Blast it! You there. Trevor addresses Domeric. This has gotta be some kind of dream or whatever, we need to find ourselves a cliff or something and fly off. Cuz ya know, you can fly in dreams
Male Human Bard(Arcane Duelist) 15, 96/121 HP Init: 7
"So... then none of this is real, you think? You're not real either?" Domeric asked.
Investigator 2 HP7/16|AC14T12FF12|F2R5W3|Per5|Inspir0/4 4 Wis damage
Trevor shrugs Is this real life, or is it fantasy? I might be a butterfly dreaming it is a half-orc. That guy who ran off is dead meat and we better wake ourselves up real quick if this is a dream.
Male Human Bard(Arcane Duelist) 15, 96/121 HP Init: 7
"Well, if it is a dream... doesn't dying usually wake you up?"
Investigator 2 HP7/16|AC14T12FF12|F2R5W3|Per5|Inspir0/4 4 Wis damage
I might, maybe if we try to make ourselves wake up Trevor slaps his face. WAKKKEEEE UPPP!!!!!
Will: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Male High Azlanti DM
As Trevor yells wake up the image in front of you shimmers, blurs and then fades. You find yourselves in a cell (room A1 on Briarstone Map 1). You have no memory of how you got here. Chakam you are alive although your nose is bleeding. Some distance in front of you you can see a struggling human male with split lips and skin covered in a mapwork of fresh red lines. Heavy ropes lash him to the table
Another figure, unsettlingly thin and wearing a blood-smeared doctor's coat, circles the table casually-stopping every so often to scrutinize one of the man's wounds or select a different object from a sideboard of shiny blades. Currently, she spins one blade of a broken pair of pruning shears, which glints in the dull light of the lamp suspended overhead. With careless cruelty, the doctor draws the blade across the bound man's bare thigh, releasing a tortured wail
How am I doing for prepared spells? In other words - do I have any or do I need to spend the 15 minutes prepping? I don't need a spellbook to do it - but obviously amnesia has some issues even for a mind capable of encompassing the cosmos!
Akukho 'wakes up' with his hands at his throat, trying to hold back the blood that should be spilling from it.
When instead he sees a completely different figure drawing blood from a completely different person he stares, inquisitively.
Investigator 2 HP7/16|AC14T12FF12|F2R5W3|Per5|Inspir0/4 4 Wis damage
Trevor looks around frantically, wondering where he was now and more importantly, how to get out.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Male Human Bard(Arcane Duelist) 15, 96/121 HP Init: 7
Groaning a little, Domeric looks around as well.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Male High Azlanti DM
@Akhuko - all your prepared spells are prepared.
You all appear to be in cells which are locked. Each cell has a grille which is large enough to maybe reach one arm through. It appears that the cells look out onto a large area with other cells. The doctor is clearly another doppleganger but this one and the patient seem more real than where you were before.

Male Human Druid 6 / Ranger 2 | HP 53/53 | AC 23 FF 18 TO 16 | F +10 R +11 W +9 (+4 vs. fey and plant-targeted) | CMD 21 | Init +5 | Perc +14 | Grapple
Chakam wakes up shaking his head, confused he's still alive. As he passes his hand on his face, he feels his nose is bleeding - then just tries to clean it the best possible while assessing the situation.
The paladin stands up and checks on his colleagues around. It seems they were his allies after all. For moments, he wonders if they were able to destroy that enemy, or if the enemy was real at all. This quickly passes as he notices the shady doctor and the man outside the cell. He touches his holy symbol and mutters a brief pray to Sarenrae, then approaching his companions and signalizing to whisper.
I don't know where we are or what's going on, ... - whispers the Suli - ... But it seems our course of action should be natural. Or, at least, our goal - to get out of here, and get some answers. I'm open to suggestions, but keep it quiet... I'm not sure if that thing over there can hear us.
Investigator 2 HP7/16|AC14T12FF12|F2R5W3|Per5|Inspir0/4 4 Wis damage
I don't suppose anyone here is good with locks?
Male High Azlanti DM
At your words the doctor turns to you and says, Pipe down. You'll have your turn soon enoughShe then goes back to her patient, you notice that she has a ring of keys hanging from her belt.
Investigator 2 HP7/16|AC14T12FF12|F2R5W3|Per5|Inspir0/4 4 Wis damage
Trevor promptly sticks his arm out to snag them
Male High Azlanti DM
The doctor is currently 10 feet away but I am happy to say you are readying to catch them when she comes near
Akukho, seeing the keys, gestures and mutters a few words in a language none of you have ever heard.
Trying to Mage Hand the keys - the spell specifies 'unattended' so GM ruling on whether it works...
Male High Azlanti DM
@Akhuko, I'd have to say on this one as it is tied to her belt you couldn't really say it was unattended.
The spell pulls at the keys but they remain attached. She comes over and says, Tut, tut, now behave!. Trevor you can take your readied action
Investigator 2 HP7/16|AC14T12FF12|F2R5W3|Per5|Inspir0/4 4 Wis damage

If the creature is near the cell - can I move close to it and try to grab it through?
Male High Azlanti DM
@Chakam- yeah you can try to grab- are you going for the creature or the keys?
Male Human Druid 6 / Ranger 2 | HP 53/53 | AC 23 FF 18 TO 16 | F +10 R +11 W +9 (+4 vs. fey and plant-targeted) | CMD 21 | Init +5 | Perc +14 | Grapple
It will provoke an AoO either way, so I'll go for the keys.
Chakam sees the creature approaching and Trevor almost reaching the keys - which is when the Suli understands the idea! He immediately moves closer and tries to grab the keys himself, exposing himself to the danger.
CMB: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Male High Azlanti DM
You manage to grab the keys, at the same time she moves to attack you
Claw (1d20 = 17 +8) = 25 Damage (1d8 = 5+4) = 9
GM note - I forgot to say any damage you took from the Tatterman is healed back to full.
As the doppelganger hits you she over reaches herself and unbalanced she staggers back. At that moment the prisoner manages to get a leg free and kick her in the face. Momentarily dazed she gets her revenge on him by stabbing through his eye into his brain, killing him instantly
Male Human Druid 6 / Ranger 2 | HP 53/53 | AC 23 FF 18 TO 16 | F +10 R +11 W +9 (+4 vs. fey and plant-targeted) | CMD 21 | Init +5 | Perc +14 | Grapple
Chakam is hurt, and steps back for a moment, then extending the keys to any of his companions to pick from inside the cell.
Here, guys - time to break out of this place. Let's deal with this monster. In the name of Sarenrae, have hope! - he doesn't speaks out loud, but tries to rally his allies.

Get a knife that the creature was using on that man!
