Skizzor will set to look for suitable materials for making a rope bridge.. ALthough hes not quite sure how he's gonna get it across and secured.. He'll have to think on that..
Take 20 to find items
To the group.. "While i'm sure we can hold out here, i'm not sure how much food and water we have, so there might come a time very soon where we have to move on.. I'm going to build some sort of rope bridge to get us across the that house next door.. Any advice is welcome.."
Gerard Karl
Well if we are moving to the house instead I can make a bridge. It may only get one of us across, but then we can use the rope bridge. If we take eleven of the crate tops. We lay six out along the roof in a row. Then we lay the other five on top of the six but use them over joinings to support, 3 nails on each side of a support so six nails a support and we use 30 of the nails. We secure a rope and grappling hook to the far/top end. We stand it up. A team slowly lowers the far/top end with the rope as the others hold it in place. I don't know much about engineering but it should get at least the smallest of us across. What do you guys think?
RIZZENMAGNUS
ok, make a craft carpentry, or profession architect or engineer skill check. i will say DC 20 due to the length of distance you are attempting to cover, and the material you are working with.
Skizzor
I just realized you have an int of 7 Gerard.. Do you really think a brain power of less than Forest Gump could come up with that off the top of his head? It doesnt matter considering all those checks are trained only.. The max a none trained person can get is a DC 10.. The only one who has one of those skills trained is Lucky, so we could assist him though..
Assist Know Engin Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 6 and neg for me
Gerard Karl
Seriously its nailing pieces of wood together to cover a distance, yes I think anyone could come up with this especially since INT 7 doesn't mean retardation. the average person has an INT 10 so is it harder for my guy to learn new skills sure, does he understand things he reads probably not the first time. This idea is not complicated and to ask a DC 20 check, crazy. Not being trained in the skill just means it won't stay together long or support probably more than the first person. God skill checks are stupid sometimes. Its like oh I can't think of what to say to convice this guy for help but my diplomacy is a +20 so yeah he helps me. OK rant over. Lets get to killing zombies then since this check is failed.
Skizzor
Yea I wasnt trying to railraod your idea.. I thought it a good one, but if you read back over what you wrote its much more than nailing boards together.. And if average is 10, ie 100, than a 7 would equate to a 70 IQ.. That is mentally retarded not just a learning problem.. Forest Gump had a 80.. Im just saying, remeber you very low int when your character is suggesting things..
Oh and i was just rolling to assist, a dc 10, which is doable untrained.. Everyone should roll to try and assist Lucky with his roll

As you all move briskly about the warehouse, some of you gathering supplies, others setting traps and protecting the perimiter, a loud throaty wail erupts from the rear of the warehouse. Seconds later, it is echoed from around the building.
A deathly silence falls around the building, the only sound is your heart attempting to leap from your chest, when suddenly
SLAM
It echoes within the warehouse, causing each of you to flinch from the noise. Wood cracks under the mighty blow, nails screech as they are pulled roughly from their anchors. Your eyes snap around, looking, searching for the source of the noise. Then, you see it. An arm.
The arm moves, up and down a crack between the rear door and the wall, as if searching for something. A scream emits from the thing behind the door. several others join in, and soon 4 more arms protrude from the opening.
The door is ajar, but still remains upright...for now.
Xarian The Third
Xarian looks up from his prayers, and runs over towards the door. when he gets there he takes a swing at one of the hands currently trying to grasp through the door.
"Back foul creatures! Back!"
Attack versus an arm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (1, 6) + 4 = 11
Skizzor
"We must reinforce the doors.. Lets push the wagon's into them!"
He'll move over and start pushing the wagon towards the door.. Hoping he'll get some help..
STR Check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Guess its good to get that 1 outa the way.. Any help? lol
RIZZENMAGNUS
perhaps remove the parking break? LOL
fyi: for combat situations, i dont have people roll initiative on here. Instead, i give everyone 24 hours to make a post for the combat. Once everyone has posted, i will act and then do a round summary. If everyone posts before the 24 hour period is up, and i am able to, i will do my post and continue with the combat.
If you do not post within that 24 hour period, then your PC automatically defaults to a total defense posture.

Grith and xarian leap forward and hack at the arms squeezing through the gap. Each scores a direct hit and manage to lop off the arms, causing them to fall to the floor. A splat of blood, thick, black, noxious, dribbles from the end of the stump, staining the walls.
SKizzor attempts to push the wagon against the door, but to no avail.
Another moan, and the creatures slam against the door, shaking the door frame. A lone nail falls upon xarian's head.
Form a line Gerard barks from behind the group. [/b]We must protect the ones that cannot fight. Is our escape ready? [/b] he asks, looking about.

taking a liberty to move the story ahead a bit.
the roof
Hammering the last bits of wood together, Lucky and Gerard prepare the wood to span the large expanse.
With careful skill, they both manage to drop the wood bridge across the expanse.
inside
Struggling, skizzor manages to slowly push the wagon against the rear door, preventing it from falling backwards open.
Stepping back, both skizzor and Grith appraise the situation, and note that, for the moment, they have secured the rear door. The sound of glass shattering draws their attention to the front of the warehouse. Both men look at each other and a sudden thought comes to life within their heads.
did we forget to secure the office door?!
Skizzor
"Aww Dammit!" Skizzor quickly runs over to the office, greataxe ready.. "Someone grab some boxes or something to block this door up.." Assuming there's something to attack there..
Attack+FE-PA: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 2 - 1 = 8
Damage+FE+PA: 1d12 + 7 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 + 3 = 18
Thats like 2 1's outa the 5 rolls ive done so far.. Dam dice roller..
RIZZENMAGNUS
skizzor rounds a corner, but looses his footing due to the loose patch of dirt and gravel. He slides into some boxes, causing the top one to fall atop of him.
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
Grirth stays nearby the door, on guard for any arms that appear.
Merini begins to drag some boxes to the door, only to surprised by the vocal moan of something behind him. Turning, he sees a half elf standing before him. Its cloudy lifeless eyes staring at him, blood running from where its nose was. Its teeth gnash together, hungry for flesh. A split second later it charges merini.
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
swing and a miss
the roof
From your vantage point up above, you see 2 of those monsters climb into the office area throught he large window. In the alley between both buildings, you see another 7 staggering towards the new entry.
RIZZENMAGNUS
summary
Skizzor and xarian move up and get along side the irda, ready to lend a hand.
The one upon Merini flails its arms in an attempt to clobber the irda to death, while two more move into position beside it.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
strike two
there is a zombie opposite xarian, skizzor, and merini.
[spoiler=grith]the sound of moaning lessens as the fell creatures seem to pull away from the rear of the building[/ooc]
