West Coast Runners (Inactive)

Game Master Aiunder

In 2070 one thing rules the world, Nuyen, with it you can do anything, without it you don't even exist. In the shadows thrown off by mega-corporations and criminal cartels are Runners like you. People with skill sets that don't quite fit in 'normal' society. Do you have what it takes to grab the cash?

Etiquette(Pool:4): 4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 4, 2) = 12 Not a hit.

Infiltration(Pool:5): 5d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 4, 6) = 17 2 hits

Perception(Pool:7): 7d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 6, 3, 2, 1, 5) = 25 3 hits

It's apparent Minerva is not the most talkative sort.

Bug:

Your keen senses warn you when you pick up a pair of shadows, one behind you and one across the street, but you easily blend into the shadows and fade into the alley leaving them staring and unable to figure out what happened.
Making your way through the alleys rather than the streets forces you to detour several times around guard dogs and scale a few fences but you still reach the apartment building.
From cursory looks you can see three entrances from this side. The main entrance with an old RFID door that may or may not work, a rear door with recently added security panels and up above you a fire escape.
Hw are you going to try and get in?

Goldylocks:
The restaurant is a local diner just a little better than a dive tucked away in the corner of a rundown mall. Local net traffic and reviews have comments along the lines of "best breakfast on the east coast", "Great little place. I love it because few people know about it so it's almost like a secret and I don't have to wait for a table", "hard to find but worth it", "You gotta try the sausage!"
The bar is a mix of an English pub and a tavern. Their Web domain describes it as a 'Quaint, down to earth establishment that's the perfect place to sit and enjoy the best in domestic and import craft beers in an authentic and classy English pub atmosphere. Where class meets quality.'
The club is a high energy dance hall that focuses on the highest, fastest, tempo music topping the charts. Searching it reveals thousands of young singles ads looking to hook up as well as news reports about frequent fights and drug activity that only seem to increase the clubs popularity.

Minerva:
A big chunk of the day is spent tracking down dead end lead after dead end lead but on your fifteenth or sixteenth stop you notice out of the corner of your eye someone trying very hard to get your attention while hiding it from the rest of the world.
A hawker with a food cart between selling his wares keeps looking straight at you and sort of nodding and raising his eyebrows.

DM:

The address is listed as 8546-32 Wellington place.
Does that mean he lives on the 85th floor?

No. He's in the 32 unit

Male Troll Gun Specialist

Since i don't seem to have an etiquette skill, and since i can't get more than 2 hits on a infiltration, im just gonna roll perception to see if I can't see what Rabbit sees.

perception: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 4, 2) = 13 He he nope.

From his vantage point, Bug taps his chin thoughtfully.

Looking up he looks for any likely neighboring buildings that would provide a different vantage point... ideally looking down into the 32nd unit of the mystic's building.

Minerva frowns and makes her way to the end of the block, around the way and back around from the same direction.

Pretending to be browsing his wares, she speaks without looking at the man.

"What the hell do you want?"

Bug
Counting the "balconies" gives you a pretty good guess as to which room number thirty two would be. The apartment complex across the street should give you a decent angle to see into the windows, all you have to do is get past the teenage gang bangers loafing on the steps.

(Minerva and Sheep)
"Welcome, welcome. We have many tasty treats. You want soy dog?"
Almost imperceptibly his AR menu flickers. It looks the same but when you glance at the "hotdog" section you see one written differently. Info-dog 500 Nuyen before flickering back to normal.
"So many tasty morsels your taste buds feel like they dies and goes to heavens."

Minerva glances back up and down the street, making sure this isn't some petty ganger's attempt at a trap. Seeing nothing, she turns her head back to look at the crusty looking salesperson.

"Riiiiight, that's a high price for some pissed-on soydog. I'm hoping the taste'll be worth it!" She says the last bit with a bit of emphasis.

Ready to transfer the nuyen through her link, Jackrabbit steps closer to the man and speaks quietly. "Domino, Chips, Garbeck. Runners, decided to keep a kind of artifact for themselves instead of dropping it where they should've. I need to know where they are."

She steps a pace away from the man. "And please hold the mustard. I can't stand f$&~ing mustard."

Bug appraises the thugs lounging about the entrance to the building he wants to enter.

Closing his eyes, his mind recalls the estoteric patterns that will fool other's eyes and cause them to not see him.

Invisibility (Force 4)
Spellcasting(6) + Magic(4) 10d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 5, 3, 4, 6, 4, 6, 6) = 40 = 4 hits
Drain = Force/2 :2
Resist Drain
Willpower + Logic 7d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 3, 5, 4, 2) = 29 = 3 hits, no drain damage

Opening his eyes once again, he is satisfied that the magic was working correctly, he could feel its gently tug on his conciousness as he maintained its effect.

However, as his mysticism tutor taught him, leave nothing to chance.
So as he eased his way out of the alley, he used all of his training to remain silent as he chose the path through the thugs that would expose him to the least amount of proximity.

Infiltration(10) + Agility(4)14d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 4, 5, 1, 1, 2, 5, 5, 1, 2, 6, 3) = 42 = 4 hits

Rabbit and Sheep
"Ai Ya. No mustard, okays. You be real happy with this one."
The vendor expertly crafts your soy dog with a little bit too much exaggerated movement and about three minutes later he's handing you the finished food. Despite watching intently you find yourself surprised when there's a data chip tucked between the wrapper and the serviette.

slotting the chip...:

There are various files present including hundreds of still images from surveillance cameras in several parts of the city. The most recent time stamp shows Domino and Gar entering an old building. There are also many data files and logs present as well.
a quick data search check will let you skim through all of the info much faster

"Bug"
You magic act avoids prying eyes as you enact it and quickly and easily you walk right past the gang bangers. Up a flight of stairs and you're staring at two doors, locked with heavy deadbolts. As soon as you get through either one you'll be inside the apartments with direct views of your targets room in the other building.

Bug's Journey:

Bug sizes up the lock on the doors, takes a quick scan to make sure no one is around. Reaching into his vest he pulls out his autopicker , applies it to one of the deadbolts and activates it.

Locksmith (3) + Agility (5) + Autopicker(6)
14d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 2, 6, 4, 4, 2, 3, 5, 5, 3, 3, 2) = 52 = 5 hits

I can default to 2 with that one I believe.

Data Search - Pool:2: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6 No dice.

Bug:
The lock opens with a satisfying click and you slip inside. The rooms paint and flooring are peeling but you can see signs of recent habitation. No one is home right now but they could be coming back soon.
Moving across to the windows you can see into most of the windows across the street. It takes some time to scan through the different windows but you manage to locate the window you're pretty certain is to his room. No one is home and you can't see details very well but the apartment is a mess. Possibly ransacked.

Your quick scan of the data reveals little but at least you know that its real info. Heading back to get everyone else to help out May be your best bet. If you can track down that warehouse you'll have a good lead on them even if they're not there.

Yeah, that sounds good. Minerva and Sheep I presume will go back to the garage to wait for the others. She'll also send them a short message detailing a brief overview of what she knows, not trusting the connection's secure around here.

Bug's Journey:

Bug watches the apartment for about 15 minutes, just to make sure he doesn't see anyone moving around in there.

Then with a shrug, he leaves the building the way he entered, maintaining his invisibility and sneaking past the porch thugs.

Infiltration(10) + Agility(4) 14d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 6, 3, 1, 5, 2, 1, 2, 2, 1, 4, 1, 2) = 40 = 3 hits.

He then makes his way to the target's building , stopping in an alley to case the entrance again.
