, that was one of my initial selections when the thread started up.

Great! Get us some devout contractors. Reinforcements should be arriving soon and Corporal Running will accept nothing but the best!

The main reason I wouldn't be using the dice roller here would be the fact I am often rolling for multiple individuals, not just one. I have found the Invisible Castle dice roller that I could use and link to, if it helps you feel that the playing field is even, but this dice roller from a DM's perspective, at least this DM's perspective, is a bit prohibitive. The vote on me handling passive rolls seemed to be "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," and the party seems to be able to keep up the pace, so for now I will stick with you handling all of your own rolls.
If we start over, it will be the group falling back to your home camp and picking up from there. Isgar is a nice central location with a lot of possible storylines.

I assure you, Hangman, that once the basic structure of the game is clear to everyone, I lighten up considerably and let the players set the overall tone of the game. I will go ahead and look for 2-3 more red shirts, I mean valued recruits. In the mean time, I will post an update that puts the group back at camp where you can rp with each other and/or any rival npc squads, civilians, or anybody else you feel like coming up with while I find the replacements, and we can get more comfortable with each other overall.

Well, Voice of Wisdom asked me to post my Magus in the collected OOC, and I'm gonna put a note here about character concept and such as well since it was mentioned.
More detail available in profile, as always.
Zeljka the Half-Orc Magus is a larger-than-life personality who enjoys off-color jokes, a good cold drink or five after a hard day of violent mercenary work and chases after things she wants with abandon and without subtlety (mostly men she likes the look of). Raised poor in Old Korvosa by a human man, she left behind a life of criminal enterprise and steady employment for intermittent mercenary work on the roads of Golarion, and has developed a taste for playing the Big Damn Hero!

I'm in character and some background will be up tonight in profile.
Meaning to say "I am in", as in I would like to sign up with the Crimson Kings and that my character and background story will be up on my profile in a bit.

Up and running!!! Plan to multi-class Alchemist/Fighter. Hope this is acceptable. Took the "Eclectic" feat to make it a good transition. Soon as you say I am "golden" I will make my introduction to the squad.
| Shuriken Nekogami |
Private Nekogami of Squad 1 Reporting For Duty.
you see a young petite figure of far eastern origin dressed in loose fitting black clothing of japanese origin. she appears dressed for cold, but not quite arctic weather. at first glance, you can assume that she is around 12 years old and her main distinctive feature is her exotic eyes. she doesn't appear to have a visible weapon in her possession.

One quick note Nek:
The Anti-Hero feat must be one of the Teamwork feats from the APG, which highlights us being a part of a merc squad. Also, would strongly suggest making sure at least 1 other person takes the same feat as you, for obvious reasons.| Shuriken Nekogami |
Talbot has the Lookout feat if anyone is looking to pair up.
i'll pair up with you.

Okay I finally got Alestars background story posted in profile. It's a little messy. Tried to make some spoilers in spoilers but I guess the program couldn't hack it. I will try to clean it up when I sit down at my real computer at home. So far everything I have posted has been on my iPhone...whew...how tedious.

It comes from the Andoran "Spirit of Linerty" Pathfinder Companion Book. It's a Regional Trait: Its a game that northern Andoran children Adopted from watching fey play it in the Verduran Forest. The book gives a long complicated description of the game involving throwing colored rock back and forth. What it boils down the trait description is that you get really adept at throwing small objects +1 to attack rolls with fist sized or similar objects and a +1 in concentration checks.

I will plan to get the next suicide mission up and running sometime Saturday. That will give people time to wrap up any purchases. After finally finding the settlement sizes, the camp counts as a village with a 500 gp and 3rd level spells maximum limit. Anything up to 2k or so or 5th level spells can be ordered in, but it will take a week per 1k to arrive, and you have to pay up front. Alestar, Neko, and Zeljka, you all have 50 gp from some source that you gained prior to joining up with the Kings. Corporal Running as also dug up money somewhere to buy a squad wand of Cure Light Wounds.

Thank you Wisdom. I finally got back to my home PC and was able to dress up my background story the way I had originally intended. So that's finished. The story stays the same, just fixed some grammatical errors and refined the over all text.
I definitly intend to brew some potions for group use. I have to do a little research to see what the cost would be. If I am correct its kind of like scrolls where it limits you to one a day. I will be brewing mostly the utilitarian ones first, ant haul, expeditious retreat and endure elements. That way I can free up space in my prepared list for curative potions.
Also updated my appearance as I have shed my Andoran garb.

Okay guys. I only had enough funds myself to make 3 CLW and I still have four days left. So if anybody wants some CLW Potions for themselves or if the unit wants to chip in to make a party triage kit then 100gp (thats base cost in raw materials 25g a potion no mark up here) will make four more.

i just got this crazy idea
starting next level
i should try to max out Craft (Tailoring)
at 5th Take Master Craftsman (Tailoring)
and at 7th take (Craft Wondrous item)
to assist with providing some of the Big 6 items the party may lack at that point.
i would have to find silly excuses to get around certain slots
slippers (or stockings) instead of boots for feet slot
scarves instead of amulets or necklaces for neck slot
masks, (think Zorro or Kato) instead of goggles or lenses for face slot
every other slot that can actually be covered by craft wondrous item should easily be already covered

I've been looking through some sources, was actually considering taking Adopted to gain a Human race trait, but I'm not sure which one I'd take. I have Humans of Golarion, which opens a number of new options for such, but haven't firmly decided. I'll finalize it by tomorrow.

I'll take a rear position.
During the week of downtime Talbot spends his earnings on masterwork ammo and spends nights sharpening crossbow bolts with his whetstone.
Purchased: 20 small sized masterwork crossbow bolts = 122 gp
After a week of late nights toiling with the whetstone, Talbot carries 17 sharpened bolts and 20 masterwork sharpened bolts.
