I would advise you to to become a powerful lord, after all a powerful lord can command the might of many and that includes cursebreakers.

The sherrif looked at with Malice with shock in his eyes. "You cant ask me to string them up and do as ye say...it ain't decent!"

You will either do as I bid or your corpse shall end up along side them.

"I take no orders from hellspawn!"

You will sherrif or I can show you what awaits those who oppose me I can assure you Silik-Xo-Zaot, or Visions of Damnation will show you my ancestor Dispater, lord of the iron city of Dis and Father of strife in all his infernal glory. You will be shown the judgement that he will cast upon your soul. (bluff check 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21 versus sherrif's I believe sense motive check, unsure if i rolled it right (6 is from racial and viper familiar)

Sylas sits down in his chair and reclines. "Well, stringing up dead clergymen in a grisly fashion to 'illustrate our power' was... not my first expectation when I signed on for this, I must say."

He shrugs and cracks a grin towards Malice. "If this is how you regularly treat such men when you come across them, I daresay it's no wonder they might be quick to anger around you. In any case, I'm not terribly inclined to sign my name onto a religious war, so if you wish to follow through on this... 'presentation,' then do enjoy yourself. I'll not likely be part of it, however."

He rises from the table then. "When we are ready to continue on with our work, I will be more than happy to do so. In the meantime, I believe I could use another drink," he finishes with a smile and heads over towards the bar.

Assuming the serving girls are no longer keen on wandering the tables, what with all the bodies about ;)
.
Edit:

As Malice speaks to the Sheriff, Sylas looks back from the bar, curiously, and chuckles a little, shaking his head.

Ah, we most certainly are making friends fast in this town, he thinks to himself, taking a sip of his drink.

Rufon shakes his head at the tone Malice speaks to Etienne and the Sheriff.
"I said it once Malice, not everyone is power hungry. Don't force us to become something we are not. I will not have a hand in publicly desecrating the dead. Feed them to wolves, than they serve an actual purpose."

He walks over to the tiefling and puts a hand on Malice's shoulder whispering in his ear: Doing these kind of things openly will make you only more enemies than just these clerics. Don't get a whole village after you okay."
After that he goes back to the 'crusaders' and hauls them one by one out of the inn and places a cloth over them.

He sits down at their table and looks to the rough bruise he got from the mace hit earlier.
Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Feels rough and painful, could be a cracked rib, should heal normally though.

Rufon understand that these dead are not being desecrated, as the crimes their kind have commited in the name of Gorum are beyond your imagination. For I have seen a child of only seven years sacrificed upon an alter of Gorum, his limbs restrained as the priest excised the organs and burned them in a "sacred" fire. If you oppose their actions then know that an example must be made, and for those like this sherrif who refuse to do what is required must be punished alongside the evil they either ignore or absolutely support.

As he hauls one of the crusaders out of the tavern, he hears the words being said to him by Malice. As he walks back in to get the second he stops and adresses the tiefling once more.
"Oppose their actions? Yes. Kill them when I see them performing such rites? Yes. However mutilation in this form would be stooping to their level." He spits on the ground.
"You are right, an example must be made. Only the example should be that these people can overthrow these so-called clergy and be rid of them. Make an example by motivation, not threat.

His face turning rather sour as he picked up the second body, clearly indicating he would not want to hear anything about this affair for a while.

Male (he/him) Aberration (bodysnatcher)

There's currently no Discussion thread, so I'm posting as myself for a second.

@Viluki and GM Connor:
I'm confused about what's going on here. Were the crusaders Gorumites, or is Malice? I'm asking because I don't see Gorum being involved in human sacrifice - a definitely Evil act.

Also, how much collaboration is going on between you two? Since Viluki's occasionally controlling minor NPCs, I'm guessing quite a bit. Is there any particular reason why they're terrified of a Level One character? Is there some fact about Tieflings that I'm missing? The role-play is awesome at the moment, and I'm very much enjoying the fact that we have a borderline Evil party member, but I'm not sure how Etienne's supposed to be reacting to all this since Malice's backstory seems to be playing a heavy role in this campaign. A little clarification/explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Let us get some rest before the caravan journey, although I suggest we sell these items at market. I also spotted an alchemist on my way in and since you are all human either sunrods or a everburning torch is in order. As if these woods are infested with undead they will attack at night when they are strongest and you are weakest. As for you Rufon forget the bodies after looting them you will find that the giant quarterstaff being sold at the market is well worth your time. After all once I'm done casting this particularly juicy spell in my book you will be transformed into a being of terrifying power.

(treasure should be two heavy maces (sell price 12 gp), one longsword (sell price 7 gp and 5 sp, three sets of chainmail or chain shirt (sell price 225 and 150 respectively), 3 heavy wooden shields (10 gp and 5 sp total sell price).

note to gm:
Treasure values are at half priced as normal market value and this gear is correct from your own description (would a cleric be caught dead in padded leather?). So to forgive me taking the liberty of looting them.

Whack a rogue:
The answer is simple, the reason Malice is being hounded will be revealed most likely in the mid to late stages of the campaign (the stage where Malice begins raising his great planar army). But I can promise this besides adventuring into undead haunted jungle Malice will live up to and beyond the "schemer" sterotype and eventually attain power equal to that of an archdevil from the nine hells, thing of him as an emperor in training. As for control of minor npc's thats the GM's department I'm just giving him the lowdown on personality of Trius and the Great Port in general. As for Gorum think of him as this campaigns equivelant of Bane from the forgotten realms d&d (just put in Bane forgotten realms in search engine and click)

Viluki:
So, you and the GM have been working together to put your backstory/future into the campaign's story arc? That's all the clarification I needed. I realized this afternoon that it's very likely that Malice and Etienne will be butting heads constantly, so I wanted to make sure everything was okay. I wouldn't want us to end up killing each other. :-) As things stand right now, Etienne will be avoiding him as much as possible. He sees him as Evil and doesn't want to get involved with anything that might separate him from his hawk. Look up the movie "Ladyhawke" for more info. :-)

Viluki: After a long internal debate I have to be straightforward. Please don't hold anything I say against you personally, but i'd really appreciate if you heard it all.
I know you're just trying to be helpful, and I understand that, but I feel my position as GM/DM is being threatened. I feel you're trying to take over by giving characters the personality you want and not waiting for me to give you a response as they should have. You're automatically assuming backstories for them, as well as trying to message me continually with character ideas in a way that I cannot object to them. These will automatically make yours an unbelievable one, with powers that he should not ever be able to get a hold of. Lastly, i'm ok with dark characters, but you're making your character so borderline evil, I don't feel comfortable running a campaign with him in it. Sorry.

Everyone:The campaign is being pulled so far off track by various events that I cannot even begin to hope to bring it back to a common ground. Therefore, though it pains me to say this, I have no choice but to abandon it. AS OF RIGHT NOW THIS CAMPAIGN IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED!
Good luck in your other ones, and sorry it had to end so soon.
Best wishes!
Connor McGinnis

Well, I'm certainly sad to see this campaign end so abruptly. But if that is your choice, then alright, and I can understand the reasoning.
.
Good game to everyone then. Perhaps we'll meet up in future ones :P

Human Fighter (archer) 3

That's too bad. GM Connor, for what it's worth, I was enjoying the campaign, and if you ever put up another one, I'd definitely be interested. Best wishes everyone.
